We had 7 in our group. We got there after dark. Lighting was poor and not sure which place. We called the number given and got an immediate answer no waiting.
Almost regretted as we walked in the door, very musty/moldy. Thankfully it aired out in 1 day. Source? bottom kitchen cupboards have white mold. We kept them closed, just washed what we used & left the items out. Beds were luxury comfortable and clean and the rooms are spaced perfectly we all had privacy when needed, yard is incredibly beautiful. The screened porch was so peaceful to sit and relax. Washer/Dryer work great.
Keep in mind: The distance from Hilo is about 30-45 min drive depending on traffic, Pahoa was so nice to explore and there is close shopping & a free public pool. On Sunday, the best farmers market is close. There are feral pigs in the yard. Not much you can do about that but they stayed in the brush and only spotted them when it was dark. We didn't bother them, they didn't bother us. It was sad to see they had rooted under some of the plants. Only wished there was some cleansers avail. Swiffer mop was leaking and no other cleansers. It would be nice to have more avail to clean after ourselves more. I recommend buying your own water as the water provided had a chlorine or chemical taste. We refilled our jugs at a refill station at the market in Pahoa and it was cheap. Would we stay here again. Yes for the price they ask it was relaxing and beautiful. Nothing was so bad to deter us from coming again.

We were so happy to stay here for two months while we house hunted. We were grateful to find a place that would allow us to have our two cats. We enjoyed the flora and fauna of the property and the beautiful, easy-to-walk neighborhood. Randy, the property manager, was great! He was a wonderful resource for us as we learned more about living on the island. Def would recommend to family and friends staying in the area.

This is a beautiful property, so clean and the surrounding gardens are lush and full of flowers and birds. Well set up and we had nothing missing. A deal for the price. As there were only the two of us we didn’t use the ohana, but this place would have been roomy for 5-6 people. We really loved it here. Restful and quiet. We hope to come again!

You know you are in Hawaii when you enter this yard.
It is beautiful and has so many different trees and plants.
The house is large and we loved the layout of the open living room and kitchen. The owners are quick to respond to any questions you may have. We wish them all the best in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your home .

It was just what we wanted -- feels secluded in the jungle. Coqui frogs are very loud most of the night.

Unbelievable beauty, so much better than the photos can show! Plants, flowers, geckos, birds and their songs… whether outside or inside the home. The night sounds, especially the coqui frogs are very loud, so although charming bring earplugs to help sleep.
Great open layout, comfortable beds/bedding and pillows. Well stocked kitchen, towels and extra bedding if needed.
Mahalo for sharing your Ohana with us, we are blessed and grateful!

When we first got here we couldn’t get ahold of anyone to get missing lock box code. Finally got a response about 8 hrs after asking for and finding out after leaving several messages with the listed contact we later found out she had passed away 2 months previously. We really liked the location and the place itself it really just needs a little updating the sheets, pillows and mattress covers all have mildew smell and mold spots on them. Anyway we did have a good visit any hopefully this doesn’t come across as complaining but more helpful to help get place in order for next family.

The house and property were stunning. The house was dirty with mold and mildew and smelled strongly of it. The linens were stained. You cannot drink the faucet water or brush your teeth with it because the rainwater is filtered but not purified. We didn’t realize this until reading the book in the house on day 3 because nothing warned us anywhere else. There is no cell service at the property so only wifi cell phone usage available. Overall a very nice place to stay but you can tell it hasn’t been getting the air circulation or sanitation it needs.

Despite the terrible stretch of bad weather, Mark & Sandy’s home was a wonderful home base. We loved playing card games and Yahtzee they provided and listening to the rain & frogs was very magical!
The yard is so lush and the fruit was yummy. We were a group of 7 (2 families) and utilized both the main house and ohana. It was perfect for our needs and we have no complaints. Thank you!

Aloha the yard is amazing. The house worked great for my auntie Patti & her daughter and son in law. The small studio was great for my daughter & son in law. The small studio could use a couch instead of a futon. They also would have done the dishes in the studio if the had been any soap but there was no hand or dish soap. My auntie Patti daughter was caught off guard when a yard guy showed up to do work during there stay said he was there to work but went after her over the catchment water use. She was doing a load of laundry at the time & washer was filling. It was a little unsettling for her. For auntie Patti & her daughter it was there very first time ever renting a vacation rental. Very green newbies to vacation rental life. But over all they loved your place it worked wonderfully for everyone. I would love to rent it again if grandma make 101. I really just wanted to let you know about what happened. Thank so much your yard and deck are amazing! Amber
