Janice was great at communication. She answered my emails in a timely manner. The condo was impeccably clean. The view and location was perfect. We stayed here for the Iron Man race and it was a great location.. I’m looking forward to rebooking this condo again!

The condo is wonderful. The bed is very comfortable, the lanai has a beautiful view, and the bathrooms are great. It's nice having a washer and dryer along with a dishwasher and other little extras. The kitchen is nice, the covered parking is convenient, and the location was perfect for us. Given the opportunity, I would be very happy to stay here again.

Our experience renting this condo was fantastic. The communication right from booking to leaving was some of the best we have experienced and we have rented dozens and dozens of houses or condos over the years. The condo itself was exactly as advertised and the pictures on the website were a perfect depiction of what you will get. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook 2 meals per day. The 2 main rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The 3rd bedroom is small and the door needs to be left open to get AC in there. The view from the balcony is exactly what you think of when you think Hawaii, the sunsets are truly magical. For our purposes the condo was in a perfect location for the itinerary we had planned. We visited in October and the property was relatively empty so the pool was a lot of fun to visit. I would not hesitate to rent this unit again in the future or to recommend it.

We loved our time here. It was equipped with everything we needed from kitchen supplies to beach gear. I loved sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean, the property was quiet and convenient for everything we wanted to do on the Kona side, the condo clean and comfortable, and lovely to boot. Unit was very clean and lovely. My kids didn't want to leave, they were so comfortable there. I especially loved the back deck, listening to the ocean and birds singing all while sipping my coffee. Even though there were other units surrounding us, the back deck made me feel magically alone in paradise.

Denise really went the extra mile to make sure this beautiful property was stocked with everything we could have needed and more. The property is large, spacious and had the feel of a house with a gorgeous view of the ocean. We enjoyed bringing our food out to the balcony so we could enjoy the view and hear the birds. The Ocean pool was so nice too.

I have stayed in many VRBO’s but this place is above and beyond stocked with everything you need. Plenty of pots and pans plates cups utensils and cooking utensils. Probably better stocked than my own kitchen. The view from the front lanai is exactly as pictured. Pool is super close. Highly recommend this place.

We can only list positive comments on this place. The complex sits on its own peninsula with the common ground kept in Tip-Top shape. The apartment is beautiful, was super clean and everything was in working order the entire time. It is stocked with all kinds of cooking appliances and utensils. There is a nice supermarket 5 minutes away so we prepared most of our meals at home (Gas BBQ by the pool). In terms of access to the Island, we thought its central location was ideal. The staff and owner were all very friendly and helpful and the rental process is very straightforward and organized. We actually were referring to the apartment as "Home". We would not hesitate to stay here again.

What a beautiful place. Easy to find, easy to check in, safe, quiet, great pools. Couple of restaurants and pizza place plus grocery store and Longs drugstore just up the hill. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

Beautiful views. Great pools. Quiet, comfortable. Well appointed kitchen. Nice supply of beach equipment. Had a problem with the sliding door to the lanai but it was promptly fixed. Loved the view off the lanai where we could watch the Manta tours sunset tours.

We have stayed in this section of Kanaloa before and always enjoy it. This unit has a wonderful golf and ocean view and the owner did a great job communicating (even calling me beforehand to give me some helpful information). There was also a nice gift basket when we arrived for our two week visit. I would definitely stay here again.

Couches and linen were very dirty, years of stains. Bedding and pillows need replacing immediately lots of stains. Main bathroom toilet needs repair sounds like water is coming to refill tank.

We’ve just finished having a wonderful experience staying in this condo. The view from the lanai was beautiful, with the sunrise greeting you in the morning, shade in the afternoon and the sunset flooding the vista with color each evening.

My guess is, when you stay you’ll rate it 5 stars. I just couldn’t and here’s why. The up stairs space is a pullout couch with an uncomfortable, super thin mattress pad. So we bought a 3 inch topper and it was fine. I learned later from the property management company that was the tipping point for the owners to buy a full-size bed. So enjoy. 😉
The kitchen is well stocked, the outside space at Sunset is stunning. Everything worked. Love the master suite and shower.

Property is clean, quiet, and comfortable.
Getting bedroom tv to work was a challenge, it took a couple of days ( and I’m fairly electronics capable).
Significant ant problem that property manager responded to. They returned couple of days later after a heavy rain.
Toilet innards may need replacing, not working well on both of them. All reported to prop mgr when we left.

We previously stayed at this property several years ago. It has been meticulously maintained and we loved staying here again!! The location is fantastic, just a short drive into town. One of the best amenities is the incredible views from every room!! The sunsets were beautiful. Janice was wonderful to work with. We highly recommend this property for anyone visiting The Big Island!

The location is very accessible for the beaches on the central west side of the island like Captain Cook or Two Step. The view from the lanai is beautiful. The sunset by the pool is stunning! Denise is very responsive.
The interior has some basic issues that should be addressed. It seems past its prime and could use a refresh on the cabinets and tile work. The blinds are missing slats and one was stuck open in the master so if you don’t like light that is an issue in the bedroom. Not to mention privacy!Maintenance was very helpful with fixing this when we talked to them outside the unit. They must have had issues with people stealing because Claudio (whose number we were given by the host) would only allow 1 roll of paper towels ! and was very RUDE about that issue saying we must buy our own if we wanted more. We had six people staying 5 days. The towels are threadbare and need replaced and we initially did not have enough for everyone. Again maintenance helped with this by asking housekeeping for us. The building could use a refresh.
For the cost it was a good home base and much better than a hotel. We have stayed at many condos and just felt there were a lot of little problems . We didn’t let that ruin our time and still had a great vacation in Paradise.

We really enjoyed our time at the property. We had 6 adults total. The two rooms were great. There was also an air mattress that was pretty comfortable to use. The location is convenient and we had such amazing views. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and cookware so we were able to cook comfortably. There was also some snorkeling gear and an umbrella we borrowed to go to the beach. We will definitely try and stay again on our next trip out to Kona.

We are frequent renters at Kanaloa at Kona and absolutely love the location and complex. In general, we enjoyed our recent stay in this unit (3301), but there were a few notable issues.
First, the positives: The condo was nicely decorated, very clean (see comment below), and in a great location in the complex with beautiful views of He'eia Bay and the inlet to Keauhou Bay.
There were a few issues during our stay, however, that made it less pleasant than most other times we've stayed at Kanaloa:
First, when we first entered the condo, the scent from the cleaning agents used by the cleaning team was absolutely overwhelming. It smelled like high concentration Pine-Sol or something like that. The scent was soo strong that it gave a couple of our guests headaches and they had to stay outside for hours. We opened up all the doors and windows (except when the AC was on), and the smell eventually dissapated after a day or so.
By-far the biggest issue during our visit, is that you cannot set the temperature to your liking when using the AC ... it is either on or off. The temperature is controlled by the owner's guidleines (and was set too high for our liking). Although the instruction binder on the coffee table says that the AC is set to 76 degrees, it was not ... it was set to 78. The property manager had it reduced to 76 the next day, but it was still too hot to sleep comfortably for any of us. I would have much rather paid extra each day to control the temp myself.

The unit had an amazing view. We sat on the Lanai for all our meals, and spent many hours in the mornings watching the kids play in the pool. The complex is lush and well-manicured. The pools and tennis courts are all close to the unit. The unit itself is large and accommodated our family easily. There were plenty of dishes, spices, utensils, paper towels, garbage bags, beach towels, and beach chairs. The owners were very flexible and easy to reach. We were going to need an extended stay if our flights were cancelled due to the recent Hurricane, and they quickly responded to our response and were a great support. Overall, an excellent experience.

The property was clean, well furnished, and in a wonderful location. We enjoyed a beautiful waterfront view every morning when we ate breakfast on the covered porch. The three resort pools made for refreshing relaxation after a day exploring. The condo community was very quiet and peaceful.

This family trip consisted of 3 generations from kiddos to grandparents. We had a wonderful vacation in this beautifully maintained 3 bedroom condo. It was perfectly clean, well stocked with plenty of amenities and highly organized. Communication was clear and timely. Check in / check out was a breeze. The resort grounds were gorgeous. There are stairs to navigate if mobility is a concern. Would definitely return in a heartbeat and hope to do so soon! Thank you for your opening your ohana to our family! Mahalo and aloha!

Could not have asked for a better condo for our family of four (two kids under 10). The location was convenient to the water, shopping and dining options, and golf. Walking out onto the lanai and looking out into the Pacific every morning was the highlight. The Kanaloa at Kona complex has three pools, including one with a beautiful ocean view. The condo was well-apportioned with all of the necessities and there is also a closet full of beach equipment and toys. Would highly recommend and love to stay here again!

My daughters and I rented 3 condos in this resort. All three condos were different and very nice. The Turtle House was unique with the lovely master bedroom on the third floor. I loved this room, and claimed that as my room.
Hopefully when you read this review they will replace the folding beach chairs.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely condo for a month and it was absolutely amazing. The best parts were having coffee on the lanai every morning, the ample space, beautiful decor, and just the ease of feeling at home. The bed slept comfortably, and the A/C kept the space cool. This is the third time our family has stayed at 2202 at Kanaloa. We love this property and all the amenities it offers. The condo itself is very beautifully appointed and the furnishings are comfortable and make for a relaxing stay. The property managers are top notch and very easy to work with and reach. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary while we were there and the property manager left a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts for us which was such a treat and was such a nice touch. The condo has everything you need for a wonderful stay. We love coming back here for all our vacations to Hawaii Island!

We spent a few days in early Aug. This condo had everything we wanted in a vacation home.
First, the fabulous ocean view. Enjoyed our morning and evenings seeing people canoe and boats coming in.
A home filled with good quality beach chairs/ towels, snorkels and water shoes. This made our beach visits even better.
The grocery store was minutes away and I could use the kitchen which was well stocked. Just 15min away from Kona, we did the manta ray tour and the Mina kea sunset tours.
