The house is well priced, in a quiet neighborhood, and close to Volcano National Park. The property manager was helpful and responsive to an early check-in when our flight came in. I do think that attention to detail with cleaning needs to be a priority as there were dirty mugs in the cabinets, a "clean" wash cloth hanging in the bathroom that had what I assume was a blood stain on it, and stains on the fabric of the dining room chairs from food and beverage.

This was a comfortable home base from which to explore the park. The home had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and it was nice to sit on the front porch and enjoy the peace and quiet. Close to restaurants in the area and the park.

We had a great stay. It was very close to the national park. It was fun to watch the birds in the yard. We didn't use the heaters but were thankful they were available. It did get chilly overnight.

Nate's place is a great quiet place to explore the east side of Hawaii. It is 7 min from the entrance of Hawaii Volcanoe National Park and about 45 min from Hilo and the South side. The house was all to ourselves and was very peaceful. It does get cool at night (which was surprising) but they had heaters and blankets. There was a grill and full kitchen which was great for some home cooking on vacation. Enjoyed out stay and would definitely come again!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Nate's Place. It had all the basic amenities we needed, the property is gorgeous, and it is so close to the national park. I appreciated being able to get up early and take a very quick drive down the street for amazing hiking in the park! Plenty of space heaters and a wall heater in the kitchen to keep the home warm during chilly nights and mornings. Extremely easy check-in and check-out process!

Enjoyed Nate's Place very much. The only small challenge was the limited number of dishes to accommodate four people, but that was minor. Was really glad I ended up choosing this rental and would rent again if I ever make it back to that area.

We loved staying at Nate's Place. It's a cute little house in a golf course neighborhood and is very close to Volcanoes National Park. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends!

If you’re looking for a luxurious get away, then look somewhere else. However, if you want a cute, comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood then this is your place. Located close to the National Park entrance, Nate’s place sits on a spacious, beautiful lot. While there is no central heat, there are space heaters to keep you warm on those chilly nights. There was plenty of room for the four of us to eat a meal and watch TV. This is the ideal home for those longing for a simple, yet comfortable vacation spot.

Great stay at Nate's Place. Another great Salt Water propery. Beautiful location in the Volcano Country Club neighborhood. Needed some help the night but Kekela solved all issues. House is small but is perfect for a few people. Has everything you need. Very close to Volcanoes National Park. Highly recommended. Saltwater has top notch properties.

We enjoyed the rental home very much. We liked the space, quiet location, pretty yard. Peaceful. It does get cold at night. I tried the floor heater in the master bedroom but it didn't work. We opened windows in evening to cool it off but learned after 2 nights not to do that. The TV didn't work in the master bedroom. The faucet handle in the master bath shower came off, replaced it. These were minor things for me... wasn't there to watch TV, like it cold at night to sleep, and shower worked. Would stay here again.

Our family of 4 stayed here in August of 2023 and it was the perfect location for early morning hikes or staying out late at VNP. Less than 5 minutes from the park it's in a very quiet neighborhood and has everything you need and more. 2 bathrooms made getting out of the house in the morning easier, the kitchen had the basic appliances and then some. Having the washing an dryer was so helpful as we were staying in a hotel when visiting the other side of the island. The house was clean, management was very responsive. All around, I would recommend this home to anyone visiting this side of the island.

Overall our stay was great. Unfortunately the listing said there was a gas fireplace which was one of the main reasons I booked this place. We're suckers for a fireplace. Anyway, I believe they've changed that verbiage now. Heaters throughout so you can get warm on cold nights. Suggestions would be to fully stock the kitchen better, its far from fully stocked. And it needs more lighting, too dark when traveling with elderly parents. The driveway gets muddy fast without any gravel laid down. But wasn't a major issue getting in and out. The best part of this property is the property itself, huge back yard, birds walking around, quiet and peaceful and the neighborhood is upscale by Volcano standards and neighbors are friendly. We would rent again but hoping they can tweak a few things to take it from good, to great! Management is awesome by the way. Highly recommend renting from them.

This home was so cozy and comfortable and perfectly located for exploring the National Park and surrounding areas easily. The home sits among old growth Koa trees and a lovely greenbelt of manicured lawn. We watched wildlife through the large picture windows while sipping our coffee. The management company was helpful and responsive to all our requests. We will stay here again, and that's the best recommendation.

Can’t beat the proximity to Volcanoes National Park! The neighborhood is very remote with very little restaurant options in Volcano Village—bring groceries with! The property is stunning and it is evident that upgrades have been made recently. There are ants, but traps are placed throughout the home. The are a nuisance, but did not impact our stay. Overall, if you’re looking for a place close to the national park with a bit of a “rural” vibe, this is it!

We stayed for 2 nights during Spring Break. The property was very inviting when we first pulled up to it. The neighborhood is very nice and the grass had just been freshly cut. The access to the home was easy with the clear and specific instructions given to us. The home is beautiful on the inside. The flooring, walls and decor are all designed to give you the feeling of being at a high class cabin and they do just that. The windows are huge and there are many of them in each room leading to the ability to enjoy natural light from just about anywhere inside the home. The home is spacious. The 2 bedrooms are plenty big enough as are the 2 bathrooms. The living room easily allows 4 people to hang out with space and comfort. The kitchen has everything you need to cook often which our group of four did. The home is within 5 minutes of the front entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Restaurants, a grocery store, a gas station, and a golf course are all within 5 minutes. The area is quiet and easy to walk in the neighborhood too. I cannot say how relaxing and rejuvenating our stay here was! We will come back here often to this home!

What a perfect place to land. The smells of the land greet you. The beautiful flora and fauna are a wonderful site. A quiet neighborhood tucked right around the corner to Volcano National Park. This neighborhood is highly walkable on its own and it is a treat to experience people living in peace and harmony. Having to work on my trip, the speedy internet was welcomed. I highly recommend Nate’s place and will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed at Nate's Place in Volcano for an extended vacation. We would highly recommend this magical destination and the Host. You will find yourself surrounded by an enchanted forest of Koa and Ohia native trees, songbirds, and nearby golf courses. For us, the most dramatic experience started in December 2022, when the two most active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa, were erupting at the same time just a few miles away! Talking about being a lucky spectator>
