The listing was a bit misleading as the property says "Mauna Kea Sunrise" but is actually in the Mauna Lani resort area. My mother joined us thinking we were staying at Mauna Kea and booked a room at Mauna Kea, about ten minutes up the road. Besides that the house was perfect for our party of 9 people. The garage has everything you need for a day at the beach, and the house was beautiful! Great access to all the resort amenities, and even bikes for our older teens who wanted to ride to the beach club.

The house and pool were just as amazing as in the pictures. The house had tons of space for our group of 7 and was well stocked with basic supplies and super clean. We loved how close it was to all our favorite beaches and the access to the mauna lani beach club was a bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This property was wonderful! The carpet in the living room had stains on it, as did the couch and chair cushions. The air conditioner didn't work the first day, but they had it fixed right away the next day. Overall, the location and property itself was great! Would recommend and would stay again!

Had a wonderful time at Mauna Lani property. The home was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Enough room for the eight of us. There were tons of beach gear in the garage. And the view from the upstairs master bedroom in the morning towards Mauna Kea was tremendous. Great place - highly recommend it!

Multigenerational family vacation for two weeks. The house was perfect! The open layout and kitchen made it perfect for leisurely group cooking. The kitchen is well stocked. We appreciated the beverage refrigerator. The beds were comfortable. Beach chairs and towels, and the bikes were great. Proximity to the pools and gym was perfect. Access to the beach club was very nice. All in all it, was a perfect vacation!

Our extended family had a lovely time enjoying the location and all the house offered. We appreciated the beach towels, snorkel gear, and chairs and coolers. Living room set up was more conducive to watch tv than socialize inside, so we mostly arranged ourselves outside to chat. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking.

This was our second time to stay at this same property. Excellent experience again. The property is clean and spacious. It is well stocked with beach amenities as well as equipment for snorkeling. Bikes were available for use as well. The beach club pass is very nice feature as well. Communication with the host for a couple of minor issues was very easy and timely, with any concerns quickly addressed. Will definitely stay here again for our next trip to the big island!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this home. We loved the outside area and used the spacious grill several times. The home was pretty well stocked with dishes, towels and cooking utensils. We especially appreciated all the snorkel equipment, boards, umbrella and beach chairs and towels available. I think we would come back to this home if we ever visited the island again. The Beach Park, 10 minutes away, was our go-to beach. It was amazing with calm waters so easy to swim and snorkel in with younger children. We also loved having lunch at the adjacent restaurant. The large pool in the community was a 5 minute walk away.
It would have been nice to have a garage door opener for the car as you had to walk around the side of the house, open a locked door to open the garage. You had to do the reverse to close the garage door. Also, only one Beach Park pass was provided which sometimes made it difficult because our group of 8 didn’t always want to go to the Beach Park at the same time. The pass was needed to enter the Park with your car. 2 passes would be nice for a large group.
Overall, this home provided a comfortable place for our family to enjoy and explore the Big Island. I want to come back. Thank you Heidi!

425 KaMilo was so beautiful, comfortable, welcoming and exceptionally clean. It was far better than a home away from home. The layout was perfect for our eight and truly relaxing; everyone just felt totally laid-back and carefree. The entire complex had many amenities that we took advantage of, or we just chilled at home enjoying the breezy winds blowing through the palm trees. Our host, Burt, quickly answered the few questions we had. The location was great as a midway point for exploring the island and everything there was to do. We booked this for our family specifically because it had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms then there would absolutely no fighting for bathroom space. The property is in a beautiful community and is very well kept. Very comfortable for 4 adults and 2 teens. This was our first time to the Big Island as we usually go to Maui but the big island did not disappoint. There are plenty of beach chairs, snorkels, umbrellas and floaters for everyone. The private access beach is very nice and easy to get to by car. There is also a Foodland close to the community entrance for grabbing the essentials. Costco is about 1/2 hr drive away. Activities such as snorkeling can be done at the private beach as well as by boat which is about a 1/2 hr drive from the property. The pools are and easy walk from the property and have a few shaded areas to lounge at. Both pools were well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

Overall, we had a lovely time at this home. It is very convenient with a beach club that has great snorkeling just a short drive away and the pool/gym are within walking distance. All of the rooms are nice and the living room has a large couch which makes it easy for a large gorup to spend time together.
The property manager was very easy to communicate with and responsive to any issues that arose. He was also very flexible with our check in time as our flight arrived pretty early in the day, which was very appreciated.
However, there were a few little things that made the stay a bit less than perfect.
1. There were only 9 dinner plates in the cupboard, and for a house that accomodates 10 people, it made meals difficult. we were constantly having to wash dishes or use the tiny desert plates.
2. Similar situation with towels. There were only 10 bath towels and 8 beach towels. It would have been nice to have more stocked.
3. The scissors in the kitchen don't work and there was no tin foil - those kinds of basic items are important when staying at a rental house.
4. The air conditioning in the downstairs smaller room was glitchy and it was often much warmer than the rest of the house.
5. Lastly, the sun shines intensely onto the patio and living room during the last half of the day. It would have been nice if they had some sort of roll down patio shade to block it a bit so it was more comfortable for us to use that space in the afternoon/early evening.

This home is well maintained, spotless and in a beautiful gated community in the Mauna Lani resort. We had 10 guests with my brother's family and mine, and it never felt crowded. Between the nice outdoor patio and the number of rooms, everyone had plenty of space. The home is well equipped, we had everything we needed for cooking and our time at the beach.
The access to the beach club is really outstanding! It is a calm bay with warm, shallow water for kids but also plenty of coral just at the edge to snorkel and enjoy. We spent the 4th of July at the beach there and had plenty of room to enjoy ourselves.
The host had great communication and was very helpful. We had a outstanding experience overall!

We loved the property, location was great, view was great. It was really nice to have a house and pool all to our selves. The way the bedrooms are set up, is great, they are spaced out so you don't run into each other.
The few thing's that bothered me, were the hot tub didn't work, I called management and no one called back, there were two light fixtures just barely hanging on, and it wasn't very clean. These were all things we worked around as we were really busy doing stuff.
Other than thise few things, we had a great time.

We loved this location as we stayed in this same area before. We enjoyed the beach equipment and toys. That was a really great touch.
The pictures are old and need updating in regards to the view from the lanai as the greenery and houses have blocked the view, and some furniture has changed.
Also, some of the furniture was falling apart and there were large stains on the carpet. When this was brought to their attention we received no response back.
The place will be all five stars with just a bit of upkeep.

We loved our stay here to celebrate our daughter’s 19th Birthday. House was wonderful - VERY clean and just as described with best stocked kitchen we have had. The back yard/lanai was the best part - already missing our morning coffees and breakfasts out on the lanai. Perfectly located - close enough to Kona but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful quiet. We will definitely be back!

This property was the perfect place for our reunion. It accommodated the 9 of us comfortably. It was fully equipped with all the things we could ever need for a perfect vacation. The pool was an added bonus. The layout was perfect for hanging out, listening to music, talking and enjoying meals. Most importantly the property was wheelchair accessible for my young niece.

Great experience and would recommend to all.We brought our family of 10 (my spouse and 3 kids ages 5-10, brother his spouse and 2 kids ages 5-10, and my mother) and there was enough space for all of us. The pool was a close walk and a beach was within a 5 minute drive. The gym facilities were excellent according to my sister in law and right next to the pool. There is a local grocery store 2 minutes from the location which was convenient. Activities were all at least a 30 minute drive away but the scenery makes it all worthwhile. Check in and check out were all smooth and the property manager was responsive to inquiries. I highly recommend this location.

The vacation stay at KaMilo on the Big Island was everything I dreamed a retirement getaway would look and feel like. The home is beautiful, spacious and has all the amenities one could possibly need - it was our second stay there! Mike was the host extraordinaire, checking in with us regularly and recommending unique and memorable experiences for our party of 8. There is a private beach club that comes with the experience - this year, Mike led us on walks through lava caves and a a free "fish pedicure" along the walk. The Big Island offers so many different terrains and areas to explore - and it's not overly crowded or touristy! We had a great breakfast at the Coffee Shack and a delicious dinner at Merriman's. I highly recommend this property and community. I stayed with a group of 9 friends and family and the description online is exactly as described. You do need to drive about 30 minutes to go south to Kona, the main town, but it was a perfect location to drive east to Hilo and explore the whole island. The amenities in the community were fabulous- from the private beach where we could lounge and snorkel, to a park and walking paths. We will definitely stay again!
