#109 in Kihei Bay Surf was a nice, clean studio in a convenient location across the street from the Humpback Whale Foundation. Studio was well clean and exactly as shown. It is a ground floor studio and faces South Kiheo street so traffic noise is a bit loud but not too concerning. Pool and hot tub very nice with a bbq area as well. Studio was perfect for two people and could accomodate a small family (3) if needed. I would recommend this studio in Kihei but you do need a car to get to shopping, restaurants, other beaches and airport.

The location of the property was just perfect for what me and my family were looking for. The whole week we had absolutely loved the location. Right across from the beach where we could enjoy early mornings and evenings with our toddler. My only complaint is the hot water running out quickly between myself my husband and our daughter we had to wait at least 15-20 minutes before getting more hot water so the next person could shower. Other than that we had an enjoyable stay and would definitely come back again.

Overall solid property, place was clean enough however there were a handful of small things to take the star off. (Dead bugs in picture frames, mold in bathroom, very dusty curtains, questionable towels, etc). The location is solid if you have a car, however walkabilty is iffy in that side of Kihei. And the WiFi was spotty at times.
But overall, pleased with the room for the price.

The unit is located close to everything. We were able to see some of the ocean from the back door. The on site laundry has an online option so we did not need coins. We did not have to check in at an office. When we got to the unit at check in time we had emailed instructions on what to do and expect. There are beach towels to use, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, cooler...my mind was at ease as everything was already there to use. The kitchen worked well for our cooking. It has a coffee maker and toaster so we never had to buy breakfast as we bought groceries for the week to save money. At night it was quiet. I do not recall hearing any other tenants moving around upstairs or loud music. The traffic was not that loud either. I highly recommend this unit.

We enjoyed our stay and the place was perfect. However, we did run into some parking issues. The first 2 nights we were able to park in front of the unit. The rest of the time we were pushed out by visitors to other tenants. I believe assigned parking would make a big difference in making sure others don’t experience the same thing. The place was perfect, and it was in a good location for most parts. Nice area right by the beaches and friendly people. Enjoyed our stay, beds are comfy I stayed on a pull out couch and it was very comfy compared to others I’ve slept on. Emailed owner a couple time and responded promptly. I’d come back here again just in a different room. A lot of road traffic where I was but I got used of it.

The unit was clean upon arrival and stocked with the basics you’d expect in a hotel along with paper towels and garbage bags. They also provided with two beach chairs, a water cooler, and narrow cooler (though it had a broken handle).
Pros for the location are being able to walk across the road for a beach sunset and it’s a pretty easy drive to most locations. The con is its proximity to a main road does mean there’s road noise when going to sleep. (We knew this before booking and came prepared with ear plugs. Most nights the noise was minimal enough that I didn’t bother with my earplugs.)
I didn’t expect to use their pool, but we found ourselves there when the wind started blowing the sand around too much at the beach one afternoon.
Overall we were happy with our stay considering our budget for lodging on Maui.

We loved how close the condo was to the beach. The condo was perfect for the two of us. There only suggestion I'd make is to keep the dresser free if extra items so that guests can use the drawers. We had to take everything out to use them and then put everything back, which was inconvenient. A large broom would also be helpful to sweep up the sand. Otherwise, we had everything we needed for our trip. Thank you!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week or so stay here. It was clean, well-stocked and the bus stops outside one way and a block away the other. We loved the shower, the bed was comfy and they had gear to use: beach towels and chairs were the ones we needed the most but I also saw some snorkel gear (we'd brought our own). We only used the pool once but it was nice too. There are laundry facilities onsite but we didn't use them.

This condo will serve you well if you fill up each day with activity and come back every day exhausted! Food and grocery store are nearby. There's a nice pool and hot tub. Across the street you'll find a calm, small beach. Just be sure to fill up your day so you can come home, watch a movie on the nice TV, and sleep through the road noise, which isn't so bad. If you're used to the city where a loud tricked out car will come through twice an hour until 1am, you'll be just fine.

Across from the beach but we came at the worst time when the road was flooded and covered with soil. Everything clear up in like 4 days. It was 3 miles north of a nice beach park entrance. Snorkeling gear, chairs and cooler were in the closet to use. I didn't know this until a few days left though. In my opinion this was a very central location to get to the food, airport or malls.
Once I got the instructions on how to get into the Vrbo I didn't get any messages from the owner. It would have been nice for the owner to check in or give recommendations or we at least see the owner.

The apartment wasn’t cleaned properly and we found a dead roach as well as one small one alive in the toilet. The kitchen sink started leaking and microwave stopped working in 2 days so we were not able to use all amenities.

The photos make it look like there’s a bedroom. There is not. There’s a bed in the living room, feet from the couch that serves as the “sleeps 3.” Very strategically angled photos. Lots of noise at night; issues with lock on porch. Arrived and unit was 84 degrees. AC works very poorly, same complains from other units. If you don’t mind bad air, and lack of space, it’s a good stay.

We came out to Maui for a week of adventure and fun and didn't need anything that was too extravagant because we knew we wouldn't be in our room much. Kihei Surf was the perfect accommodation for that. We were literally across the street from a turtle sanctuary beach, minutes from downtown Kihei and roughly 35 minutes from any part of the island. The room was clean and the kitchen had anything we needed to cook, the showers had feet washing spouts and the bed was super comfy. Overall, this was the best affordable option we could have asked for!

We really enjoyed our time in this unit. It had everything we needed for our week long stay. The only complaint we had was the AC. It took a while to get going, so many nights we went to sleep hot. A tip for this unit, if you plan to cook, you’ll need to get salt/pepper/oil/etc. The unit didn’t have any of these basic items. Not a big deal since there’s a small convenience store just up the street.

Our booking this condo was confirmed by VRBO, Kihei Bay Surf implied otherwise, notifying me that i needed to complete an additional 5 page application initialing every other paragraph before they would send the lockbox code. I filled it out signed it and they said they didn't get it. This went back and forth until I was about to leave on vacation getting more and more anxious because my booking wasn't confirmed until the very end. They also said that if i entered the condo before 3, I would be charged an extra day's rent. We drove over there at 2:30 just to locate the whereabouts of the condo and saw that there was no activity. no vehicle or any signs of cleaning. We assumed it was clean but didn't enter. We came back at 3PM and the condo door was open with cleaning people scurrying around. The sour faced manager told us that the condo was so dirty that the cleaning people were there 4 hours cleaning it. We told her that wasn't true as we were there at 2:30 and there were no cleaners. She became very upset with us and walked off in a huff. We waited in the parking lot for over an hour until the cleaners were done. The condo is a studio, well equipped, except the mattress is very uncomfortable and we wound up buying inflatable mattresses so we could sleep without a backache. the shower rates 5 stars, unfortunately the rest of the condo and the manager didn't. The condo is on a very busy street. Our main view was of cars and a building across the street with tires stacked along it's wall. In 30 years of traveling and booking condos, I never has such an exasperating experience. Thank God, this is very rare with VRBO. I am giving them 2 stars because the shower was very nice.

We had an absolutely wonderful two week stay at Kihei Bay Surf. The pool/hot tub/BBQ area was great and so was the little beach across the road. Excellent snorkelling there to see turtles and many varieties of tropical fishes. The long beach around the reef from it was fantastic for long morning walks. We hope we can come back here sometime in the future. The only little thing that could have been improved was that the code for the pool area had been changed from what we'd been told it would be but that was not a big thing at all. Thanks for the great stay.

Kihei is a great place to stay as there are many great beaches nearby as well as close to all the activities from the triangle. However, our unit was right on the road which made id a bit noizy. It was a great condo especially for the price. AC worked great, parking was a breeze, and was stocked with everything you could need. Only thing that wasn’t great was the main road was load in the morning and a little hard to stay asleep with the noise, but if you kept the AC on it could cover the noise up pretty well. The cleaning crew showed up before 11 am (the check-out time). It was a bit annoying.

The condo was perfect for what we needed. It was very clean and cozy. We were so excited to find that it was equipped with everything we could possibly need (dishes, beach chairs, towels, etc). We didn't hear any of the neighbors at all. Some friends were staying in separate condos and although theirs had more of an ocean view, they couldn't get enough of how cozy ours was!

We so enjoyed our trip to Maui and were pleasantly surprised to find our Studio ant Kihei Bay Surf to be SO NICE!! The studio was plenty roomy and very comfortable! There was absolutely everything we needed and more! We did prepare\eat a majority of our meals in (or to take with us) and the kitchen was well stocked! There was even a nice cooler to pac along our lunches for the day! There were also beach chairs, towels, fins, and more! Really made our stay so relaxed!
