The set up and location of this property was fantastic. Quick walk to resort and Beach Club. Easy pool access. Property manager was helpful and quick to respond to an issue with the 1/2 bath upon arrival, but it was unusable for our entire stay. She was very accomodating with a late check out due to our significantly delayed flight. This was unexpected and greatly appreciated.
Overall the layout of the unit was great for our family of 4. And, the unit was well stocked with laundry, dishsoap, paper products and beach gear. Furnishings were clean and comfortable. However, the bathrooms were very dated and the master shower had mildew. Would be the perfect rental with updates.

Great location in an unusually lush spot on the Kohala Coast. The Mauna Lani development offers many trails, golf, and restaurants to make it a wonderful Big Island destination stay. The condo was beautifully appointed with even more amenities and conveniences than listed. It was more like staying in the post guest house of a friend than a rental property. The snorkeling around the point at the beach club was unexpectedly fantastic -- some of the best on the Big Island.

This first-floor condo was in the perfect location, from our perspective. The ocean view is to your right off the lanai, but the fishponds are directly out back. Egrets, herons, jumping fish, and just a tranquil, wildlife-rich setting. We walked the fishpond loop every morning after sunrise, we were close to the beach club cove for snorkeling and grabbing lounge chairs on the sand, and it was an easy walk to the Auberge resort for breakfast. Even though the lanai is a walkout on the first floor, there is no foot traffic whatsoever on the lawn, because there is no throughway in front of the condo - the lawn ends in a monkeypod tree to your left. The fishpond paved path passes by below the condo, but on the other side of landscaped hedges, so we didn't feel on-display.
FYI for future renters: There are a ton of snorkel fins in the outdoor closet. We only found two functional adult mask/snorkel combos (might not be enough for your party, depending), but there are at least 8 good sets of fins in a variety of adult and child sizes. So definitely try them on before you rent.
We've stayed at the Terrace before, but J104 is our new go-to location! We will be back.

We cannot say enough good things about this property. The owner, Lee, was an incredible host. Very accommodating when our travel plans were interrupted by a flight cancellation. The suite itself is above five stars! Spacious, comfortable, Lee has thought of everything. As a perfectionistic person myself, I really appreciated all the signs and guidance on where things were located and how to manage the temperature in the suite. The kitchen is incredible with top end appliances. We did not cook, but if you were a chef, you would love it here. The living room sofa is so comfortable and the TV has many channels.
The king size bed is very comfortable.
The main bathroom is huge and, lots of space to spread out cosmetics and grooming supplies on the double sink countertop. Huge walk-in shower.
The location of this unit is truly incredible. It is a one minute walk to the pool and hot tub. A 5 min walk to a sandy beach. We used the hot tub every single night .
The snorkelling out in front of this location is some of the best on the island. It was the only place we saw a turtles underwater. We explored the whole island, including the volcano, national park, and the observatory for stargazing. When coming back to the big island, we will definitely look for this suite again. Second year staying at Mauna Lani, first stay in Terraces. Will never return to the hotel after our stay in E301. Cleanest vacation home we have ever rented, very well stocked with laundry and cleaning supplies. Fridge was professional grade and kept things very cold. AC worked well. Porches were excellent size w comfortable furniture. Bed was a little firm but we slept well every night. We won’t hesitate to return!

The Mauna Lani properties are a great area to stay, nice restaurants, beautiful view and grounds. The Terrace area in particular is home to a more mature group. The updated pool/hottub had several covered areas and were really well done. Our particular unit was very dated though; the couches needed to go, not comfortable. The dryer could barely dry the clothes, the towels would take at least 3 hours to dry. And those towels were from the ABC store, which also bothered me; at least get the nicer towels from Costco for goodness sake. Finally, the bathroom showers had a very unusual set up. If I recall others have noted the same concerns, and they still exist. It's time for an update.

Lee's condo at Mauna Lani Terrace was even better than advertised. It's the perfect location with access to the beach club and resort property for relaxing days and amazing snorkeling. Great spot for golf as well, and easy access to everything along the beautiful Kohala coast. The condo itself was gorgeous, quiet, spacious, and had everything we needed in the kitchen, as well as beach towels and other practical amenities. I will stay here again!

The Mauna Lani Terrace condos provide a fantastic alternative to a luxury hotel room while still providing all the resort amenities plus all the added benefits of a condo including more space, privacy, and convenience. It was exactly what my wife and I were hoping for. Unit F101 and F102 are both very clean, comfortable, private, and well equipped. Access to the beach and great snorkeling is a very short walk across the lawn and around the fishponds. The supermarket is less than a five minute drive and has everything you could need if you prefer to cook some meals yourself and eat in. Each condo has a dedicated parking spot a few steps away from the door which is really convenient for loading, unloading, and when you forget a phone or sunglasses in the car. My wife and I made good use of the kitchen and washer and dryer. Which was a big selling point to us for this condo instead of a hotel room. Daniel was a great host; very accommodating and quick to respond to my questions. Note that although this condo is on the ground floor, it does require going down stairs to get from the parking area to the front door entrance.

Lauren is the consummate hostess - incredible communicator, wonderful hospitality (fresh fruit and coffee welcomed us) and so knowledgeable about ways to enjoy an ideal stay at the Mauna Lani Terraces. Loved being able to walk to multiple beaches, the ease of enjoying the adjacent hotel’s restaurants and events, being perched above the historic fishponds and just the incredible view every day. We enjoyed the lagoon view and easy walk to the beaches. Terrific snorkeling and we saw turtles just north of the Mauna Lani hotel in the mornings. The villa was very comfortable with a lot of space. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. We appreciated that there were blow dryers, shampoo and conditioner as well. The owner was easy to communicate with and helpful. We would stay here again!

Spent a wonderful week in this beautiful penthouse condo while attending a wedding and related festivities at the Mauna Lani resort. Perfect location overlooking tranquil fishponds with ocean views from the lanai. Conveniently located close to all of the Mauna Lani amenities, yet very private and quiet. Host Surinder was very helpful in suggesting walking trails, restaurants and other island activities. Housekeeper Kathy welcomed me with a lovely note, delicious pineapple, as well as a spotless and comfortably cool condo. Highly recommend!

This is a very easy review, perfect location that is exactly as advertised and so well stocked and supplied we only bought groceries. We stayed nine nights and had zero disappointments.
If you are seeking a resort experience, do much better than a hotel. Room to relax yet within five to 15-minutes you can walk to any of the resort restaurants/ bars.
We could not have been more pleased and will not only recommend to others but, of course, return for more.
Dave and Susan take pride of ownership and comfort of their guests to heart.

Had the entire pool to ourselves on multiple occasions. The many fish ponds near the property were cool to walk around as well. Great spot would definitely go back!

This was our first time staying in the Mauna Lani area, we’ve visited many times but never stayed. There are many facilities available, coffee shop, supermarket, restaurants etc, plus great views of sunset, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Haleakala on Maui. A beautiful place to stay in Hawaii!

This was my husband's and my second stay at Sue and Dave's beautiful condo. They have created a wonderful environment for a vacation. Every detail of what you might need is already there in the condo complete with a thick binder on the coffee table answering any question you might have with tons of great suggestion of what to do during your stay. The condo was great, well-equipped and the first floor location made it easier to go to the beach and pool through the patio doors. We are returning next year for the same unit.
The only issue we had was the 3 or the 4 camp chairs available in the beach closet were broken, but the manager is going to replace them.

The original condo we expected had a problem with air conditioning, so Kona offered us a substitute. We didn’t know what to expect, but it was absolutely beautiful. There were ample beach items, absolutely lovely furnishings, an outdoor bar area and room for family members staying at three additional condos at Mauna Lani Estates to enjoy a meal on the outdoor patio
Together. The furnishings were lovely and beds were comfortable. We would definitely choose to stay there again.

My husband and I enjoyed meals and drinks on the balcony with its gorgeous view. As we had four condos for a family of 14, including seven young grandchildren, we spent lots of time at the large condo pool. There is also a great jacuzzi and children’s pool.
I never did figure out how to change the washer temp but everything came out fine!
The condo was spotless though there were some light stains on the carpeting. It was full of equipment for the beach, including two beach chairs and even a small Child’s life vest. We always make a Costco stop when arriving and bought a beach umbrella for our almost 3 year old grandson. However, the bay where we spent so much time had plenty of shade from trees. It is a great spot for young swimmers, as it isn’t choppy as the ocean in front of the Mauna Lani. (We left the unused umbrella!). I would happily stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in this peaceful condo! The unit was clean and welcoming and the lanai was perfect - overlooking both the ocean and a beautiful fish pond. Easy walk to the pool and the neighboring Mauna Lani Auberge Resort. The owners took great care to make sure we had a nice stay, and their recommendations for local dining and entertainment were greatly appreciated. Perfect for our family. Updated kitchen with new appliances. We purchased food before arriving, never left the resort. Wonderful view from the balconies, private balcony for the master bedroom. Felt like floating above the water, right on the large fish pond, excellent view of the ocean. We ate all of our meals on the balcony, friendly birds begging for crumbs, fun to feed. Catfish in the pond happy for scraps. Never used the AC, just turned on the ceiling fans and opened the doors and closed the screens. Just need to make sure the screens are closed or the birds will come into the house looking for crumbs. Our vacation is all about swimming in the ocean. Wonderful access and terrific fish and eels to see on the coral reefs. Also has an orange bouy off the beach and bait fish gather, drawing blue fin Trivolie and small sharks - fun to watch. The beach is great access for timid swimmers and children, but great access for advanced swimmers to go out to the reefs. Will be back!
