The Lanai was huge with spectacular views. You could see the yellow fish from the balcony in the below. Beautiful sunsets. Warm pool, large Jacuzzi and great location. Could hear the sounds of the waves all night. Close enough to town, but not too close. Great launching pad for all the island amenities. We found the condo itself to be well stocked, very clean and nicely updated. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. As noted in another review, the bedroom facing the pool area has sheer curtains only so mornings are early and bright😎 Air conditioning and ceiling fans kept us comfortable as needed. The grounds are very well maintained with gorgeous landscaping. The community is very quiet which was fine for us on this vacation but could be seen as prohibitive to some: no talking on your phone or playing music on the lanai. Beautiful sunsets from the deck. Plenty of parking and wagons to carry your groceries or luggage to the building. The location was great and a perfect home base to go exploring the island from. We grilled by the pool and made many meals in the kitchen and found plenty of dishes, utensils and glassware. (We has friends staying in another unit that this was not the case)We would love to come back again!

Property located on the first floor. It have beatiful lanai which is feeled private and surrounded by lash foliage. Entrance door is opened by code provided by management. Unfortunately entrance door do not have any deadbolt option. It means anybody with code may open door any time - day or night. Unit have 2 small airconditioners. They helped to keep comfortable temperature inside, but without constant air circulation we could feel light odor of unclear origin. Management was very responsive and friendly. They provided bags to keep air fresh, so we had no complains about odor after that. The place is beatifull and we were happy staing there.

My family of 6 (4 to 74) had a wonderful 2 week stay at this property. Great views, great amenities, very responsive and helpful hosts, great location (close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, groceries). Place had everything one would expect of their own property - EXTREMELY well stocked with pool/ beach/ games/stationery/books/guides and brochures/utensils everything. Even had wet bag to hold phone wallet in water. We were very sad to leave and would 100% stay here again.

The apartment was in a good location, however, there were not many other positives. Before our stay I was asked to sign an over the top waiver and the cleaning fee increased despite already being booked and paid for. The condition of the property was poor, it was at least a decade overdue a renovation. The carpet was stained all through the apartment and furniture tired and tatty. The bath filled when showering and took a long time to drain. The safety gate lock on the mezzanine level was broken. It was described as gorgeous on the description but it really was in need of a complete renovation.

We spent nine days in this apartment. The apartment is nicely and cozily furnished. However, the sofa bed in the living room squeaks, which our children found uncomfortable.
What was very disruptive were the construction works that took place in various apartments of the complex throughout our stay. We were promised that there would be no construction noise on the weekend, but this was not true. Additionally, the neighbors were sometimes too loud, which disturbed our stay.
The complex is very well-maintained, and it is a pleasure to relax by the pool when there is no noise.

This is a great condo in a great location. A wonderful view with tons of natural light. The lanai is perfect for hanging out on and watching the waves crash on the lava. You feel like you are right on the edge. The condo had everything you would need for a great stay.

We loved our stay here. The condo was spacious with a great well stocked kitchen and two large comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. There was a private lanai with nice views of the ocean and beautiful landscaping. There was a large selection of beach equipment to make beach trips more fun. The location was close to beaches, shopping, and restaurants. The property had a great pool and hot tub with access to the shoreline with amazing sunsets. We did not use the tennis courts but they looked very nice. The parking was close to the condo and in the shade.

This was a nice location with a nice little condo. 2 bed 2 bath right in the oceanfront. Enjoyed mornings on the lounge chairs on the oceanfront with some mornings spotting dolphins. Close enough to walk the 1 mile to downtown historic Kailua and central enough to drive any direction to get to North to great beaches, east to Hilo for waterfalls or south to Kona/Captain Cook for Kona coffee and great snorkeling. We found incredible tropical fruit everywhere. Jody put everything you need to know in the guest binder. She was also quickly responsive to email. The condo has everything you need in the kitchen, for the beach, and for children. My whole family enjoyed the stay! Thank you

Beautiful grounds, nice location, and well maintained condominiums. This property was outdated especially from pictures displayed. I would recommend a unit with a better view. This one had a low table on patio that prohibited a good ocean view. 3 flights of stairs, no elevator made carrying stuff a challenge especially with children. The unit was well stocked with kitchen supplies and equipment. Only one tv in living room. No tvs in bedroom or loft. Unit needs some updating.

Very much enjoyed my stay. Everything was exactly as described. I really liked the ground floor view framed by the beautiful landscaping. So convenient for getting to and from car. Kitchen had everything I needed and more, even a garlic press.

Overall we loved our stay. Our first 2 days were a bit tough due to both air conditioning until not working. The management company was able to replace these but it did take 2 days. They refunded us these days and we were able to find a hotel for the nights. We happened to arrive in a heat wave with very little trade winds to keep us cool. Without the air conditioning, the condo was pretty miserable. With the new units, the place was very comfortable.
Everything else was wonderful. The condo itself was clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a TV in the bedroom or loft but not a huge deal. The location is great and I can’t imagine a better condo set up. We used the pool and spa daily and everyone at the condo was kind and courteous.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kona Makai unit. The property is very nicely maintained, and full of beautiful lush gardens. It backs onto the shore & listening to the waves was very relaxing. The unit was very clean and very well stocked. You have everything you need there to prepare your own meals including lawn chairs, The lanai is shaded & we enjoyed sitting out there having our breakfast most mornings. The location is good & is only about 1.5 miles from the center of Kona. It was an ideal location for exploring the Big Island.We would certainly recommend this vacation rental

This is the perfect condo to watch the sunset from your balcony. With ocean views from both the front (bedroom) of the unit and the balcony, it's hard to do anything else but admire. This property is a gem. A piece of heaven. We felt it was our own little slice of paradise.This was exactly what we wanted. The description was perfect to what we experienced. Great rental unit. Super clean and organized which made our stay the best it could be. A great homebase to launch our adventures on the island. And always nice to end the day with the best sunset we've ever seen followed by a swim in the pool and a hot tub. The unit had all the amenities needed and best of all it had in-unit laundry services which was so amazing and allowed up to do a carry-on for our time away instead of luggage. So amazing The property group was great to work with as well. We actually stopped in to the office while randomly passing by. The two girls in the office where easy to deal with and were so genuine and helpful. They followed up during our stay. Kept in contact and I can't say enough great things about the property management company especially Blake and the two lovely ladies in the office. We will definitely stay here again without question and have already told so many of our family members the same. While there, we totally enjoyed the Volcano National Park, the black sand beach, the local strip in Kona, and of coarse the kona coffee. A great stop for everyone is just a few hundred feet away at GREEN FLASH for some of the best breakfast coffees and drinks around. And great conversations.Canada is home but will always remember this vacation!!!

Zero complaints about this property. It was all we could ask for and more. Perfect location. Beautiful property. Gorgeous and peaceful grounds. Lovely view. Close to all the activities and fun. The house its self was lovely, easy to navigate kitchen, even had beach chairs and snorkels to borrow. It fit our family perfectly and everyone had their own space. My favorite part was the patio for the sunrise.
The management was so great and willing to help with storing our luggage a little longer on check out due to an injury I had while in Hawaii. They were so helpful and that made everything even better.
I highly recommend this place. You won’t regret it. We will be back!

The location of this vacation rental was great. The view of the ocean from the lanai was amazing. The place was cozy and comfortable. Had some issues with the kitchen sink. Heard water bubbling and there was an odor that didn’t smell good.. like black olives or something. The bathroom sink drained slowly. We looked for drain clog remover but couldn’t find any. Thank you

The property was in excellent condition and had a beautiful view across the pool area to the ocean. The interior was very nicely appointed, with two bedroom both with en suite, full kitchen, roomy living room, and washer/dryer in the unit!
The quirks:
1) When we got to the complex, there was a note on the door from the property manager to fill out a form and drop it in the box. We had no communication with the manager during our stay.
2) The 'front' bedroom (facing the pool area) had only a sheer curtain on the window! In the evenings, we could see, and obviously could be seen by, our neighbors -- whether we wanted to or not.
Bottom line - regardless of the small quirks, the property was awesome and we'd definitely book again!!

Loved the quiet property, parking was easy, pool refreshing, gardens spectacular. The view is incredible. The unit itself is top quality and the cleaning service does an excellent job. Everything in excellent condition. Everything very well maintained. Newish appliances, kitchen very clean and had just the right amount of supplies. The decorating of the condo was very well done. Just love the walk in shower. Fans and air conditioning in living room and bedroom worked well and was quiet.
Trash was located near to unit, area was clean and well maintained. I liked that everything was to be separated for recycling. We never had a reason to contact the property manager. Everything went smoothly the entire time we stayed here.
