What a wonderful condo! Spotless upon arrival with every essential you could think of and then some! Communication with Kim has been outstanding from the first minute of booking! The ocean is literally steps away and the nice sized balcony with this view beckons you to be on it day and night! The condo’s location makes it easy to get to all places across the island with many restaurants and stores nearby. We had an absolutely amazing time and plan to return to Maui as soon as we can! Thanks to Kim and Todd for their hospitality!😊

If I rated this location/host on a scale from 1-10, I would give them a 20! The location and accommodations were spectacular. Our trip was during whale migration and we saw several from the balcony! Our host was very responsive to any questions. We will be back!

Kihei was a more laid back location with mainly 5 story condos and homes.
Met lots of locals when out for dinner/drinks!
The condo was very nice just wish the lanai had some outdoor chairs that you could lay on and take a nap while listening to the sound of the amazing waves :)

This was my first trip to the Island and could not have asked for a better spot! WE just got married and this was the perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon. Whales can be seen from the second story balcony, the sound of waves can be heard from the couch, walks on the beach are literally steps away, and the sunsets are absolutely breath-taking.
The condo itself is fully stocked with everything you need. Even the small things like binoculars, which they provide, make it an even better experience.
Kim was very responsive and made herself available if we had any questions or needed recommendations for spots on the island.
We will definitely stay here again!

Kim's Sugar Beach condo is a great place to stay when visiting Maui. Beachfront with a 2nd floor view of the ocean. Convenient 2nd floor parking just a few steps to the front door. The beach out front is almost 3 miles long, offering an easy 6 mile walk each day to see the turtles and watch the waves roll in. Easy to take advantage of the canoe clubs that are just down the beach. Just a short drive to kihei or kahului for restaurants, groceries or other activities. Can't wait to return.

This unit was immaculate and clean and had everything you needed and didn't think of. Communication with owners was excellent. We spent a week at Kim and Todd’s condo, and it did not disappoint. The view and oceanfront location were perfect. We enjoyed breakfast and sunsets on the balcony, long walks on the beach, swimming outside our door, and paddling with the canoe club just a short walk down the beach. The unit is clean, well positioned in the complex for privacy, well decorated, and has all the amenities you could ask for. All of the little “extra” offerings like shampoo, kitchen goods and beach equipment were certainly appreciated and make it easy to just check in and get your vacation started. All of the photos on the site are accurate, so if you like what you see do not hesitate to book!

Overall this is an amazing beachfront unit with turtles and whales swimming right off the shore, I highly recommend! Great location right in the middle of everything you want to do on the island and the host is extremely responsive and communicates better than any owner I’ve talked to. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The only small hiccups were the shower/bathroom cleanliness and the only couch to sit on was on it’s last leg, not a huge deal because we were gone 90% of the time. Still highly recommend as it’s better than most places we have stayed!

We really enjoyed staying at this unit. We definitely choose this unit again.
Unfortunately, there are two issues not related to this unit. One is a neighbor who is smoking cigarette at lanai. Both of us won’t smoke so we were uncomfortable a few times at lanai. The other is huge noise from renovation work somewhere upstairs or next doors. They do only daytime but the noise was extremely high and we couldn’t take a napping. Both are NOT related to this unit and I hope both will be gone at our next stay.

My cousin got married at Sugar Beach Events so we booked this resort due to the proximity to the venue. This unit and resort did not disappoint. The unit was just as pictured, the views were absolutely incredible, and the communication from booking to though our stay was always excellent. The resort’s on site sandwich shop, pool and hot tub add to the resort feel and a short walk down the beach is a store and amazing coffee shop. It’s also only a short drive to an array of excellent restaurants and shopping. Thank you for making our Maui trip amazing, I sure miss waking up to the palm trees and ocean view. This rental will not disappoint! Mahalo!

My wife and I stayed for two weeks at Condo 233. The condo is very well equipped from the kitchen to beach equipment. Well appointed and immaculately clean. Wonderful ocean front view. Parking on the upper ramp allows for easy access to Condo. No noise from the parking area. The Bosch washer/dryer is a great plus for extended stays. Great communication with owners. We forgot a pair of air pods when we left and the cleaning staff contacted the owner immediately. The air pods being mailed to us. A very positive experience. Would highly recommend the condo.

We stayed at this condo from April 30th to May 7th for our 10th anniversary. Upon arrival, I open the door to the condo and was awestruck by the ocean view. We could also hear the sound of the waves crashing throughout the entire condo.
The condo and grounds were extremely clean and beautiful. Everything in the condo was clearly marked so we would know how to use it. You could tell that the owners went to great lengths to think of everything that may be needed because we wanted for nothing. This really helped give us a stress-free vacation. Next time we are in Maui we will be staying here!

We came to escape the Pacific NW grey and this proved perfect.
A second floor property you essentially look right at the beach with continuous wave sound . Near the end of the building there’s privacy from the broader complex and so a quick access to the ocean with a heated rinse beside the building. The kitchen was fully equipped for us and the bed a firm comfortable. Beach towels and ocean gear too. The lanai is very private feeling and we heard nothing of the neighbors. A wonderful relief.

We enjoyed our stay at SB233 so much! The view was so beautiful that we never needed to go anywhere else. The location is also very convenient. A quick walk down the beach and you have ABC store and fresh fruit market. The parking is on the same level as the condo and close to the front door, and yet we never heard any noise. Walk one flight down and you're on the beach. Every detail of the condo was well thought out. It is furnished like a home not a rental with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The furnishings, color and artwork are perfect for a beach home and it was well cared for. Kim was especially responsive to texts. Some hammering started our first morning and when I asked her about it, she called immediately and it stopped and never started again. I highly recommend this for your next stay in Kihei. Mahalo Kim!

Everything was as described in the pictures plus more! So many utensils, cookware, anything kitchen you might need they had it! Also great instructions on how to operate things if needed.
The view is just amazing- super easy access to vehicle from/to condo (no stairs to climb except 2 tiny ones into room), also a great/safe location!

This property was such a welcome surprise. The moment we walked in we felt at home. The pictures are exactly what you see. Everything from the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and Lanai were all perfect. The owners Kim and Todd were very easy to contact for any questions you have. The location is right on the beach and you can spend any moment listening to the waves crash right from your living room. We have been coming to Maui for the past 30 years and we have never stayed at the Sugar Beach Resort but, this condo has now changed all of that. It honestly was like a home away from home. I can say personally from using VRBO on all our Maui vacations, that the photos which are depicted of this condo, are exactly what you get. Most often, owners take photos of their unit on the completed renovation and never again update them. Needless to say you don't exactly get what you are seeing. This condo was spotless, and all the furnishings were comfortable and well suited with the decor. The best part of all of this was the view once you opened the front door. The ocean is just right there! You open the lanai doors and its heaven. You hear the breaking waves, the birds, and the air smells so fresh and lightly scented with plumeria.....what more could you ask for. The ease of going to the beach everyday was the best because you could leave all your valuables in the safe and go down to the beach and not have to bring a door key or anything which you had to cautious of being stolen. We loved having a chaise lounge to lay in the sun everyday and the opportunity to meet other vacationers staying at the resort. The unit was very quiet and private and was fully stocked with everything that you would need. As with other rentals we have had in the past parking was always an issue. This was a dream because the upper lot where you park is right on line with the condo. Kim was a pleasure to work with and we can guarantee we will be back to stay at her condo.

The location is right on the oceanfront with magnificent views out into the bay. If you're a beach walker, which we are, then this is the place for you. Thanks Kim and Todd for the great condo. This was our first vacation renting a condo and you have exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect, on one of the best beaches on Maui. Second floor offered a perfect view of the bay and the beach and the direct access from the parking lot was wonderful. We can't think of anything that was lacking in the condo. We have a firm couch at home and found the couch in the condo to be a bit soft for us, but this may be just looking too hard for a place for improvement. The place was spotless with easy access and a short drive from the airport and we had no trouble getting there and settled, even in the dark. Thanks again.

Kim was a pleasure to book with and the condo was a perfect spot for our one week vacation to Maui. Hard not to repeat what others have said, but it’s a well-maintained, well-appointed 1 BR that is so beautifully close to the water. We cooked in for breakfasts and some other meals - all you would want to find in the kitchen is there. Other great amenities are things like beach bags and coolers. The king size bed is very comfortable and we slept well with little street or other noise. Lots of sitting on the lanai and in the lovey chaises chairs at the resort right off the water. Pool area is nicer than the pictures show. The beach it’s on is a great walking beach and we started most days with a trek. Little to improve upon here - especially if you are going to use it as a home base to explore the other parts of the island. We found its central location really ideal. Tip for those planning to be in the water a lot at the resort: there are rocks so water shoes are a worthy investment. There is an activity concierge on site and they were helpful when exploring our recreation options. Plus we rented snorkel gear right there too. We highly recommend this condo.

Like many others, this was our first time in Maui, but not our first time using VRBO. If you do the research and pay close attention to the reviews, usually you can find that one right place to stay. Trust me and look no further, Kim and Todd’s condo is worth every moment of your time and your hard earned money. Upon arrival you will find a beautifully modern, very clean, comfortable condo that makes you feel totally relaxed, safe and secure. Pictures of the condo on this VRBO sight are completely accurate; no smoke and mirrors here. The real thing is just as nice in person as the pictures suggest. What the pictures cannot reveal is the true beauty of the location on the beach barely 100 feet from the ocean front. The second floor view from the condo's lanai gives you the impression you could just leap off right into the ocean. The waves breaking against the beach and the sun coming up in the early morning hours is something you have to experience because a picture will never capture it for you. I could rave on and on about the location, the furnishings, the cleanliness, and everything the condo offers to make you feel right at home, but the other reviews on this site will provide all the confirmation you need. Just do yourself a favor and book your next stay with Kim and Todd. We have already passed on this recommendation to our friends and we certainly will book this same condo again on our next visit.

WARNING: The first time you enter this condo, be prepared for your jaw to hit the floor when you see the view of the ocean. It is truly spectacular, and it’s right off your lanai!! This is one of those rare instances when the online photos don’t do the place justice. It’s even better than the pictures. It’s been tastefully remodeled by the owners with all new furniture, appliances, granite countertops…the works! They’ve thought of everything. Pack your swimsuit and flip-flops…everything else is here. We’ve been to Maui several times but nothing comes close in terms of quality, cleanliness, location and proximity to the waves. The only thing I didn’t like was…never mind, there’s nothing I didn’t like.

The complex is very clean, well maintained, oceanfront and beautiful! Unit 233 is very nice and newly remodeled. We were close by nice restaurant but still not in the middle of the busy areas.

First let me state I have rented many condo's over the last 10 years on Maui, often in the high end Wailea area and Kim's condo surpassed them all. The view is by far the best I have seen from a condo. Also I have dealt with many rental owner's and Kim is the best experience yet. She is soon willing to help with anything. I had arrived on Maui one day early and she arranged to get me into condo early. NO ANTS NO BUGS which not always the case. We stayed here for our honeymoon, and it definitely did not disappoint! Kim was extremely easy to work with, and always responded to any questions I had in a timely manner. The condo itself was our home away from home, and had everything needed, including a stocked kitchen with the essentials and even soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom! The view from our lanai was beautiful, and the area was quiet and relaxing. We stayed in this condo last year for one month and again this year for a month. That should tell you a lot! This condo is so well cared for, it is stocked better than my kitchen at home! It is spotless and the attention to detail is great. The view cannot be beat, it feels as though the waves are rolling right in. The sunset is incredible. Our morning walk up the beach is beautiful serenity as it has no buildings for a two mile stretch. The convenient parking is more important than you might think! It is an easy stroll right into the condo on the same level. Sugar Beach is in the perfect central location. It is easy to get to any part of the island without it taking hours to get there. All you need is your swimsuit as there are beach towels, cooler, beach chairs, even shampoo and body soap! Right outside your door you can choose to sit on the beach or on the nicely manicured lawn. Watching the whales from the lanai is so much fun. We had 6 beautiful parakeets serenading us from the palm tree off the lanai. If I sound too overly enthralled please know I am Very picky and don't give praise easily! This is the perfect spot for us!

We just returned home from Maui & had the pleasure of staying in this clean, well equipped condo at Sugar Beach Resort.
This condo has a beautiful ocean view with a nice taller table & chairs to look over the railing of your lanai.
When the double patio doors are open your air conditioning turns off automatically and kicks back on as soon as they are closed. Ceiling fans are also available in both the living room & bedroom.
Comfortable couch with a chaise lounge makes it easy to kick back and watch t.v. if you ever tire from the beautiful view ;)
The kitchen is modern & new and well equipped. Fridge with ice cube maker & water dispenser was great.
The owners have thought of everything!
Everything in this condo is organized and clean.
Comfy bedroom with a sliding door to separate the bathroom/shower area if someone is trying to sleep. Night lights on the bed made it great for reading at bedtime.
Beautiful shower with complimentary body wash, shampoo & conditioner.
Bathroom vanity is well lit with lots of storage.
Safe in bedroom closet let's you store passports, cash etc so that there is one less thing to worry about.
Clothes drying rack came in handy.
Washer/dryer in hall closet is great.
Lots of dresser space for unpacking and making yourself at home👍🏻
Parking is awesome as you park up on the second floor of the parkade and the condo is literally just steps away to the front door. Beach access is close as well.

Absolutely loved staying here. The view was amazing, the location was great and the condo was beautiful. The condo was fully stocked with small appliances, pots and pans, sharp knives, etc. which made it very easy to make meals. It is in a great location which made it easy to run around the island and then come back to rest, walk the beach or hang out by the pool. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay in this condo very much. We didn't give it 5 stars because, well, we grade hard. The listing was accurate and we would absolutely stay there again. This is a very small space, and being "from the mainland" we are used to having a bit more room to wander around. That said, it was larger than any hotel room we could afford and the location could not have been better.
The property was in great condition - all of it. The condo was beautiful and the grounds were clean - we weren't afraid to walk around barefoot (nice for a beach front property). Access to the beach was incredible, the views from the balcony were amazing, the photos weren't flattering, they are accurate. We also really appreciated access to the "beach toys". The beach chairs were nice for old folks who didn't like parking in the sand and my husband learned and loved the boogie boards. We watched the sunset every night and were disappointed when we had to leave.
The owners were great to work with, flexible, accommodating and quick to respond to questions or concerns. We had a last minute change in our itinerary (thanks to back to back hurricane predictions). We will recommend this to friends and family in the future.
We enjoyed the location - it seems like we were in the middle, it took the same amount to time to get to things on the North shore, or the Southern shore, even back across to the Eastern shore. We found lots of great stops in Kihei and plan to return as soon as we can.

From the get go, we had great communication with the owners and everything went smoothly. The condo was beautiful and we spent every morning on the Lanai drinking coffee. The views and location of this condo are wonderful and we fell in love with Sugar Beach. The condo was well stocked with everything for us to cook any meal we wanted and we had more than enough for 5 days of all supplies and essentials such as soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
We own a vacation rental company of 26 properties in Oregon and know what hard work it is to keep these homes/condos in great condition and what it takes to please all our renters. The owners of this condo have done all that and we could not say one bad thing. We can not wait to come back and are trying to plan a trip for later this year. I can't begin to explain how amazing this unit and owners are to work with. I had never booked with VRBO and had spoken to Kim before booking (which made me feel comfortable about booking a stranger's place). She was quick to respond to all of my concerns - which is very comforting. The view is outstanding and the inside is just as nice. The condo is centrally located to site seeing all over Maui and the beach just outside your door is very mellow - almost private feeling. I felt so at home in this condo and would have no hesitation on booking again. Do yourselves a favor and book this unit, you won't regret it!!

We stayed for the month of February and can tell you there was nothing we would have changed. Kim was easy to work with and was even patient with my questions and requests. The condo has a comfortable bed, it is completely updated as the photos show, drawers that close quietly, sharp knives, comfortable chairs on the lanai, it is CLEAN, a killer view, even small items like q-tips, cleaning supplies that are not locked away, shampoo etc. The kitchen was completely stocked and even included spices, olive oil etc. check the condo before you go shopping! We brought our inflatable SUP and were pleased to find that we could rent a locker for $1 a day enabling us to leave it inflated the entire time. I also kiteboard and was able to leave my board in the locker. The condo is THE most convenient location we have stayed at on Maui (after more than 10 visits). It is really right in the middle of the island but, away from the center of busy Kihei. In the mornings after whale watching on the lanai, we took long (4 miles to the end and back) walks down the beach which has NO buildings, very soothing. Also, the condo is in a great location within the resort. At the end where it is quiet. The easy access to the condo from the rooftop garage is great. I waited to write this review until I had next years reservation! Enjoy, we did!

This condo was exactly how the pictures look! We spent our 25th anniversary here & it couldn't have been more perfect. Loved being able to sit on the lanai in the morning & see the canoe's going by, also saw turtles in the evening. I can't think of a thing that wasn't already in the condo that we needed. The location was central to everything we wanted to do & we can't wait to come back to Maui again. I highly recommend the Kihei Café for breakfast! You may have to wait in line for a bit but the food is plentiful & definitely worth it, we brought back leftovers & they were just as yummy the next day. We have already recommended this condo to friends & family!

We stayed here for 6 nights. Excellent condo; very well maintained and clean. Owners provided little 'extras' that were very welcome. We were allowed to use whatever products they had available in the cupboards and fridge; none were 'expired'. We also left some foods (non-perishable) for the next tenants. Also had the usual provisions: towels, bedding, more electronics than we needed, rec stuff. Very gracious hosts and well stocked condo. A good bed too! (That's vip to me.) The property concierge's were very helpful and knowledgeable as well. You wouldn't be disappointed here; highly recommended! And centrally located in Maui.

Kim and Todd have thought of everything! It was such a relief to have a fully stocked condo with an amazing view! We were able to buy groceries down the street and save a ton of money we used to do activities on the island. It is exactly like it is in the pictures. You can enjoy the quite condo or you can walk to the pool or sandwich shop (full bar) to socialize. I must say the best part was the location. It was central and allowed us to explore the whole island with ease! We will definitely be going back and highly recommend it to our family and friends!!

Thank you Kim and Todd for sharing your lovely condo. The condo is exactly as listed and while the photos are accurate it is hard to capture just how outstanding this condo really is. The condo is extremely well stocked, it was like we were in our own home. We didn't miss a thing. There is nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of the waves every evening and taking long walks on the beach in the morning and then coffee on the lanai. The location is absolutely perfect. It was so easy to bring in the groceries from the second floor parking lot, too! The beach towels were well used as we enjoyed our daily swim in the pool. The washer and dryer are always a big hit with us as we are able to pack light. This left room in our suitcases to bring home Kona and Maui coffee! Kim thank you for answering all my questions so quickly and ensuring that everything was perfect for us. We had the most amazing vacation away from the snow and cold and we are looking forward to staying here again on our next trip Maui.

This is a beautiful condo with a wonderful ocean view. Every night the sunset was spectacular. I would recommend this condo to anyone who is looking for some rest and relaxation. The condo has recently been updated and the owner has made everything convenient for the renters. This is a very low key property...with magnificent ocean views.We really enjoyed our time there.
PS...there is a wonderful little bakery called "The Sugar Beach Bakery". The savory pies are a must and on weekends they make cinnamon sugar malasadas...Yum!

Probably one of the nicest units at SBR with absolutely the best location at the complex. Easy access from your car or from the beach and a great lanai to watch the turtles, whales and sunsets. The owners have outfitted the condo with almost everything possible you could want and then some more. Everything is like new and well maintained in the unit and the Resort's amenities and location are perfect for a great vacation. Whales, turtles, dolphins and giant manta rays are just some of the sea creatures that can be seen from the resort or from Sugar Beach on our morning walks.

We have been stayed at the Sugar Beach resort 15 times over the past 25 years. This condo was by far the best one we have stayed in. The owners have thought of everything. It is like being in your own house.
Everything you need for a great vacation has been supplied.
The remodeling has been done to a very high standard throughout.
Definitely would recommend this condo.

This sugar beach condo exceeded our expectations. The renovations are simply beautiful and since we had a rental vehicle, we found the location to be perfectly central for easy access to all surrounding towns. The ocean view was exactly what we wanted. We felt very comfortable and at home in this condo. The pool area is a little small but it's perfect for relaxing. We had the best time in Maui and I believe it's partly because we were so happy with our accommodations. I would love to stay here on our next visit to Maui and strongly recommend this property. Brian and I went to Sugar Beach Resort for our honeymoon. We had the greatest time. I have stayed at Sugar Beach many times but have never seen a condo so lovely. From the minute we walked in we felt at home. The condo includes everything you can think of (from a pizza slicer to strainer to alarm clock). The lanai is gorgeous. We will be back again.
