We just returned from an unforgettable stay at this beautiful condo in Hawaii, and it was everything we could’ve hoped for! The condo was incredibly clean, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
The location was perfect— a quick walk to the beach, pool, coffee and more. Plus, the condo provided everything we needed for beach days, including chairs, towels, and an umbrella!
The hosts were fantastic, answering all of our questions quickly. We truly felt welcomed and at home.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, convenient, and luxurious Hawaiian escape, this condo is the perfect choice. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again. Mahalo!

Fantastic location and perfect space for the three of us. Spacious floor plan, great outside balcony with built in bbq, table for 4, beautiful grounds and ocean view. 2 min walk to pool and beach area. Pool area had plenty of chairs, towels and the views were amazing. I would definitely stay in this location and property again. Suggestion would be to have basic spices in condo such as saLt and pepper. We entered at night and it was impossible to read the building numbers, so better written instructions are needed.

The condo was a real disappointment and misrepresented in the listing photos. The built in high-end microwave could not be used because the digital display did not function properly. It was replaced by a cheap counter top model. The refrigerator had broken shelves and drawers. The oven was not really useable since it smoked and the built in stove-top exhaust vent did not work. Some of the provided knives were peeling the top layer. (weird) There was no coffee, pepper or other items that are normally provided to get you settled in.
The couch and chairs in the living room were as bad as we've ever seen in a rental.
The lanai had a low-end table with five chairs,
one was nearly ripped in half. (not the ones pictured on VRBO) The view from the lanai was not good.
Bugs, bugs bugs.. there were no screens leading to the lanai so doors had to be kept closed at all times. Inside the condo we had lots and lots of brown bugs (roaches? beetles?), little centipedes, ants and even a extremely large spider. We have lived on the Big Island, never had problems controlling bugs.
Through all this Grand Welcome and VRBO were good, responsive and really tried to help us, but the problems (bugs) were too much.
We left 10 days early. Grand Welcome refunded for the days we left early and VRBO refunded their entire fee.
I would use them both again.
Kolea is a beautiful complex. Great location, close ocean access. Great pool and beach club.

We loved our ten-day visit to Kolea 16F. We have always wanted to stay in this complex, and the condo didn’t disappoint. It’s so close to A-Bay and the shops. The best running and hiking trails outside the front door. Wonderfully stocked, and Hannah was a terrific host.

beautiful and clean unit, from the inside out to the lanai. Grill worked great. The bathroom/showers also felt very clean which I appreciate the most.. Walking distance to the pool which is beautiful, peaceful and stress free if you have toddlers/infants.
We had to buy some spices and laundry detergent(sensitive kind), and cleaning wipes for the counters and small messes. Other than that, the unit was pretty equipped!

The Kolea condo was truly incredible. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed and we travel quite a bit. Very spacious which made for a comfortable experience. Grilling on the lanai was a great dinner experience. Proximity to A Bay beach was great, especially with a toddler. We definitely plan on coming back!

This was our second time to visit the big island and we decided to stay at the same condo as last year. This is a great place to stay and has everything we need. The condo has two nice bedrooms with large bathrooms, a nice size living room and great kitchen. It is very clean inside the condo and it is an amazingly beautiful landscaped resort and is quiet. The Lanai is my favorite as we spent every morning and evening listening to the birds and overseeing the beautiful trees and landscaping. We cooked outside a few times on the grill as well.
We will be back at some point and most likely will stay in the same condo as it is such a nice place to go home to after a long day of hiking and exploring the island. Also, conveniently located within walking distance to some nice shops and restaurants. Definitely a great place to stay!

Property is located in a great location. No shower curtains only to discover them in the washer and note found on shelf (which I couldn't see due to height) things in washer. Not enough time to finish laundry. suggestion would be to take to laundromat. Also bathroom rug seems very dirty.
Other than these few items, we enjoyed the property, convenience of location. There was no binder to be found according to letter on desk by dining room. Did not know how to contact anyone if we had questions or notification we left early so cleaners could come.

We had an incredible weeklong stay at the Hula Moon Villa. The check-in process was incredibly easy, the condo is immaculately maintained, beds are super comfortable, and the owners have provided all the amenities you could need! The kitchen is well stocked, beach towels are provided, and all kinds of beach equipment is available for use, including chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling equipment, etc.
The location is also fantastic. So much is within walking distance - < 5 min walk to incredible A-bay beach, 5 min walk to the Marriott, 7 min walk down the beach to Lava Lava Beach club. The Hilton, Kings' Shops, and Queens' Marketplace are all between 10 - 15 mins walking. So convenient!
Highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.

We had 9 people total in our extended family trip. We ended up staying 4 nights on the big island. Half of our group already had a condo at Koleo, so I searched high and low to find a second condo in the same complex for the rest of us. Luckily, Vrbo had several choices. Great location, and a great unit. We were confortable, and our host thought of some great touches, like extra towels and a cooler for the beach. They were also very responsive. One suggestion - have twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. It would be tight, but more flexible for different guest configuration.

My husband, two children (ages 3 years old and 9 months) really enjoyed our stay at Kolea 6D earlier this month. The condo was beautifully decorated and looked even nicer in person. We loved the indoor/outdoor living space. It is about a 3-minute walk to the pool and a 7-minute walk to closest point in A-Bay.
Wendee graciously provided us with a pack-n-play for my son based on my request before arriving. It didn't have a sheet unfortunately, but we found a sheet in one of the cabinets in the laundry room on our last day, of course.
The only issue we had was (1) the internet wasn't working (it turned out to be unplugged, but that was an easy fix once I identified the problem), and (2) my daughter caught a bug and vomited was she was taking a nap; we had difficulty finding extra sheets. Although there was a linen closet with extra sheets, the extra sheets for her room was actually in one of the drawers in her room and not in the linen closet.
Anyway, overall, we had a wonderful time here. We recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful week at the condo. The location close to the beach club and beach was great with the kids, literally just a quick stroll over the road from the verandah.
Waikoloa Beach Resort also offers some great shopping and cafe’s. The check in process and communication was great! We will be back!!

We've been to the Big Island a few times now and this is our favorite place we have ever stayed. The condo was clean and spacious, with truly everything you could ever need to cook a meal (even a rice cooker!) and the property is gorgeous and close to everything. Spent 2 weeks with my family which includes spouse and 2 young children. The home was beautiful and well laid out for our family. The community amenities were excellent with the 2 pools and only 2 min walk from the gorgeous Aneaho'omalu beach where we saw several sea turtles while swimming. Communication was also excellent to clarify things on the day of arrival. They also provided a perfect recommendation for rental crib, wagon and toys for the kids and well stocked home with plenty of beach toys as well. A++

We had a great time and were lucky to find Hula Moon at Kolea! This is the best place to stay on Big Island if you want a relaxed vacation . The villa has everything you need for longer stay , very spatial and comfortable. The Kolea itself is a gem with very nice landscaping, pool, hot tub and a relaxing vibe. It is only a few steps from the beach and restaurants. We have been many times to Big Island and stayed in Mariott, Hilton, and other villas in the area. Hands down, Kolea is the best deal you can possibly get!

The condo was as presented on VRBO. Very well a portioned in the kitchen. Towels and linens were plenty full. Washer and dryer worked fine. Very nice pool area very short walk to pool and ocean. Had a couple small issues Ben took care of them. The only issue that didn’t get taken care of was the icemaker in the refrigerator never worked. There was a small portable icemaker, but it really wasn’t enough for a family of seven. When I emailed Robert for questions and or concerns he was very prompt and always very helpful. I would stay here again.

The condo exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space both inside and out for our family. It is right across from the community pool and beach access. The large lanai is great for lounging, opens up to the grass area, and has a BBQ. Condo was very clean, check-in was easy, and the property manager was very attentive to questions we had.

Ignoring the negative reviews and focused on the positive ones??...however....the negative ones are correct.
1. Pictures not accurate (patio furniture is basic Target stuff...not nice padded furniture like in the pictures....there is no radio/stereo in the place...there were in the pictures)
2. Limited kitchen supplies and basic at best....no can opener???? Knives cheap and dull....Cutting boards think and flimsy....no plastic cups to take down to the pool.
3. Beds in 2nd bedroom are squeaky, roll around and are seeminly short (my 5' 7" daughters feet hung off the end.
4. AC System programmed to shut off at night and hard to figure out if you don't own a similar system.
5. Bugs are bugs...this is understandable in a 1st floor property...they will fly in if you open the patio in the evening...that's just how it is.
6. Propane ran out after two cooking sessions and in the middle of a third session...the other tank available was empty...had to call to get them replaced.
Kolea is an awesome facility, but book a different unit not from this company.

The apartment is better than what you expect, the complex/resort is stunning, surrounding areas are simply beautiful, having so close markets, shops, restaurants, and all you need! also, the apartment has everything for the beach, and beyond. The location and proximity to A Bay are amazing. The unit is great with lots of space, an amazing lanai with ocean views. Where this rental falls short is in the “little things” as others have mentioned. No beach equipment with the beach a five minute walk away is a head scratcher. I watched lots of people in the complex with chairs and umbrellas provided by their rental. Not one spice, condiment or cooking supply is not on par with other vacation rentals. We didn’t even get a sponge to wash pots and pans. No kleenex and tv remote batteries were dead. The units instructions say you are getting a “starter pack” of essentials like TP, trash bags, toiletries, etc and if you run out it’s on the tenant to provide. That was a new one. Others have made similar comments but the corporate entity that runs this rental doesn’t seem to be interested in listening which is too bad. And not providing these trivial incidentals seems petty on their part. We will definitely stay in this complex again but probably in another unit unless these things change.

What an amazing home! Our family enjoyed the location, views and spaciousness of this rental. It was beyond our expectations. The beach, pool and shopping were all within walking distance. I took early morning walks on the trail along the shore and enjoyed seeing many turtles. Your home had everything we needed including beach and snorkel gear. It was an amazing vacation and our twin HS graduates loved their 8 days on the Big Island. Thank you for a fabulous stay and a vacation we will never forget. We will be returning!

The condo building and interior were excellent. Location is a short walk to the pool, and just a bit further beyond the pool to the beach. The beach was good for swimming / bobbing. It wasn't good for snorkeling or boogie boarding but maybe the waves were just low when we went.
My only complaint is that the twin beds are absolutely terrible. They are not suitable for anyone but children. My 36 year old brother chose to sleep on the couch instead of that bed.

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Steve and Maryanne's lovely condo. Everything looked exactly like the pictures. We stayed for nearly 10 days, and it really felt like a home away from home. Steve and Maryanne thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible - there were beach towels for use in the laundry room, shampoo and conditioner in each of the showers, rice/flour/spices for us, and of course, we loved having beach chairs and umbrellas at our disposal. Above all, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We are used to staying at condos where things are sparse when it comes to cooking (one didn't even have an oven mitt!), but this condo had everything! We don't have little kids anymore, but I appreciated that they had plates and utensils for babies/toddlers.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't glow about how beautiful the condo complex is. There's a really nice private pool and direct access to the beach. We really loved staying here!
