We loved our stay at the Kihei Alli Kai Condo complex. The condo is so clean and quiet and so convenient. It is a 5 minute walk to one of the best beaches in Kihei, Kamoale I and it is just a bit further to walk to II and III for snorkeling. There are also lots of shops and restaurants that you can walk to from the condo. The condo had a great selection of beach gear for our use-chairs, snorkel gear (we brought our own thought), umbrellas and boogie boards. Our teenage son loved using the boogie boards at the beach in the afternoon. The pool was heated and we went for a swim in the pool and jacuzzi every night. And the sofabed in the living room was very comfortable and the lanai was perfect for bird watching.

Elaine and Don were a pleasure to work with. Their condo was very nice and we feel lucky to have been able to stay there. It’s located in a great spot, with easy access to the parking lot, pool and sauna. Check in process was a breeze - Elaine sent an email that contained everything we would need to know. One of our favorite things about the apartment - no need to carry an additional key with you. There’s a door code you can use to lock and unlock the deadbolt, which we appreciated so much as we were often in our swim attire with little or no pockets for extra keys. Lots of amenities in the complex and Elaine and Dons apartment. We loved the fully stocked kitchen and found ourselves at Foodland quite often getting groceries for some of our meals. Just a short walk to Kam I or II with the beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear and sand mats provided by Elaine and Don made for easy and relaxing beach days for us. Two small things I didn’t find, and potentially overlooked; a cooler and a beach bag. Outside of that, we had everything we needed in the condo, leaving us plenty of room in our suitcases for gifts for the kiddos. We were able to pack lighter too thanks to the in-unit washer and dryer. We found ourselves using the drying rack on the lanai to air dry our towels and swimsuits after a day at the beach. Check out process was just as smooth - leave the place just as good if not better than you found it and hit the lock button on the door on your way out.

My wife and I have visited Kihei a number of times and are so lucky to have found accommodation that was really so accommodating . From the actual property to the very helpful host everything was perfect. Great location minutes from the beach, near convenient shopping and restaurants.

The condo was as advertised in a complex in South Kihei. The kitchen and bathroom have been remodeled and overall our stay here was pleasant. We enjoyed quite morning coffees on the lanai with NW facing views and lots of singing birds. We made sure to watch each nights sunset down on Kam 1 which is less than a quarter mile down the private drive. Our only concern was we prefer a firmer mattress than what was there. Even so, we’d gladly stay here again because all in all our trip was amazing. Thank you Elaine and Don! Maui truly is Magic for us!

Excited to go to Maui..booked for 10 nights had to change my booking to 9 nights did it within hosts time frame for a refund have a credit for $250 for Friday night during memorial weekend. Owner said to wait 14 days after check out to check with housekeeping
basically you clean everything towels sheets dishes. Left it clean. Password is written down wrong for Internet, kitchen faucet does not have weight under it to hold hand held piece of faucet in place, shelf has a crack in it on right side door of fridge, and big hole under sink. They must of had a leak and never sheet rocked or hot mud it. 12 days after my stay I asked owner where my $250 they said they had to wait for housekeeping to give it back. I said this is not right. We could go to court over this then they said they owned their condo for 20 years I said how many deposits have you kept in 20 years and they went straight to leaving me a review I said are you crazy you want me to leave you an all 1 star review. I asked them 15 days later why
they where keeping my $250 no reply and they charged my account additional $46.15 for fees. shady owners. If you expect money back or change your reservation in their time frame don't expect it back....

What a lovely stay. 10/10 would return. Clean, beautifully designed interior made the stay very enjoyable. The toy box was our favorite as we got to use the boogie boards, chairs and snorkel equipment. The bed was comfortable and so was the pullout bed. Only downside is that AC takes a moment to cool the bedroom so we used the pullout bed the first night we got in. Location is a short walk to the best sunset spot on the island. Loved staying in Kihei! A great central point to everything. Elaine’s suggestions made the trip more enjoyable. Thank you for everything!

We enjoyed our stay at Elaine & Don’s condo. The complex is located directly across the road and up the hill from Kam 1. The unit is conveniently located near to plentiful parking, the elevator and upper-level BBQs. The unit is spacious and clean. The kitchen is fairly well stocked although some pots and containers did not have lids. There were also insufficient utensils for the BBQ. We appreciated the cook book and used some of the yummy recipes. It was nice to have an ice-maker, dishwasher and in-suite laundry facilities available.
It was great to have beach chairs, umbrellas and other beach accessories. However, while there are many masks in the storage container on the deck, most have broken straps. We were able to get one mask to seal properly. The snorkels and fins worked well. There are two coolers but they are the kind for filling with liquid. A cooler for taking food and drinks to the beach would be a welcomed addition.
Although we rarely used it, we found the air conditioner worked well to cool the majority of the unit. As mentioned by others, the bedroom does tend to be quite warm. The ceiling fan helps but the small desk fan is more noisy than helpful. The addition of an oscillating tower fan may be more effective. The queen bed is moderately comfortable but does have a slight sag in the middle that may be improved with a memory foam mattress topper. The pillows have definitely seen better days and were very flat. New firmer pillows would improve the quality of sleep.
The contract, which is provided after paying, indicates a 3% charge on credit card transactions in lieu of a cleaning charge. Instructions for access to the unit were only provided a couple of days before our arrival, rather than the stated 2 weeks. Access to the unit is conveniently provided via an electronic lock. Keys are also available. Retrieving a parking pass was not as easy. The location of the unmanned office half way up the driveway, by the pool, is not clearly marked.
It is also important to note that there are no longer tennis courts at this complex. The previous tennis courts (above the parking garage) have been converted into new pickleball and shuffleboard courts.
Other suggestions made by previous guests that have not been addressed included providing a bottle of cold water for arriving guests and an anti-slip bath tub mat. With a few small improvements, a good stay could easily become a great stay. We look forward to returning one day!

Our stay was truly comfortable. We had an amazing view, premium access to the beach, shops, restaurants, etc! The owners supplied great beach accessories and a fully stocked kitchen to meet all our needs! We’ll definitely plan to stay here again!

This was perhaps the condo with the most room that I have stayed at in Hawaii. It was extremely relaxing and my family and I enjoyed the view of the West Maui Mountains. The ease of access to the beach and store was excellent. Very clean, quiet, and peaceful.

Great affordable place to stay in Maui. The living area was large. It was nice having everything we needed in kitchen. And also having washer and dryer. We wished we would have packed half the clothes we brought and just did laundry more. Awesome location to access anywhere in island easily. Just a short walk to yummy restaurants and food trucks and the beach. It was also amazing to have beach chairs and umbrellas. We used them everyday. We thought the bed and pillows were comfortable. The apartment was clean and we felt safe there. Only downside we found was the bedroom was far from the air conditioner so it was the hottest room in condo. But it did cool off eventually. Also the community hot tub wasn’t open and we were looking forward to that (but the condo owners can’t control when the community is doing maintenance on a community aspect, just be aware if part of why you’re renting is the pool/hot tub it could be closed your stay and you won’t know until arrival). Overall would stay again and recommended others to do so also.

Unit was comfortable, well equipped and close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. Parking was easy because this unit is located near the rear of the building close to the guest parking. Unfortunately, the mattress is old and sinks in the middle so we really did not sleep well. We kept rolling into each other! I also bought myself a fluffy pillow because the pillows were too flat for me. We plan to stay at Kihei Ali'i Kai again but will probably try another unit.

We had an amazing time at Elaine and Don’s condo! It is so close to the beach, food, and other shops. The lanai is incredible, especially in the mornings when it’s calm and cool and you can hear all the Hawaiian birds. We would 100% come stay here again!

Location was central and easy to get to most places we needed by foot. The interior was charming and Hawaii homey! The bedroom was a bit dark and as requested, tried to be conservative with energy so didn’t blast the AC.. so it was quite hot in the bedroom. Overall, didn’t spend too much time inside anyways and it was a decent place to rest!

Elaine's place was perfect for our needs. Perfect central location right across the beach. The house was very well decorated. Well equipped kitchen. Laundry was a huge plus too. The only thing missing were basic toiletries like body wash and shampoo which are easy to get in stores nearby but not something you plan on buying on a vacation. And an anti slip mat in the shower.
Having said that, would definitely recommend the place and plan on staying again. Thanks.

The unit is close to the beach. Short 500 foot walk down hill. Didn't seem too touristy of an area as some other areas but has enough around for food and shopping.
Pros:
-Beach equipment was handy
-Very spacious
-Close to beach/food/shops (Able to drive or walk to a majority of them)
-Full kitchen with dishwasher
-Washer and dryer
-Close to grocery store
Cons:
-First day we got there, the unit had not been cleaned. Elaine was able to get someone the next morning to clean it when we were out. I believe this was an accident on housekeeping's end and not the norm. I do believe they keep the unit very clean on a regular basis.
Besides the incident with the unit not being cleaned when we arrived, everything else was great! I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay.

The condo is beautifully designed, well kept and conveniently located at the walking distance from a nice beach, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a whole foods store with a good non-expensive cold and hot buffet. You can find in the condo everything you need and much more. We had a very pleasant stay there.

The bedroom headboard is next to a window that is on a walkway that many people use since this unit is close to the elevator. Their voices are very loud in the bedroom even when these people talk normally. Parents calling after their kids is worst. And of course there is little privacy.
This host is terrible at communications. It took several e-mails and two phone calls on the 2 days before our arrival to finally get the lock box number. Her 4-page contract (which you have to sign) says she will send that information 2-weeks before arrival. She did not do that.
She also charges the credit card fees so be sure to add that $35 to you total cost.
There are many good places to stay in this area of Kihei. We will not be coming back to this place.

We love Kihei and visit at least every other year! We were very happy with our stay at Don and Elaine's place! It was perfectly located to all of our favorite places! It had all the amenities that we needed - including beach chairs and an umbrella (things we normally would need to rent). The accommodations were great, and the kitchen was spacious. We were careful not to use the air-conditioning much (since we knew it was expensive), but that made it rather warm at times. We would definitely recommend this place!

We were in Maui for 18 days in may June This was our fourth stay in this condo .
The Condo has everything you need and more The location is just a short walk to the beach and the bbq is just 20ft from the door .
Their is also a large parking lot for your car with easy access The beach furniture supplied was of a very good quality we used it every day The lanai is in the shade and we enjoyed sitting out in the afternoon with a glass of wine We have always the owner Elaine to be very accommodating I would recommend this condo if you are going to Maui Wayne and Lena Vancouver

We rented the condo for our daughter and her family who were visiting from Sweden. The condo worked very well for young children. It was clean and well-equipped. It is set back off the busy street, yet within walking distance of the beach and restaurants. We had a wonderful time.

Let me first communicate that I have been coming to Maui 5-7 times a year for the past five years and have never had such a frustrating experience. However, the owner was not helpful during my stay and clearly doesn't have a stong business ethic. For starters the first time I spoke with Elaine she told me I could save VRBO processing fees if I paid her directly. I had made the reservation for the next day, and I don't think she understood this, so she redacted the offer since there was not enough time to mail her the payment. I don't think it is very honorable to bring up the option of paying less by avoiding the VRBO payment site if she was only going to remove the offer upon closer examination. This type of business practice does not follow best business practices at best and is very unethical at worse.
Upon check-in I soon discovered that the wifi was not working and the network name given in the framed instructions did not show up at all in the listed wifi networks. I promptly communicated this to the owners who instructed me to call their service provider to fix it. I explained that I was on business/vacation and did not have time to fix their internet issues. After three days without the internet, I realized that they did not intend to remedy the situation. I proceeded to spend 2 hours on the phone with their provider only to discover that the internet network and password had been updated many months before my arrival yet there was no mention of this in any of the guest paperwork, the condo framed instructions or in the lease contract. Upon getting the summary of my findings, the owners predictably blamed past guests for changes to their network name and password and not notifying them of the changes, but more importantly, this was all information that the owners could have acquired on their time rather than at my time and expense!
I own two business and understand first hand the pitfalls given that we have 50 employees and are responsible for the customer support on a daily basis. However, Elaine and Don withheld merchant processing fees out of my security deposit. I was not notified nor did I agree to these charges. Like any other business owner, there are hundreds of expenses that factor into the cost of the services I provide to my clients. THAT IS THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS! Never before has any other business owners in Hawaii withheld merchant services fees from my security deposit.

I just wanted to say my wife and I had a fantastic time in Kihei celebrating our 19th anniversary. We loved your beautiful Condo and had a nice relaxing time. The condo had everything we needed...even snorkel gear and beach chairs. The trade winds were really nice, with the slider opening up to the balcony...it was great for breakfast each morning. The little birds would sing to us! :) Best beach was just blocks away...Kam 1. Since it was our 19th anniversary, we took a helicopter ride on Blue Hawaiian. Awesome.
We would love to stay at your place again some day...it was perfect!

We have been coming to Kihei Alii Kai for many years. This is the first time we were able to rent this specific unit. The condo was well equipped with every thing we could need. We loved the proximity to the BBQ`s and the easy walk to the beach. My 4 year old son really enjoyed the fish and aquatic decor along with the many beach toys which were there for our use. The complex is well situated within walking distance to great amenities, restaurants and beaches. I would recommend this unit as well as this complex to anyone looking for a fantastic family vacation in beautiful Maui. Thanks again!
