We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and items for the beach, the condo is nice and clean with beautiful ocean view.
My family love snorkeling and being able to walk across the street in the early morning to beat the crowd is great. A shopping plaza is just 3 min drive has some good dining options and grocery.

Our family with two young toddlers recently stayed at this condo, and it was an absolute dream! The location couldn’t have been better – just steps away from the beach, which made it so convenient for morning strolls and sunset views. The lanai was the perfect spot to unwind after a day in the sun, with the most breathtaking view of the sunset every evening. Watching the sky change colors from the comfort of the condo was truly magical.
The space itself was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living area was cozy and inviting. The beach gear provided (chairs, towels, umbrella) was a nice touch and made our beach days even better.
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, beachside retreat. I can’t wait to come back!

This property couldn't have been any better. Of all of the places I have rented, this was the most equipped with everything anyone could want or need. Ground floor description is not accurate. There is a flight of stairs down to the unit. The ONE TV is not a smart TV and requires 3 remotes to operate. The thermostat is either controlled remotely or broken. It kept turning completely off and trying to reset itself. Messages to the owner/property manager about these issues went unanswered.

We stayed the week here for our first trip to Hawaii! The house is beautiful and everything we needed for the week was there. It is steps from the beach and perfectly located behind Kahalu'u Bay Surf and Sea. They had everything that we needed to try out all of the activities on the beach. Ben made sure everything was ready and was incredibly responsive to any questions. Including the best surfing times.
Christopher at the shop was always friendly and helpful. We took surfing lessons and Eli and Tony were amazing instructors. They taught our whole landlocked family how to catch waves.
This was the perfect stay and I hope to return soon!

The stay was very nice. The property manager was very responsive. We had a small issue with one of the smoke detectors kept beeping like a low battery. Reached out to the property manager and they came and replaced it.

This rental was a decent value per night and has some nice amenities, like the hot tub, pool and BBQ. The bathrooms were nice, but for some reason there was quite limited hot water. The furnishings were also nice. The guest bedroom mattress was very stiff though.

The condo was clean and sweet and very comfy. We enjoyed the weather, turned off the a/c turned on the fans and opened the doors for sweet plumeria scented tradewinds. The area is deeply historical, I encourage everyone even thinking about staying here to read about the heiau's across the street and the history of the immediate area, it is deeply enriching to the experience. The condo is right on ali'i drive (the main road) which was busier than I thought it would be so we had to laugh at the amount of road noise and daily leaf blowers, but it's been some time since I've stayed in Kona town. I grew up in Puna so it was the most "city" experience I've ever had on the island, but the ability to walk across the street to a very safe beach for snorkeling was totally worth it since I was there with multiple generations of family. Thank you to the ohana who rent out their condo, it was a very pleasant stay, very convenient, we spent all our time at the condo on the lanai. Mahalo!

We didnt want to leave and we want to go back already! We are a family of 5, with 3 young children. In addition to the beach, my husband and I enjoy nice restaurants, and being able to relax and enjoy a few drinks together in a nice atmosphere, shopping and exploring and doing family activities and things with the kids.
Gail's condo was 100% exactly what and where we needed it! It was spacious, clean, comfortable and well laid-out. It had everything we needed and more, including a gorgeous view from the lanai and a great pool and hot tub, that the kids really enjoyed. The location was fantastic and right across the street from a wonderful little beach, and a short drive from everything else we needed! The property manager was super helpful and our stay could not have gone better. We are so thankful that we found this location and highly recommend it to anyone, with or without kids. We stayed 7 nights at this great property. The condo was very well situated to walk across the road and enjoy world class snorkeling. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything that we could want. Having snorkeling gear here was a bonus so we didnt have to pack our own. They had beach towels, chairs, and coolers available in the condo for you to enjoy your day at the beach. This house was incredible. Waking up to a beautiful view of the ocean and bay was incredible. We were close to the grocery store and to DT Kona so we had everything we needed within reach. The best thing about this place was by far our host, Ben. My wife and I got sick on our honeymoon and Ben went to buy us tea to help us. He was nothing but kind and helpful, and was an absolute amazing host. He allowed us to use snorkeling gear on the house, and we never saw him without a smile on his face. You have to stay here if you go Kona side.

This property was amazing from start to finish. Comfortable and well stocked, it accommodated two adults and three teenage boys comfortably. We loved walking across the street for incredible snorkeling and the teens enjoyed taking the trolley into town. We very much enjoyed our 6 night stay at this wonderful condo! The layout is so smart, and there is plenty of space. The kitchen is extremely well appointed, and the glass doors on the cabinets make it easy to find everything. But the best part is the location and the view.... it is spectacular. The lanai furniture is comfy enough to sit in for hours, and the included beach chairs and snorkel gear make it easy to enjoy the beach close up as well. The hosts were very accommodating for us, and we just cant say enough good things. We'd love to return someday!

This condo is located right on Alii drive across the street from a wonderful snorkeling spot. We were also pleasantly surprised at how quiet the condo is, given the multi-unit building and central location. The condo is well-kept, clean, beautifully designed, and well-appointed. We enjoyed the snorkel gear provided, sunsets on the beach or at the pool, and were able to easily make light meals in the well-appointed kitchen. The host was also very responsive when I had questions. Great place!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kahaluu Beach Villas! The condo was very spacious, and full stocked with everything needed for a lengthy stay. Leilani was great to work with, she was responsive and helpful. And the location was outstanding. We have snorkeled at many location, including Maui earlier in the trip, as well as Captain Cook Monument, and the Kahaluu Beach was the best by far! Coral was amazing, with many fish and sea turtles. Also, short drive to Kona and location attractions. If we come back to the Big Island, I would stay here again!

This is one of the nicest, cleanest, well stocked VRBOs we have ever stayed in. My mother is VERY picky and she commented multiple times about how clean it was and how well stocked the entire place was. Chad is a delight to work with and checked in a couple of times to make sure all was well. The property is fantastic and the location is fabulous with a nice beach across the street, restaurants and a grocery store close by. I would absolutely stay here again and would stay in any other property managed by Chad.

We had the pleasure of staying at Ben's rental in Aug 2024. Ben is a wonderful host. He's warm, welcoming and friendly, as are the team at the neighboring surf shop below who helped outfit us for snorkeling adventures at Kahalu'u beach just across the street. The house is in a stellar location and is even more lovely than the pictures; it's extremely well-appointed, and was a great base from which to explore the island. If given the chance, we would stay again in a heartbeat on our next visit to the Big Island!

Fantastic place for starting snorkeling but also interesting for experienced snorkelers. A few turtles were in cove. My husband and I, along with our teen boys, spent four days here last week. The home is everything the description/ photos promise and much, much more. The location can’t be beat! We enjoyed exceptional snorkeling across the street every morning and surfed most afternoons…also just right across the street. The main lanai might be the most unique part of this particular property, which includes breathtaking views, the murmur of surf lessons, custom-made bar/cooler, and charming geckos. Ben is a lovely human and took excellent care of us, as did the whole team at the surf shop. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in island surf and sea culture, this is the home for you!

This condo is the best choice for accommodations on Hawaii for a family. The condo is very clean and well maintained. The location and neighborhood are superb. Just walk across the street and snorkel in one of the best spots on the island. The owner Chad was very pleasant to work with and he regularly communicated with me leading up to our trip. He even recommended scuba diving options for us. We are a family with two grown boys and the condo was very spacious for everyone. We were able to cook our own meals in the well equipped kitchen and a very nice grocery store was nearby. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay in paradise.
