Kealia is Kapaa's main surfing beach, most often used by experienced surfers who can handle the messy conditions. The beach faces east and is subject to consistent wind swells. On calmer days it is possible to swim or boogie board at the northern end of the beach where a sea wall has been built to offer some protection against waves. There is a lifeguard and restrooms, and the Kapaa bike bath runs past the beach. It's best to check in with the life guard before swimming here..
