While the location of Halr Kai is nearly perfect for us, the condo we rented has seen its glory fade to a shabby version of its former self. We arrived to a rather dark, dingy apartment with nine burned out lightbulbs, numerous unworking power plugs, rotted window frames, filthy furniture, and a next door neighbor (full time tenant wovrks for the complex) with a barking dog. I’ve stayed at Hale Kai three or four times previously — the first time in 1985, and each of the units have been very pleasant. Unit 112, not so much. The crew at Hale Kai were great! They were all smiles and helpfulness. As I said, the location is fantastic, with a community park next door and a pool overlooking the ocean. The grounds and exterior are meticulously groomed.

We love Hale Kai and have been brining our growing family for close to a decade. #211 was nice and spacious and was wonderful to have the upstairs loft and bathroom for our kids. The unit is a little dark (which helped everyone sleep), and not as ocean front as we are used to, but it was clean and well maintained. Could use some upgrades, but you can't beat the location of Hale Kai.

I stay at Hale Kai everytime I visit Maui. It's in a perfect location. Everything you'd need is within walking distance. Plus Maui has an exceptional transportation system and the bus stop is just steps away. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. I always find the unit in spotless condition. My sister and niece traveled with me this year and are already talking about next year. We had a wonderful time. I can highly recommend Hale Kai if you're looking for a reasonably priced unit in a great location.

We all felt that the unit was not cleaned well before we checked in esp the floors. upstairs bath needs some work. The kitchen needs a larger bread board as well as some plastic wrap/foil and a couple covered Tupperware type bowls (there were no bowls with lids ) No extra sheets upstairs and I suggest one more roll of tp per bathroom as rolls were super small and very thin paper (we stayed 11 nights). Both bathrooms were completely out

Our vacation condo was wonderful. Location was fantastic. We enjoyed watching the whales and sea turtles from our condo baloney. The condo was roomy, well-maintained, and clean. The resort manager was extremely helpful. We would highly recommend the property to family and friends. We are looking forward to our next trip back to the Hale Kai!!!

I love this place. My 4th time at Hale Kai..3rd in this unit. It's location is great. Walkable to groceries, morning coffee and restaurants. Decor is straight out of the 70s but the unit is immaculately clean and well equipped. Love the park/ocean view off the deck. Only downside is the street noise at night. But, it's right off the street so it's to be expected and it's not overwhelming.

Great location and lodging for a family trip with two small children. They absolutely loved the park next door and we loved all the amenities in walking distance. The condo was clean and a good size for three adults and two children. Convenient laundry facilities. Would love to stay there again!

we arrived early and the staff got us in quickly. the condo was very clean and had everything you needed in it including beach towels. a great view of the park and ocean. nice swimming pool. turtles and fish right there for snorkeling. quiet area but shopping nearby. I will return.

Quite a unique experience from the major high rise experience. It is reminiscent of places you would find in the 60’s or 70’s but with all the amenities. The pool overlooked the ever changing ocean..next door was a lovely park with a small beach. The people were a mix of owners and renters..they take pride in the upkeep and everything was in great shape and clean. It was almost like staying at a friend’s place.

This is my third stay at Hale Kai and will stay there again on my next trip. Unit is always clean and well is the entire property. Valerie and her staff are always friendly and helpful. It's in a perfect location. You can walk to anything you need as far as restaurants or groceries are concerned. Bus stop is right down the street...very convenient to everything. I'll be back.

The unit and complex were great, just as described. The office was very helpful. We made many friends hanging out at the pool at sunset, and saw turtles at the beach almost every day. The coffee shop and farmers market across the street was convenient. We went to many nearby beaches, but Napili Bay was our favorite.

..I'd like to keep it my little secret. This was my second time at Hale first time in this unit and my only issue was hearing the cars at night...the unit is on the end right by the road. That aside, it's really a nice unit and worked well for me and my sister-in-law. Each of us having our own bedroom and bathroom was priceless...sometimes you just need that alone time. Hale Kai is located in a perfect spot...everything you need is within walking distance. The property is extremely well maintained; the office staff friendly and helpful...I love it here. If I can get back to Maui, I'll definitely stay there again...

We have noticed an increase in traffic over the years. Late night street noise takes getting use to but we continue to stay here for the price, convenice, View and friendly people. It’s not a ‘resort’ experience like the big hotels. It’s clean and reasonably priced which allows us to stay longer and return again.

My family and I had a great experience at Hale Kai, where we stayed in a 2-bedroom unit for the third time in three years. The rental company on-site is a joy to deal with, the units are kept in good condition, and the complex is in a great location (near a park, farmer's market, etc.). The owners I've met there are all friendly and helpful. Would recommend this vacation rental to anyone. The complex is well kept, clean, and quiet.

This condo was one of the few units that had air conditioning so that was very nice! Cleanliness was satisfactory, but not perfect.You could still see the ocean from the balcony of this unit, even though the balcony did not face the ocean directly. We stayed there with our family of five and there was plenty of space. It was a little difficult walking around to different stores, only because there wasn't a sidewalk on both sides of the main Street. There are also some good restaurants nearby that are within walking distance. The beach at Hale Kai is not that great.. we always drove to a better beach. However, if I ever go to Maui again, I would most definitely stay here again.

Thank you for everything. This is a wonderful place where you feel at home. Near of beautiful beach and other attractions. So simply and warm. You can sit in front of the ocean and see the turtles swiming close to you... The condo is perfect and you can heard the waves from your bed at night. Everything was perfect.

I have stayed at Hale Kai before and returned with my grown son and his girlfriend.The oceanfront is gorgeous and the reef right out from is full of life. Huge sea turtles visit every day. I love the location and small complex with locals mixed with visitors. I love the park next door and the Farmer's Market store, as well as the Fish Store. The unit was spacious and in good repair. There were a couple of things that needed attention and they are always prompt to take care of them. The only downside is the road outside and amount of activity on and along the road sometimes late into the night and early in the morning. I plan to return again someday if I am able.Mahalo

We had a very good time in Hale Kai. It is very well located next to the beach and to public park. The condo is very convinient and well equipped. Only minor weak point is that it can be noisy at night as condo is close from main road.

Arrived Saturday afternoon, office closed & not able to get remote for A/C until Monday!!! Flooring needs updating in bedrooms! Furniture not as shown in pictures! Lacked enough seating in living area. Lots of traffic noise & certainly not soundproof!

Somewhat dissatisfied with rental unit. Arrived Saturday afternoon and didn't receive air conditioning control until Monday. Unit is along busy street and noisy and was hot and uncomfortable. Unit advertised as renovated, but only partly done.

Second stay at this condo. WOW, new king size beds, new floors, granite counter tops. stainless steel appliances, very clean. Great view from lanai. Walk to farmer's market, fresh Fish Market, Ohana tacos. Only 10 min. to Lahaina town. Loved having a family park next door instead of a hotel or another condo. Having a BBQ area near ocean is a plus. Able to see many sea turtles and a few whales from ocean / pool area. Condo had everything we needed. Highly recommend 211 at Hale Kai as a great vacation in Maui Hi.
