The property was as described and in the pictures. All the beach supplies were a huge bonus, especially the umbrella. The sun is strong at the beach. The location is perfect - close to a lot but without the busyness of some of the other developments in the area.

We have stayed in many condos on the big island in roughly the same price range so we have some experience with what to expect, this was by far the most beat-up accommodation we've had. I expect some wear and tear for a rental property, but this was rough. In the kitchen drawer fronts were duct taped on, the closet doors in the hallway were completely broken and falling off their hinges, and there were many other signs of neglect. Ultimately it was not a relaxing place for me to be. When I originally made the bookings I saw a few reviews that mentioned the same thing, but chose to give the property the benefit of the doubt. Soon after booking I grew too nervous about the reviews and tried to cancel the booking. I should have read the cancellation policy more carefully because even 90 days out we couldn't get a full refund and were stuck. I'm thinking we should have just taken the hit and booked somewhere clean, maintained, and peaceful.
I think the most positive thing I have to say is that the beach supplies were well stocked.

The condo was ok. Since we mostly just slept there, I was able to overlook some flaws. However, the place is in need of several repairs; laundry room doors, drawer in kitchen, door shelf in refrigerator, and other small things. Furniture/decor would help as well. Overall, our 1st trip to Hawaii will not be our last.

Traveled to Kona on kind of a short notice vacation in September. Our family included two toddlers and an infant, and we wanted a place that had some extra space to allow the kids to go to sleep earlier but us to still enjoy our time. We wanted something in the Waikoloa area that was reasonable and close to the beach. We found this unit on VRBO for a good price for the area. The condo was huge compared to others that we've stayed in. It was a nice layout and had everything we needed for the week. Complex was very well taken care of and close to the shopping in Waikoloa and a very short drive to A beach. The kids loved the kids pool and both pools were very well maintained. A few days before our stay, I panicked realizing I had booked the wrong dates - 4 days too early. Fortunately, nobody had booked the dates we needed so Melissa kindly changed the dates for us - what a relief for me! She's very quick to respond and an absolute pleasure to work with. She made everything so easy for us! I'm so grateful to her.
We loved the accommodations with all the amenities such as beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkel gear, ice chests, bikes and board games that we took advantage of. The kitchen was also stocked. The unit is conveniently located near the pool, spa and pickleball courts which we also enjoyed. This place was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii.

The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and a good selection of spices. It had all the beach supplies we needed from towels, chairs, boogie boards, and beach toys. We had the best time here in beautiful Waikoloa. The Hale Pele was as exactly as described in the listing and photos. Kat was wonderful to work with and quick to respond to our questions. We are a family of 6, ages 8-17 and our kids loved it here. The Townhome had everything we needed, spices, dishes, pans and Kona coffee provided, thank you! The kids loved all the close by shopping at Kings and Queens marketplace. On our beach days which was pretty much daily the home provided everything we needed; towels, bags, cooler (although we brought ours,) 4 boogie boards, snorkel gear, 4 chairs and tons of umbrellas to keep us shaded. We loved going to Hapuna and Kua Bay for our beach/boogie board days and A bay for Sunsets. You can see turtles on the left side of A Bay just past Lava Lava Beach club. Drinks at Lava Lava are amazing and their is live music there too . One day we explored the Island from Waikoloa to Kona, to Punalu'u bakery, Black Sands, Volcano National park and beautiful Hilo and Rainbow Falls. This Island truly is magically and there is so much more to see.
This home and location is perfect for a couple or family. We would stay here again.

Just returned from a fabulous week on the big island! This home was such a nice and relaxing spot for our family of 4. Beautifully decorated, clean and well kept. Andy was easy and quick to communicate with, and very accomodating! All of the supplies in the garage were in great condition and we had everything we needed. Convenient location right by the back gate into the colony villas made trips to the store super easy. Our girls really enjoyed the local cats that stopped by, but they were never a nuisance. Hope to be back in the future!

We had another great stay at the property, it couldn’t have been any better. Loved all the new beach gear/toys and the unit was supplied with enough thoughtful supplies that we did not have to run to the store for common kitchen and bathroom items. This location is absolutely ideal with easy access to beaches, shops and dining. I especially love the patio off of the primary bedroom, opening up to the golf course making it an ideal location for morning coffee and the beds are very comfortable as well. Wow. What a fantastic property to stay at on the Big Island. We spent 10 nights in this townhouse and everything was great. Probably most important to me (mom) was that it was very clean and had wonderfully cold air conditioning ;)
The location in the bigger Waikoloa resort was great. Really close (walking distance) to two great shopping areas with upscale stores, souvenir shopping and two markets. Close to great swim beaches and a bit of a drive to snorkeling beaches but that wasn’t a problem for us. The community this townhouse is in is quiet and immaculate. The pool was perfect and the teens in our group spent hours there. Just a 30 second walk from our unit. BBQs are at the pool area. It was never crowded.
The unit, as I said, was very clean. No complaints at all. Everyone had super comfy beds and slept well. Kitchen is well stocked and clean. Floors are mostly vinyl plank I think so very easy to keep clean. Bathrooms also very clean. Great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Lots of beach stuff to use…umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, pool noodles, towels, tennis gear for the nearby court.
Probably our best short-term rental ever. Would definitely come back again in the future.

This property was by far the nicest we've stayed in at Waikaloa Colony Villas! It had EVERYTHING we needed and more -- from a closet packed with pool and beach toys, boogie boards, chairs, coolers . . . to the linen closets filled with sheets, blankets, towels, beach towels, and toiletries . . . to the kitchen well stocked with a variety of cooking pots, pans, waffle maker, rice cooker, blender . . . Everything we needed was right there. The unit is beautifully decorated and spacious. Plenty of room for enjoying family dinners. The patio area is breezy and shaded. The pool, gym, and tennis/pickleball courts are just a few steps away! Highly recommend!

Melissa's house is lovely and matches the description well. Everything was clean and we'll maintained. We had some hiccups with the parking spots, parking permit and being able to reach her when we couldn't find the permits at check in but we're able to resolve it in the end.

My family and I loved staying at this gorgeous condo. It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and felt brand-new. The recent renovation (granite countertops, new flooring, high-end fans and more) was well done and high-end. The condo is well-stocked with beach gear (snorkel fins and masks, beach chairs, beach towels, beach toys, coolers for drinks or lunch, etc.) family games, kitchen appliances, kitchen necessities, and bathroom supplies. The mattresses are very comfortable as were the linens and there's ample storage for clothing in the closets with hangers and new dressers.
The location is quiet and relaxing, yet close to the bustle of two resorts and two small shopping malls. It's also close to the best beaches on the island for swimming and snorkeling. We had easy access to Kona and Volcano National Park too.
The condo owners were very accommodating and communicative. Sharon responded within a few minutes when I had any questions during the stay.
I researched where to stay on the island for days and saw a lot of very pricey options that were neither as clean nor as luxurious as this condo. Don't hesitate!

The property was exactly like the images, and was very clean and well stocked with kitchen wares. The location was close to places such as Foodland for groceries (Costco and Walmart are about 30 minutes south, close to the airport), and a black sand beach with amazing snorkeling. When traveling to the Hilo side of the island, the property was very close to the road that cuts through the middle of the island making it easy to reach places such as volcano national park a little easier than using the north or south routes that can take much longer. The Captain Cook area is about 1 hour south.
During our stay, whenever we had questions for Wilson, he was very responsive via text. There is a large amount of beach items available in the garage, such as snorkeling gear, pool noodles, beach toys, chairs, and boogie boards. We borrowed most of these for our beach adventures, which made things much easier than having to purchase our own. Having three bathrooms was prefect for our group of 7. The sofa bed in the living room was very helpful for our group as well. The pool at the complex was perfect for the kids during those days we didn't go to the beach.
The only issue we had was parking two cars at times. One reserved spot is available near the unit, while the second car needs to park in one of very few unreserved spots. Wilson was very helpful when no extra spots were available one evening. We would definitely stay here again for future trips if available.

We had a wonderful stay at Waikoloa Beach Resort. The condo decor was absolutely beautiful and everything was meticulously maintained. We did not have any issues requiring maintenance while we were there.
There were many staples provided including laundry detergent which was a big help. The washer/dryer is right in the unit in the condo’s upstairs hallway by the bedrooms which was very convenient for our party of seven. The master shower is the largest, most amazing shower I have ever seen! The master bed was a king and very comfortable. Everyone else described their beds as comfortable as well. My son slept in the single pull-out in the family room which was very easy to convert back and forth between an ottoman and a bed. The dining room had plenty of seating for us. The kitchen was well stocked. There were boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment. I even saw tennis racquets, golf clubs, and bikes, though I would ask before assuming they were for guest use. There is a lovely porch out the back of the property. The resort itself has a beautiful pathway through a marshy nature area to a rocky beach. For beaches to swim we went to two different beaches, each about fifteen minutes away: Hapuna Beach and 49 Black Sand Beach The condo is very close to great shopping and restaurants at Queens Marketplace and King’s Marketplace. We enjoyed A Bay’s for a nice dinner out. We would 100% stay in this exact same property again.

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Hale Pele. Clean and although connect condo/townhome, very quiet and private. Had everything we needed in the home. Very close to shopping at the King's and Queen's marketplace and just 30 minutes out of Kona. Wonderful beaches nearby on the South Kohala Coast and 20 minutes away from Waimea. Owners were quick and responsive to our questions and needs. We were out exploring the rest of the island and did not take advantage of Hilton's resort options.

We were a multi-generational family - one grandma (79 years), four parents, two children (7-8 years) and one pre-teen (12 years). Everyone found their niche. Kids loved the pool and plentiful gear in the garage. Adults loved the amazing snorkeling in nearby beaches (check out Black Sand Beach 49!). The history buffs walked along the Waikoloa property to check out the petroglyphs. And everyone enjoyed the board games. Great house, well equipped kitchen, lots of extra towels and beach/pool gear. Only minor issue was parking - sometimes the free spots fill up in the evening and we had to circle the lot a few times coming home at 8pm on a Saturday.

We had an absolute fabulous time during our stay celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The hosts were very responsive, easy to communicate with, and answered all of my questions. They went above and beyond to provide recommendations for activities, shopping, and restaurants in the area.
The condo is exactly as described. We could not stop saying to ourselves "the hosts have thought of everything!" The accommodations were just perfect for our family of five. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to return one day.
