PLEASE NOTE: The Mauna Kea Hotel and golf course will be undergoing renovations starting April 15, 2024. The project will be done in phases and is expected to last until 2nd quarter of 2025. Many of the amenities and restaurants will remain open. Please reach out to us for detailed information. The Westin Hapuna Hotel/amenities and golf course will not be affected.
Mauna Kea Resort Amenity Program: Guests have option to add on the Mauna Kea Hotel Gold Membership and Hapuna Hotel amenity access program for additional fees ($180 per day, per house, for 3 bedroom accommodation for 2024 and $195 for 2025). . The per day add on is for all days of the stay (It is not available to be opted in for partial time). At least, one week advance notice/registration required to participate in this benefit. Here are the details: Two Beaches – towels, chairs, umbrellas (rental of beach equipment such as snorkels, fins and boogie boards is available for a fee). Two Pools – towels, chairs. Two Golf Courses (at special rates). Seaside Tennis Club (at hotel guest rates). Two Fitness Centers (general access & use of equipment and facilities is included; there is a charge for all classes). Entry Key Cards for access to parking lots and fitness centers at both hotels. Charging Privileges – for ease in using Resort restaurants, retail shops and activities.

Amenities:
Beach Equipment: All of our vacation rentals include beach towels for the maximum occupancy, four beach chairs, two boogie boards, one beach umbrella and one small portable cooler.
Non-Smoking: All of our vacation rentals are Non Smoking (including e-cigarettes). There is no smoking allowed inside or outside of this home.
Hair Dryer: There are hairdryers in each bathroom.
Baby Equipment: Due to safety/sanitation/liability we do not provide baby equipment. Please refer to our Concierge Service page on for local company that rents, delivers and picks up baby equipment.
No Pets: All of our vacation rentals are pet free.
Parking: Parking for one car in the garage marked J3, Max 2 cars allowed. One additional car can be parked in any open or unmarked spot on a first come, first serve basis. Oversized or commercial vehicles are not allowed.
Swimming Pool: Yes. community swimming pool
Hot Tub: Private Hot Tub. Hot tub is not safety fenced.
Air Conditioning: Yes, central air conditioning throughout.
BBQ: Stand alone propane BBQ Grill on the lanai
Washer and Dryer: All of our vacation rentals have a washer and dryer in the unit.
Cable TV: Yes. TV's located in Living Room and bedrooms
WIFI: WIFI included.
Linens: All bed, bath linens and beach towels provided.
Kitchen: Cookware, Drinkware, Utensils, Dishware, Drip Style Coffee Maker, Blender, Rice Cooker.
Kumulani is located in the Hapuna side of the Mauna Kea Resort. Located on the hillside wth ocean views. Unit J3 is on the second floor of the J Building. There are stairs leading up to the entrance. There is no elevator.
All of our vacation rentals include a basic “start-up supply” of: laundry detergent, garbage bags, kitchen sponge, liquid soap, dishwasher liquid, paper towels, toilet paper, conditioning shampoo, small bar soap, all-purpose cleaner and salt/pepper. Cooking oils, condiments, spices, food storage bags, plastic wrap and aluminum foil are not provided. Once the startup supply runs out, guests can restock at nearby grocery stores.

Best compliment I can say is: I would definitely choose this location in the future. We often stay on the Kona side of the Big Island and really enjoy the quiet of the Mauna Kea resort. This place exceeded all of our expectations. We especially loved sitting on the balcony while enjoying our coffee in the morning.

The location was wonderful! We’ve stayed in units in area. Cleanliness wasn’t great. Gave only two little travel shampoos so bring some. Needs new bedding. But overall it was great.

This condo is really nice and comfortable, with plenty of room. We had 5 adults, and everyone loved it. I wish it was closer to the beach, but it's really just a short drive to Mauna Kea and Hapuna beaches. We had a great stay.

We had an amazing time staying in this condo. We were greeted with lovely music playing and the spectacular views. The decor was lovely and the beds were extremely comfortable. The sectional sofa in the family room was ample enough to sit the 4 of us comfortably. The outside grill came im handy and we had breakfast on the balcony every morning while looking at the beautiful view of the ocean. My coffee-loving husband really appreciated the Nespresso machine as well. We would not hesitate to come back to this condo. Thank you for a perfect vacation!

This place is awesome and we will definitely be coming back!
A few things to note, the condo was infested with gnats. However, I let management know and they were extremely quick in their response and did a wonderful job trying to remedy the issue.
The second note, the bathtub in the master bathroom is wonky for anyone that has little kids and/or trouble with mobility. The step is extremely deep and small (approx 12" deep and 4" wide) so it's virtually unusable, so you need to be able take a wide deep step directly into the tub to use it. I have small children so it made bath time a little tricky.
Otherwise this condo was AWESOME! We will absolutely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa! Check in/out instructions we’re easy and the condo was clean and well decorated for comfortable sleep in the bedrooms plus lounging in the living room. The master bedroom has blackout shades, which was appreciated on the mornings we could sleep in. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend the villa to friends!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo and the views are amazing!! It is conveniently located with great access to both Mauna Kea and Hapuna beaches. All the necessary beach amenities are provided and this made for an enjoyable stay. Our favorite was coffee and meals on the lanai with the gorgeous views.
Preplanning communication was very good and we were prepared for an easy check-in process. We look forward to our next stay!
