My F-I-L gave me a list of what he wanted for a 50th wedding anniversary for him and my M-I-L and my wife and my 25th. He didn't care where in Hawaii, but he wanted to be as close to the ocean as possible. From the moment we walked in the door until after we got back home, he kept saying how amazing it was that I got them everything they wanted on his list on this condo. Everyday we got to watch some very good surfing while listening to the waves crash. Everything is kept in great shape and the owner has done a great job maintaining and decorating the unit. Plenty of room for the 6 of us that stayed. There was a closet with a bunch of stuff for the beach. We had brought along a beach tent and a couple of chairs and never had to go and rent or buy anything else. I highly recommend this unit. Close to everything along the strip while being far enough away to remain fairly quite.

We loved having a Lanai right on the ocean with beautiful views. Condo spacious, clean and comfortable. Location of condo was convenient for our day trips around the island. No A/C but didn't miss it. Host left instructions for keeping condo cool. With all the windows open we were to enjoy the soundtrack of crashing waves on the rocks below. I would recommend this condo.

Very nice condo facing the ocean, ten feet from the water. An older property and well maintained. No air conditioning and it is not needed with the ocean breeze. Two beaches close by. Sand there is course than other beaches on Kona. Close to shops and other activities. The condo is quite, has a pool and an elevator.

We wanted someplace very nice to celebrate a once in a lifetime family get together and birthdays. We went online looking for a special place where we could all celebrate and be together and that was on the ocean. It was even more beautiful then it was advertised. Everything was clean, neat, well taken care and was in a very nice area with an ocean view. It was everything that it was advertised and more. We had four other condos in the next unit. We had 16 family members in all and it was a wonderful time together and full of special memories for all of us.

The location of the property was amazing! The set up of the unit was very nice however, the one ac unit did not serve the entire unit at all. It was super hot even in the main bedroom which the ac unit was nearest. The second bedroom never cooled off the entire stay which was very disappointing when trying to sleep.

The unit is lovely with great views. Super clean and exactly as advertised. The property manager is extremely helpful and supportive, even helping with sending back some laundry left in the dryer.
My ONLY feedback that’s less than 5 stars is that the overall property is old and extremely run down in places. There is one elevator not close to the unit so we had to carry suitcases up and down stairs. The pool area is not very enticing and the whole property is in need of a refresh.
If you’re able to overlook these things the unit is lovely and the sunsets are amazing. It’s right on the ocean.and air conditioned. Super comfortable.
The unit could use some BASIC things like salt and pepper and things that the average person needs but doesn’t want to have to buy at the grocery store for a few days or a weeks vacation.
Easily could be 5 stars across the board…just a tiny bit short. We had a great time!

The property was very clean, in a good location close to Kona-Kailua, and had an amazing view. A very comfortable overall stay for 9 days. We would definitely recommend this property again for anyone who's looking for several nights in Kona, but doesn't want to pay the exorbitant cost for a resort. The immediate area is generally quiet and located close to several public beaches. There are other really nice beaches within easy driving distance. We had a great time here and would definitely recommend again. We had the opportunity to watch two sea turtles up close one day as they frolicked in the waters just in front of the building. The owner was great too - very responsive, and kind to let us have late check-out for a night flight. Definitely a great place to stay for two people looking for an adventure on big island.

This is a comfortable functional space with an amazing view and location. If you want fancy frills go to Waikaloa. To experience Kona with a focus on nature and real Aloha spirit I recommend this property. Poke Bar onsite but get there early cuz once the fresh catch is gone they close! BBQ on the beach watch the sunset. Wake up to turtles sunning on the lava rocks. Just far enough away from the hustle of north alii dr. (Stay away for the tourists).

This was the perfect vacation condo. The ocean breezes were so nice that we didn't even have to turn on the air conditioner, although we were glad we had that option. The condo had everything we needed. We loved using it as a base for our adventures or just sitting on the lanai and watching surfers, turtles, and even some fish. We would 100% stay here again if we had the chance.

We loved this condo!! The view was amazing and we could see the sunset from the lanai! Our first night there was the best sunset then entire trip and we got some amazing pictures! The location was convenient close enough to town to find great food and shopping. It was a 2 hour drive to VNP and about 1 1/2 drive to Hilo. Loved that we could go down to the water and even found some turtles on a few days. Only 1 minor complaint - the ceiling fans/light all operated on the same remotes so if my kids went to bed early and we didn't turn off the light in the master then we would turn on their light and master light would go off. Never figured that one out and it was a game to get all the lights off each night. Not a deal breaker for us!

This was our last stop on a 2 week tour of Hawaii and it didn't disappoint. The large Lanai, with comfortable table and loungers were awesome. The towels provided were large and plush, the bathrooms were great, rain shower heads are awesome. The beds were comfortable and the couch was very nice. We were able to check in early and communication with the owner was easy and quick. The kids loved the pool and hot tub and we all enjoyed exploring the lava out front at low tide.

We had a party of 4 staying at Kona Bali Kai during the July 4th holiday week. The views from the lanai were exceptional and the ocean sounds were amazing at night (for the master suite). Sunsets while having dinner outside were perfect. One downside we experienced was the 2-hr timer on the one and only air unit in the condo. It made it impossible to have air conditioning at night unless you woke up to restart it every few hours. It also didn't reach the living area or 2nd bedroom so consider this when making your plans to visit. There is plenty of options for open airflow in this unit however, so using it when there was an ocean breeze was nice. For the guests in the second bedroom, they experienced some negatives due to the street noise - it was loud most hours of the late night and early morning and with the necessity of having windows open for air flow there was no way to avoid the distraction. The cabinetry in the unit could also use some updating / repair but overall the unit met our needs and we enjoyed our visit to Kona while staying here. The management company was easy to work with and communicated with us while we were on site to make sure our stay was comfortable. We loved the nearby snorkeling and downtown area that was a short drive away. Would recommend this to friends, specifically if only 2 people in the group.

The condo has recently been renovated and was very clean and well equipped with everything you need.It is perfectly located on the top floor in the middle of the building with the elevator very close.We never used the air conditioning because we left the sliders open so there was always a slight breeze and we could hear the waves crashing right below. The view and sunsets were spectacular. My only regret was we didn’t stay here longer. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at this amazing condo. Everything was fantastic and the view from the lanai is epic. Our family had a wonderful stay here. The A/C works great and the beds were comfortable. There was a covered parking garage and a nice pool in the courtyard that was shaded by the building. We had three couples and a single guest and had plenty of space.

The beds were comfortable as well.The lanai has comfortable seating and of course the view is number one of all things. If you like poke, The Poke Shack is on site and it is very good! We had a great time here! We enjoyed the beautiful ocean view in the mornings and evenings and the sunsets. Close to manta ray viewing location. The master bedroom has great views and air conditioning. Kids did complain about the car noise. Guest rooms only have fans. We would definitely stay here again!

The room is very dirty/dusty, the people in the room above ours sounded like they were moving furniture every night at all hours, and the property manager banged on our door (scared us to death) screaming that we were smoking.. then texted the person we were renting from that smoke was coming out when we opened the door (which is a flat out lie, my husband has horrible asthma and I can assure you we were not smoking). I would not recommend this place at all… stay far away!

This condo was absolutely amazing! A beautiful spot right on the water, hearing the ocean waves crashing in!
The apartment has absolutely everything you need, from personal amenities to beach and snorkeling gear.
The drive to nearby beaches and to the restaurants on Ali'i drive are both easy.
Mike was responsive when I called with a question, communication was easy.
The only downside is the bedroom in the front of the apartment gets a bit warm, the AC unit and the doors to the lanai are both in the back of the apartment so don't cool the front bedroom as easily.
Would happily recommend to anyone looking to stay in Kona!

This property has EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING. I am a frequent VRBO traveler and this is by far the best property that I have stayed.
Everything described in the listing and pictures was 100% accurate.
The communication with the owner Mike was next level. he was proactive, helpful and I felt a genuine effort by him to ensure we had the best possible stay. The written materials and communication he provided was off the hook: multiple suggested itineraries, best places to eat, locations of things to do broken down by mileage and time from condo, directions, checkin process, and a complete "bible" in the condo of literally all the amenities, appliances and "how tos".
The property was immaculately clean, fresh and inviting.
The kitchen had every gadget one would need.
The location is amazing. We sat out on the balcony every morning watching 4-6 surfers. You are so close to the ocean that even with the doors closed you can loudly hear the waves. The condo is about a 5-10 minutes drive into Kailua. About a 30 minute walk. Parking is readily available but it will cost you - about $10/hour in most public lots. We took an Uber once, which was actually sketch do to the driver. On the return trip, we had a better driver, but she informed us that there were only like 10 Uber drivers, not sure if that was true but it did take some time to get linked with a driver on the app.
On a scale of 1-10 this property/owner are an easy 10+. I'd write more but I'm limited by space.

Just returned from a great week in Hawaii! The condo was clean and well stocked. We loved sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the fabulous ocean view! Plenty of fans provided which was very much appreciated. It took us a couple days to adjust to the humidity, but the fans along with the ocean breeze helped us to stay cool. This condo was probably the best part of our stay in Hawaii. It was comfortable and clean, meeting all expectations, and with just about everything one would need provided to you (even things like a first aid kit, rain umbrellas, etc). Inviting touches are found throughout. The unit is a short drive from the bustling area of shops and restaurants. Our favorite part of all: the ocean just a matter of feet from the large and comfortable bed. Falling asleep to waves crashing is exactly what we needed— the cherry on top to a wonderful stay.
