The resort was great. Easy check in. The Owner happened to be on site & super responsive. The location couldn't have been better for our stay. Duke's is a favorite of ours & onsite. The view was beautiful. Super easy - free parking. Very easy access to the pools. The unit was very peaceful and quiet. They had beach chairs, umbrellas and toys too use.
The only thing Id say is the couch was hard (sofa bed.)
Maui was wonderful to us. @MauiStrong!
I'd rent the unit again & recommend it!

Walked into a very dirty grimy kitchen! ALL kitchen cupboards and handles were dirty and sticky! Hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time! Fridge dirty, stove dirty, floors had big dirt spots on them so you could clearly see the unit hasn’t been cleaned properly AT ALL! We complained to owners and they had another cleaner come in and we asked specifically to concentrate on cleaning the kitchen. To our disappointment the cupboards, handles, fridge etc hadn’t been touched so we spent a whole day on vacation cleaning. Their other units were booked so we asked them to move us to a clean unit but got no response. They only suggested another cleaner come in and try again or do our laundry? We received no money back and still paid for cleaning fee ( they never offered to take money off for disappointment and inconvenience of their condo) We love Honua Kai, have stayed here before and units have always been clean, great owners/management company to deal with etc. These owners own a few condos and have lost the personal touches that matter to people when it comes to having a great vacation.

This is a great 1-bedroom condo. Very quiet location with a partial view of the ocean. The owners are outstanding communicators throughout the booking/stay process. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.

Honua Kai was a great property for our family (mom, dad, 5yr old, and 7yr old). The pools, beach, bbq's, Dukes, and nearby shave ice were all we needed. The condo had everything we needed and more (life jacket and floatie for the kids). The bed was super comfortable and the pullout couch was perfect for the kids. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the sunsets over the ocean visible from the lanai and the many pools and waterfalls at the resort. The accommodations were modern, clean and comfortable and the pool/beach towels were easy to get from the automatic dispensers (activated by waterproof, electronic wrist band available in different sizes after checkin). This unit is on the quiet side with views of gardens and monkey pod and palm trees in addition to the ocean. Our unit included beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. Communication with owners was great when needed. We would stay here again.

It’s a great condo with a nice corner view of the ocean. We ate all meals on the lanai. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment. I loved the small touches like a drying rack, liquid hand soap in the kitchen & bathroom, bin for shoes & laundry basket. All appliances were working well. Jill and Terry are accessible and easy to contact. Great time in Maui… thanks!!

I was stereotyped from booking process, won over owner (rightfully so), checked in after check in time to a condo that was not ready. Offered to come back, over an hour later, condo still not ready. 6, 4 and 1 year old kids were cold wet and left to wait in a hallway! Terrible!!! I work in hospitality and this was unacceptable!

Overall, very nice room. It was clean, plenty of space, and the outdoor deck was expansive. We didn't have the 'greatest' nights sleep as the bed was kind of hard, but for most users, I'm sure it will be fine. Property is extremely high-quality, we would stay here again. Thanks!

When we arrived we were greeted by Judy and Michael who were accompanied by two absolute cuties (their puppies), Angelica and Kalua in lei's. Imagine that!! This alone would have won our hearts if it were not for the delicious banana bread waiting for us in the fridge. The Red Ginger studio is clean and super cute that walks out to the backyard. My bf and I spent every morning just staring at the banana trees and several others in the little patio while sipping our coffee. Judy and Michael also have ton of beach gears that you can borrow and the place is pretty close (~10 min drive) to kailua town. Overall, my bf and I absolutely loved the place and we miss Kalua and Angelica coming to snag some petting/loving from us every time we went out or came back. We would definitely book the property again if in the area.

Everything was absolutely wonderful from the beginning until the end! Jill and Terry's lever of service from beginning to end is exceptional, and the condo is absolutely beautiful. The resort is wonderful with a beautiful beach and multiple pools, and it has everything that you could possibly need. The condo was clean and quite with a balcony that was great! It is also located within walking distance of a grocery store and multiple restaurants. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone and hope to go back one day.

Everything was exactly what we needed. Jill and Terry were great in communicating through the whole trip from asking if it was available through check out. We have stayed at this site two times prior so we knew generally what to expect.
The room was nice and you can actually see the ocean from the balcony which is a plus. The room was clean on comfortable and had a lot of things for kids like a stool in the bathroom so they could reach the sink. Definitely a great room. I liked the location in the building as well, not on the ground so you don't have people walking past you but also not so high up you couldn't take the stairs if the elevator is crowded. It is also close to the elevator that runs from the underground parking all the way up so it's easy to get from your car to the room. There are supplies for cooking and washing dishes as well towels and other things you'd expect from a regular hotel. Also there's wifi, which is always nice even if cell reception is pretty good there.
A few notes on the hotel if you haven't stayed there before. It's quite and clean and fairly new. There are several pools from quite ones to one with a waterslide. The beach is ok, it is kinda short as when the high tide comes in it can come all the way up the boardwalk, but the waves are not too bad. It is a little rocky once you get into the water but there are areas to enter for snorkeling. The views are great to Lanai and Molokai. There is one restaurant on site Duke's where the food is good but it its a bit more expensive and tends to take a while for the food to come out. There's a shopping center across the street with a pancake breakfast place and a full supermarket that's open from 4AM to midnight. There are lots of good food choices in Lahaina and some to the north a mile or two as well.
Overall a great experience and one we'll likely repeat.

Beautiful condo in an excellent resort. Everything worked as it should, it was perfectly ready for our stay. Owners communicated well before, during, and after the stay. Property manager was on time and made sure everything was perfect. Great quiet location. Grocery Store across the street. I have nothing negative to say about the property. Book it!

We had such an AMAZING stay at this beautiful condo!! This was the perfect place for our family to spend time exploring this incredible island . It is obvious the time and energy Jill and Terry have put in to making this unit a home and keeping it so nice, clean, and fully stocked! We appreciate all the attention to detail given to making sure everything we might need was there and available. It was so great to have the beach chairs, noodles and boogie boards available for our use as well as everything we could need and more in the kitchen! We also could not believe how well we slept while on this trip... the best we have ever slept away from home. The bed and the bedding/pillows were ultra comfortable. As this was our first trip to Maui, we couldn't be more pleased with the beauty, location and accommodations the Honua Kai and specifically this condo offered!!
Thank you, Jill and Terry, for your hospitality and for all your wonderful organization/communication. You really helped make this a fabulous week for our family!

My husband and I spent our anniversary in this beautiful condo. We found it extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. You do not need to be concerned about the construction on the other side of this resort -- we never hear anything from the unit or the pool. The location is extremely convenient to a beautiful walking path that takes you to other resorts and close restaurants, and runs along the expansive beach. We'd like to note that the beach closest to property is beautiful and great for wading, but not necessarily snorkeling or other water activities. At the time of our stay, we found that it had a strong rip tide and may not be suitable for small children. That being said, there are beautiful pools on the property that are perfect for kids. The resort is also a short driving distance from many popular snorkeling beaches, which we enjoyed discovering.

We just got back from our 10-day honeymoon at Jill and Terry's property and I can't say enough positive things about it! The condo itself is amazing! It is well stocked with beach supplies (beach chairs, towels, pool toys etc), kitchen supplies (dishes, spices, coffee maker etc), as well as many "extras" like an iron, blowdryer, bug spray/aloe gel, Wifi, Netflix etc (I could go on and on). The lanai was probably my favourite part and I loved waking up and having breakfast outside each morning. There's a plaza directly across the street with a grocery store, amazing breakfast joint (Slappy Cakes) and even shaved ice (a must-try in Maui). Kaanapali beach is beautiful and there's so much to see and do in the area. The Honua Kai property itself is also fantastic. With numerous pools and Duke's restaurant nearby, we could have easily spent every day there if we weren't so eager to explore the rest of Maui.
Property aside, Jill and Terry were extremely easy to work with. They responded quickly with any questions when we were initially booking, as well as during our stay. We had absolutely no issues during our stay, but it was reassuring to know they were only a quick text or call away. I would definitely recommend this rental property to anyone planning a trip to Maui and we hope to return someday ourselves!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in May. The condo met our expectations and more! The unit was stocked with laundry soap, dish soap, spices and more. We made use of the boogies boards, beach chairs, beach umbrella and snorkel gear every day. Terry and Jill were extremely easy to reach with any questions before or during our stay. The binder in the condo with all the instructions for the appliances as well as tips of local restaurants was a perfect addition. We loved this property for the location. You can walk into whalers village in about 30-35 minutes. There are many restaurants along the way. We will definitely be booking with Terry and Jill again.

Stayed here for our honeymoon. It was awesome. Everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Grocery store right across the street. Walking distance to the beach. It was fantastic.
One night our e-key decided to stop working. One call to Jill and she had security at our door within minutes getting us in. Quick action saved a potentially bad situation. Thanks, Jill. Seems like she really cares about her guests truly having the best time.

We had a wonderful time at Jill and Terry's condo at the Hanua Kai, both their condo and the property were incredible. It was exactly as advertised, no surprises. The Hanua Kai is definatley a top notch resort with a great pool and right on the beach. The condo was was very nice to hang out in, exactly what I was looking for to make my famiy happy during our vacation. It was clean and comfortable and they had all the extra's: snorkel equipt, beach chairs, child beach toys, condiments...... Also, the room was close enough to one of the elevators and since the parking garage is below the condo, it made things conviniet for us. Finally, the owners were very responsive and on top of any questions we had which was a plus when hearing about some of the experiences our relatives had elsewhere on the island. Mahalo Jill and Terry, still wish we were there.

This condo is a great find. It is located in the beautiful resort of Honua Kai right on Kaanapali Beach. There is no need to leave the property if you don't want to. It has a great pool, nice beach access and even a general store and coffee bar/bakery. Duke's restaurant is also on the property and makes delicious food all day. It was the best Duke's we have eaten at. There are a few in Hawaii and this one is by far the best.
The condo is very nice and has all the comforts of home. It even has a good supply of beach items you can use. It was great being able to borrow beach chairs instead of purchasing new ones.
I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay on Kaanapali Beach. The resort was top notch and the condo was even prettier than the pictures!

A very well equipped condo unit in a luxury condo building with several pools & play areas for the kids. Duke's bar&restaurant is a nice feature of the property, as is the gourmet shop in the adjoining building.
In close proximity to the beach & ocean and at one end of a long beachside path which extends South & goes by all the beach hotels & several restaurants, it affords a nice 1-2 hour walk/jog(depending on pace).
Service & support by the owners & resort staff was excellent. It is very close to shopping. All in all a great location.

Our family of 4 loved this suite from the moment we arrived. Jill and Terry have provided everything for the perfect vacation. The suite is lovely and on the quiet side of the building. Our favorite part is the expanding doors that lead to the lanai where we sat every night, ate dinner and watched the sun go down. We were lucky to meet Terry and Jill while we were there and found that renting through them was so easy and met every expectation. In fact, we are going back very soon....can't wait! Thanks Jill and Terry!

This condo is beautiful. Felt like home but even nicer! Everything was clean, there were actually condiments in the frig, boogie boards waiting, a couple nice beach chairs, snorkeling gear . . . way more equipped than what some of our friends rented at the same condo through a company! Would definitely go back!!!!

We loved the quiet and private location of the unit, and Jill is a super professional and responsive owner - she made the entire process so easy. We absolutely loved it! (1st time for VRBO) The unit & the view were exactly what the pictures showed on the VRBO site, so no surprises here. Jill was excellent to deal with & led us through the entire process with ease. She helped us with things far above & beyond what is required for renting someone’s unit. The 1 bedroom was huge and so very spacious for me & my 2 daughters. Nice to come to a place and have it be not only be spotless but also to have amazing quality finishing. It was very well appointed, from the furnishings to the granite counters, comfy King bed, double sinks & an extra-large separate shower stall in the bathroom. All the extras like the boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella, snorkelling gear, cooler and sand toys were a major plus. We especially loved the huge lanai with the floor to ceiling accordion doors. It was very relaxing, after spending a hectic day in the sun with the girls to kick back on the lanai and watch the sunset. It was especially nice to have the park next door as the park was very quiet but it added to the sense of green space.
We love to stay busy, from boogie boarding & snorkeling to making our way around the island for all sorts of activities. On the days when we didn’t venture out we had absolutely everything right at the Honua Kai. Many pools, hot tubs and also great snorkeling at the awesome beach right in front of the hotel. The girls loved the waterslide & lazy river too. One of our favourite restaurants was the Mixed Grill in Lahaina which is very casual & also extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend renting from Jill & her husband.

I highly recommend this unit at the Honua Kai, Konea building. The unit is on the quite, shady side of the buildiing. When you rent one of the 1 bedroom units it is important to check the size of the bathroom as some are much smaller with just one sink and shower over tub. This unit has 2 sinks and a separate shower which is important to us. Jill and Terry were very easy to work with and always answered any questions quickly and made the rental process easy. The unit has a few extras such as boogie boards, chairs and sand toys...also comes with some spices and condiments. A wonderful way to enjoy Maui!!!!!

PS. If I can make one small suggestion, perhaps having a few extra blankets for the pull-out bed would be great.
