If you want to be in Paia, or minutes to Ho'okipa or Sprecklesville, you'll like this location. This is the relaxed, non-touristy Hawaiian experience. Plus, Paia is the north shore hub for all sports wind and wave. And, Paia is a walk-able town.

The north shore has no high rise buildings and is the antithesis of the 'resort' experience. Rather, here locals and visitors intermingle, the waves are world-class, and there's plenty of open space. Paia has galleries, restaurants, funky shopping and a wonderful natural foods grocery store called Mana Foods. It's a pretty laid back place.

Another nice thing about Paia and Paia House is that it's centrally located. When one comes to Maui, they want the beach - there's plenty of that here. But, people also want to drive the road to Hana, see the top of Haleakala (at 10,000 ft above sea level), and check out the other parts of the island. This is perfect hub.

Paia House is located in a neighborhood. There's a peek-a-boo view to the ocean. The walk to Paia town is about four minutes. There are neighborhood sounds: people, children, dogs, and a school bus that comes through during the school year.

Further Details: All rooms have new split AC units and overhead fans. Out back is a covered lanai. Here's where you may store gear, dry it out, work out kite line tangles, do yoga, have a bbq, and kids may play. There's a yard, picnic table, hammock, fruit trees, flowers, chairs, and some beach gear we leave for guests (snorkels, masks, some boogie boards, beach chairs, a cooler, etc.)

Also, as is very Hawaiian style, the washer/dryer is outside. This keeps the heat outside too. And, if you prefer to dry things in the sun, there's a clothesline.

We also generate electricity with the photovoltaic (PV) solar panels located on the roof.

Also, we supply filtered water and Hydroflasks for you to use while traveling around. Please consider skipping the one-use plastic water bottles and use these instead. Mahalo!

Rooms are not huge, but there's plenty of space and a ceiling fan in each.

A mid-stay clean is mandatory for stays of 8 nights plus.

There's a carport for two cars.

This is a well appointed plantation-style home that's perfectly situated for a relaxing north shore vacation.

PER MAUI COUNTY LAW NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS BEYOND MAX OCCUPANCY OF 6 WILL BE ALLOWED

Everything about the house was great. It is in a local neighborhood not far from downtown. We stayed the first week up at Kaanapali. We finished out our vacation here with our kids who are all adults.

We loved staying in a neighborhood within waking distance to Paia with its restaurants, beaches, and stores. The house is extremely well equipped. The kitchen had everything. There there was ample beach equipment. Note that one of the two bathrooms is just putside the kitchen door. It's only 15 minutes from the airport, 25 from Ma'alaea Harbor (where boat trips depart from), and it is on 'The Road to Hana'. Paia House was plenty large for our family group of five adults. Highly recommend if, like us, you are not resort people.

My family and I really enjoyed staying here. We were in Maui for 10 days - our first trip there. We spent 4 nights on the west side, and then another 6 nights in this house. The neighborhood is decent, but the house is just fine and the very short walk to the very cool town of Paia is awesome. I also liked being near other attractions on this side of the island. I recommend staying here.

This house was very comfortable with a great location and not stingy on supplies. Beautiful beaches to walk or drive a short distance. Chairs, coolers and some snorkel gear provided, and ec n had sand toys for castle builders. Coffee was provided for the first morning, and it was great coffee. Restaurants and shopping are just a short walk which is great since parking in town fills up. Kitchen was so nice that we ate at the house a couple of nights, and the outdoor space was as nice as the inside. Loved everything!!

My family and I were looking for something other than the traditional resort stay in Maui, this home did not disappoint. The town of Paia is small but has everything you need including some great restaurants, Vana Sushi and Flatbread Pizza are a must, shaved ice stands and gelato! The beaches truly are within walking distance and this home has all the beach gear you could ask for. Chairs, snorkel gear, coolers and of course towels are all at your disposal. The house itself is very comfortable, beds were great and A/C units in each room to help keep it cool as temps rise. We made use of the full kitchen and grilled on the patio a few times as well. Just remember it is a neighborhood and although the home itself has quiet hours posted, that doesn't mean the wild roosters or neighbors revving engines will always comply. Overall an amazing stay and we highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique stay off the commercial path!

The Paia House had a little bit of everything to offer. The location was great, with a short walk to a local beach, best for looking at turtles and the sunset, as well as a walk into town to eat, shop or go to Mana Foods for groceries. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, spacious and well equipped including everything for the beach. In the backyard was a welcomed spot for enjoying outdoor meals and doing laundry and had an orange tree and many tropical bushes with flowers. We appreciated all of the attention to so many details and really enjoyed our home away from home each day! Thank you!

Six of us sixty-somethings had a great stay here. Spent most of our awake time at the house on the lanai, eating, talking, laughing. The grill was top notch, and there were ample facilities for cooking and eating. Beds were comfy and AC adequate for the warm evenings when we got home from our excursions. Great location for doing everything we did; Road to Hana, Farmers Market in Pukolani, beaches in Kihei, groceries in Kahalui and the Mana store, whale watching cruise at Maalea, and watching the extreme surf at Hookipa and Jaws. And super clean which we all appreciated!

Arriving late at night from a flight delayed by 13 hours we weren’t a happy family. A few text exchanges with Darcy the property manager to confirm we would still be arriving - at 2am - helped us feel at ease with such a late arrival. WOW - house was great, beds are fantastic, location to “town” was a 3-5 min walk. We would definitely stay at Paia house again - helped make our holiday a good lifetime memory!!

We were thrilled with the location so close to town. Access to beaches and waterfalls was much better than the South side where we had stayed before. The house is a perfect base for adventures with comfortable beds and a nice kitchen. Close to Safeway and restaurants.

We had a lovely week in Paia with our 2 granddaughters! The house had everything you could possibly need or want for a vacation stay. The house was immaculate and a very well kept property outside. We were close to food, beaches and shopping. It was an amazing stay in Paia!

My husband and I and our 4 children ages 21,18, 16 and 14 had a great stay in Paia. The home was very clean, comfortable, and perfect for our 10 day trip to Maui. We enjoyed the quick walk to the restaurants, boutique shops and great grocery store, Mana Foods. Perfect place to access all we wanted to do in Maui; Road to Hana, Haleakala, Beaches, Hiking, Snorkeling, and Surfing. Very relaxing, chill town!

From the booking process, to checking in, the stay, the town, and checking out, it was the best experience we've had. The home was sparkling clean. They even left the lights on for us since we arrived late. The home was nicely stocked of everything we needed to prepare meals. The towels were very plush. The beds were nice, with lots of pillows and blankets, if needed. The showers were awesome, loved the outdoor one!! The patio outside was pleasant. We utilized the washing machine because we stayed 8 days, but only packed 4 outfits!! Maui is awesome. Get outside, snorkel, bodysurf, enjoy the weather. The home was nicely stocked with beach chairs, towels, some snorkel stuff, boogey boards and coolers. There was an umbrella, too. But we didn't use it.

The house was comfortable, roomy, very clean and cute. It was perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) - the location is ideal as a home base to tour the island and do adventures in the highlands and the beach. The backyard was lovely! The property description and photos were accurate. We had easy communication with local property manager and check in was a breeze. The house (especially kitchen) was well appointed and I liked that the previous renters had left some non-perishables (olive oil, spices etc... ) we did the same for the next folks. We ate almost all meals in and shopped at Manna grocery on Baldwin. ... which helped make Maui a bit more affordable. A five star gem - we hope to come back to Paia house! Thanks!

The Paia house was quite comfortable for a group of two grandparents, two parents, and two children under four. Short walk or driving distance to beach was a major benefit, as well as walkability to town. House itself had a comfortable great room with room for the kids to play, a good size kitchen, and three comfortable beds. Backyard and covered patio also of great use. Family neighborhood. Only negatives were excessive street lighting and some noise from people parking in neighborhood and walking to local restaurants and shopping.

We didn't know much about Paia before booking this, but we thought we would choose this location as to get out of the main crazy tourists areas. This home is in a great location for easy walking to Paia town and beaches. Fun little town of Paia. Also on the road to Hana, so that saved us a lot of time to make that trek. The house is pretty small, but lovely, very clean and a great place to stay. We had 5 adults in our party. The second bathroom outside was a surprise to us, but we made it work. Lovely yard and landscaping. All in all a very pleasant stay here!

Excellent location. Well maintained properly. We enjoyed our upcountry experience. Door lock is a bit wonky…takes a couple of tries to open. Second bathroom is outside the kitchen door and we were not expecting that. Other than that, this is a really nice property.

The house was clean, well stocked, and very organized. We were really grateful to have the folding chairs and boogie boards to take with us to the beach. The town of Paia was wonderful! There are so many cute artisan shops and everyone that we talked to was super nice and gave us great recommendations. The house is within walking distance to everything you could need.

We had a fantastic time and really appreciated the attention to detail at the home. We had everything we needed and the house was spotless and comfortable. We ate outside on the back patio every night and loved the walkability to town. Plenty of room for our family to spread out for a "work-cation" and enjoy everything the north shore has to offer. Thank you for the great stay!

We loved our stay here! Clean, plenty of room, great having two bathrooms, loved being close to town. Backyard spacious and private. Only thing I would change.. Just some salt/pepper basics in the house. Didn't want to buy everything for just a week. Would go back in a flash and probably will as I have a granddaughter in Maui! Thanks it was a lovely stay!

We loved this property and wouldn't hesitate to return. The location is literally 5 minutes walk from Paia but further to the Paia beach. Its easy enough but if you have kids and a ton of beach gear, you're going to want to drive. In the other direction it heads off towards Hana but there are several beaches soon after leaving Paia limits. The kitchen has absolutely everything you'll need. We often find severla items missing or in poor shape. This place has everything and is all clean. The bathroom is cute and clean but lacks a bath. This was a minor issue with our kids who were young and hadn't had a shower before. Otherwise the bathroom was clean and good size. The bedrooms were air conditioned which is useful if you aren't used to the heat. The beds were super comfy and nicely covered. The decor in the rooms was simple and cozy (no Hawaiian palm leaves everywhere!). The back yard was great. Theres a hammock and a great outdoor table. The owners had spent a lot of time and effort on the landscaping which was in great shape. There are loads of beach gear to borrow and they provide beach towels. Overall this place was great and we wouldn't hesitate to return. The owners were very friendly and extremely responsive. They were available whenever we needed.

This is a great little house, with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed our stay very much. Spacious great room and outdoor area made for nice family time. We especially liked being within walking distance to the town and the beach. We'd love to stay here again next time we're in Maui. Diane Mc.

The Paia house is a nice place to stay with 3 bedrooms for 6 persons. We travelled with 2 children and there are small boogie boards, scuba eq., beach chairs etc. in the house, perfect. You have a bbq as well as laundry in the garden (the old ones liked the hammock as well) and shadow/sun. Kitchen is fully equipped and two nice bathrooms. Wifi works well. Paia town is just two blocks away with restaurants, vibe and shops but once in the house It's all quite and nice. Would be great to get back some time to you!

As described in the listing, the Paia house is at a very good location - only a walking distance to restaurants and grocery store in Paia town. We were able to travel to most of Maui's attractions and beaches in less than an hour, even Hana is within 2-hour distance, which made our vacation very easy and relaxed. The house is cute and functional, with pretty much everything a vacation house would equip. We were happy that the house provided plenty beach towels, chairs and toys for us to enjoy when we went to beach. The owner and property manager were very nice and responded to our requests promptly. We were in Maui at the end of August. It was unusually hot and humid when we were there (as told by locals), and we were very glad that this house had air condition. Although only 2 of the 3 rooms had air condition, it definitely provided a great relieve, and we just wished the living room and kitchen could have air condition too. But considering most properties in Paia didn't have air condition we were thrilled that this one did. Having two bathrooms was a high priory in our wish list when we were searching for a vacation rental. We arrived late at night due to plan delay and were distraught to find only one bathroom in the house. We thought the listing was inaccurate. But next day we found out the 2nd bathroom is actually right outside of the carport side door - yes, literally "outside" of the door. It turned out that many houses in this area all have a bathroom outside - as in the old days people came home from work in the Sugarcane factory liked to take a shower in the bathroom outside before getting into the house. There were a few good restaurants in Paia which we enjoyed. We also did grocery shopping in Mana Foods. However, we bought most food/drink from Costco which is only 15 minutes away and prices there are much affordable - including gas and local fruits. That made a big difference for a 10-day vacation. We even bought the Hawaiian macadamia nuts and Kona coffee from Costco to take home as souvenirs. All in all, the Paia house was a nice home away from home and it made our Maui trip truly enjoyable.

Pa'ia House is a charming home tucked on a quiet street just a short walk from town. Our family of four found the atmosphere very relaxing and conveniently located. We enjoyed walking to the many nearby restaurants. We loved walking to see the horses at the seaside farm across Hana Hwy. Nearby Baldwin & Baby Beaches were great for our young kids. The home's fenced-in backyard -- complete with a hammock -- was awesome for afternoon downtime. The casual decor and layout of the house suited us perfectly. Pa'ia House is also a great base from which to explore the island. This vacation rental is a little gem! We hope to stay here again.

Our group of 6 stayed at the Paia House from 4/27/2014-5/4/2014. I cannot write a strong enough endorsement of this property. Perfect location on the island as a whole as well as walking proximity to Happy Hour/Dinner/Shops/etc in Paia. The house itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained with a nice outdoor lounge area. The kitchen is completely furnished allowing you to save money on meals by cooking at home a few nights out of the week. The property also includes an updated grill. Greg actually put in a new outdoor table near the grill as we were moving out. One thing that was most important to us was how responsive the owners and their team were to us. Customer service to the max. Due to last minute travel changes, we actually came in a day early. We planned on booking a hotel somewhere else on the island, however sent a note to our booking agent to inquire if the house was open. A family had moved out that same day and the house needed to be turned around if we were to stay in it. While I would not plan on a situation like this happening again, I can attest that both our booking agent, the owner Greg, and the cleaners were very flexible and responsive. It set the tone for an awesome vacation. Long story short - If you are looking for a getaway vacation from the hustle and bustle of the commercial side of Maui you should strongly consider staying at the Paia House. Awesome place. Perfect location. Responsive to your concerns. Also recommend that Mai Thai's at Mama's Fish House!!

March 2014
Maria's home was perfect for our family vacation in Maui. It was very clean and well maintained. She had a beach umbrella, ice chest, lawn chairs and boogie boards available for us to use. Paia is a perfect place to stay while in Maui. Thanks Maria!! We'll see you again soon!!

Came to Maui for 4 days and really loved this spot. The house is in such a great location, right in next to everything you could ask for in Paia; the shops, the beach, everything is a quick walk. It's super convenient given its proximity to Kahalui and the easy starting spot you're at if you want to be adventurous and go to Hana or up to the top of Haleakala. Both of which are must-do's if you haven't been to Maui before. The house has everything you could really ask for to make your stay great, beach gear, chairs, umbrella, body boards, washer/dryer, plenty of space, big yard with a great hammock, etc. Owners also have tons of information available in the house once you get there with cool ideas and tips for how to take advantage of everything the town has to offer. Coming back here each night to relax was a part of what really made the vacation special, and I can't recommend it enough for anybody needing a place to stay. Would definitely stay here again next time we venture out to Maui.

July 2012
Perfect little house walking distance from Paia and close to everything on the north shore. I came with my daughter and friends for kitesurfing and it was perfect. Quiet, clean and just the right size for 2 or 6 people. BBQ, washer dryer, big backyard with nice flowers and lime trees, beach stuff, everything you need. I highly recommend it! p.s. dont miss the fresh baked scones at mana food market.. yum yum!

We stayed at the Paia House in July and loved being so close to town but far enough away to really get a feel for Maui living! The house is quite spacious and was equipped with everything we needed including a bbq and hammock on the back patio. We even picked limes from their lime trees and fresh herbs from their garden for our evening cocktails. The owners, Greg & Maria were incredibly gracious and helpful and insured our stay was a great one. We'd most definitely stay here again and look forward to our next vacation to the Valley Isle!

July 2011
We vacationed to Maui and stayed in this home during the summer. We were thrilled to see that the home was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our family of six. Our children had plenty of room to run around in the backyard and the location is great! The home was very clean and looks like they had just remodeled. The kitchen was fully stocked so we had the option of making dinner each night if the kids were too tired from all the activities of the day. The owner of the home was wonderful to deal with and very helpful with any questions that we had - concerning the home as well as answering questions about the local area. The home is only a block from downtown Paia with great restaurants & shopping. We loved walking downtown with our children and checking out all the sites. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to our next visit.

July 2011
Darling, comfortable home with a fabulous Paia location!!! Walked to town and beach every day. Everything you need in town....grocery, pharmacy, delicious restaurants, dessert, post office and excellent boutique shopping!! Home was well maintained, clean and very comfortable. Our kids especially enjoyed the beautiful private backyard! Hardwood floors, kitchen, carport, 2 bathrooms and full size washer and dryer.
