Amazing second floor unit with king bed and Chaise lounge in building 4 (closest building to the ocean). Our unit has a lovely resort view and an unobstructed view of the ocean. Step out your door, and short walk later your on the beach!
The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian plantation-style resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard!

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
• Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay.
If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning.
As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa.
By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $25 per day resort fee charged by the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay.

FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM?
Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT
The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay.
DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN?
No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms.
ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT?
No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests.
WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE?
The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming.
SHOULD I GET A CAR?
We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental.
IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT?
No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which make taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island!
ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH?
Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels.
DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE?
Private owner guests are not required to pay the $25 daily resort fee.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE?
Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $40/day for parking. This fee is paid by the guest to the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.
DO I GET FREE WI-FI INTERNET SERVICE?
YES! Wi-Fi is FREE in all the units. The signal extends into the lobby, restaurants, bars and in the pool area!

Hotel room was basic - property was beautiful - half of it has been remodeled the other half is very old. We were moved to a room that was a 'partial ocean view' - due to scaffolding in front of the ocean front room we reserved. The problem was a noise every 40-50 seconds that sounded like we were right next to the elevator! It was very disturbing and made the stay very difficult and unpleasant.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Outrigger Kauai resort unit under stayz. Owner had moved us to another ( better) unit due to renovations, view of pool and open gardens were always fabulous. Unit was comfortable although I thought it could have done with a thorough clean upon arrival. Owner was kind enough to throw in unit clean midway through our stay which was welcomed ( and not asked for). Loved the happy hours and music events in the bar/restaurant. Hotel is perfectly situated for western and eastern road trips. And close to airport which was handy but non intrusive. Overall a great stay for an easy relaxed holiday on the best island in Hawaii

The location of this property was very close to the airport and easy to locate. Very nice property, a little difficult to locate room from lobby due to it raining and had to use elevator to one floor then take stairs down to the floor our room was on.
The room was nice a little dated, bed very comfortable, great view a property and ocean. Coffee maker needs to be replaced, it’s small and did not keep coffee warm.
It was great that our host arranged for a mid-stay cleaning service.

The accommodations were as described. The view from the room was of the pool and the ocean. This room is part of a hotel and as such doesn’t have any utensils, plates, etc so be prepared to purchase those items if you think you will need them. I was going to use the coffee pot but there was an old coffee filter still in it so I wasn’t sure how clean it was. There were also no other filters. If you want to make your own coffee, get everything you’ll need. Make sure to bring any toiletries that you will need. There is a Starbucks located on the resort in the gift shop. There are 3 restaurants on the resort, Naupaka which serves breakfast and dinner, Shutters that serves dinner, and Driftwood Bar & Grill that serves lunch fare. The food was good at all 3. There is a bottle filler located on the 2nd floor of building 3 where the ice and vending machines are. We didn’t find it until more than half way through our stay. The microwave is located in the main building on the 5th floor. If we make it back to Kauai, we would stay here.

Resort is partially privately owned and part hotel owned. Extra activities not available to condo renters. We avoided the $25/day resort fee but had to pay $34/ day for parking. Location was north of busy Kalapaki Bay area. Pools were nice, and room clean with a nice view. Beach not swimmable due to coral but we visited several nice beaches. Owner had small cooler & coffee pot available. Beach chairs would be a nice addition.

This is a wonderful resort on a stunning Island. There are many things to see and do here and the resort is awesome! Check-in is a breeze, and the staff is terrific. We enjoyed walks on the beach and the sunrise is wonderful. The location is good although the turnout of the resort can be challenging. The pools are terrific and the food and options were enough especially good value for breakfast, as we explored local restaurants and other resorts for dinner. The unit is a hotel room with a larger refrigerator and no cooking ability. We typically go for condos for the extra space but no regrets here.

We have stayed at the island several times and found this location really preferable thanks to being between Lihue and Kapa'a. The resort's pools and beach bar were a great place to have some downtime and its location on the beautiful Kauai Beach which is very beautiful and a great place to walk and beach comb. We watched several gorgeous sunrises just steps outside our suite. The staff at the resort were all very friendly. Crystal was very responsive, kind and helpful. It was a great stay!

Overall, pleasant experience with this stay. Imagine staying in a hotel room with a do no disturb sign for the duration of your stay, and that is what you will get here. Some unexpected surprises like a beach front wedding and loud DJ 100 yards from our room the first night and the pool bar being unexpectedly closed the last day of our stay.
Unlike many beach side VRBOs I’ve experienced before, this one is connected to a resort. You’ll have access to a ton of pools, hot tubs, restaurants onsite, ect. However, outside food / beverages are also banned in the pool areas.
We used this as home base for exploring all parts of the island. You’ll be perfectly situated for that.

First time in Kauai, the room was as advertised and is what should be expected at the price point. Overall resort was a bit dated, food at the top restaurant was lousy and overpriced, pool was not heated, adult hot tub was not working, and beach is AWFUL (couldn’t even layout on it, not a nice Sandy beach as one might expect). We wouldn’t stay there again but 5 stars are for the room which was fine, not the amenities.

This property is amazing it has 4 pools and 2 hot tubes. Right on the beach. I was able to get a late check out since no one had booked my room for Sunday night worked great for me because my flight was in the evening. The only thing is if you don’t have a car there is nothing in walking distance and was able to use taxis and Lyft the whole time. Was a wait for both but cheaper then renting a car.
