We have stayed at HBR before and always go for a room with a view. This is no exception. It looks right at Bali Hai. We knew we were renting from an investment group rather than an individual. That is where you just have to be aware you won't get the personalized touch. We were told many times, before check-in and at the desk and by the bellman to call Vacasa with any needs. We got there and was very low on hand soap and body wash. When I texted Vacasa the response was to supplement any additional supplies ourselves. My reply was "Really?". They did have someone bring body wash but that is just what you have to deal with. The property is spectacular with restaurants onsite, a walk to Hanalie and several pools and courts.
There room had ample towels, new bed, beach toys and all the kitchenware you might need. The bathroom is outdated and the wall in the kitchen was cracked and the baseboard was detached.

I was very hopeful about this visit but unfortunately didn’t quite meet my expectations. The first thing I noticed was the bad musty smell when I walked in. The AC smells bad and is very loud off and on. We couldn’t leave it on at night because it was too loud. We then discovered mold in the bathroom which could be contributing to the smell. The unit was also very dusty. Please note the listing as of September 2024 is not accurate. The listing notes a dishwasher and a second half bath and neither were present. I was told to take out my trash and do the dishes. However, they don’t provide dish soap and the only sink is in the bathroom. Gross. I ended up doing the dishes in the bathroom sink with hand soap. I did my best. The towels didn’t smell clean and had to look for others in the closet which were better. Overall this has potential because the location and actual resort are fantastic but next time I would stay in another unit.

Arriving from a long plane flight it was amazing to arrive at a rental condo with everything a family could desire. We knew flying to Kauai we wanted to snorkel so we brought our own but when we arrived there were masks and snorkels available to be used along with all the beach supplies a family could want including chairs, umbrella, blanket, and beach toys. Hanalei Bay Resort is always beautiful, and the location of the Condo provides better sunset views then the location the resort made to observe sunsets. The kitchen supplies were amazing also with everything you need to cook the only thing lacking were spices, but they did provide plenty of salt and pepper. I would use this again for sure. The management company was easy to work with and were in constant contact throughout the trip to make sure everything was working properly and even dropped off a broom so we could sweep the floor in a timely manner.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was perfect, fully equipped with kitchen essentials, beach gear, washer/dryer. The view from the lanai was simply breathtaking. We ate at both restaurants on the property and they were delicious! It was a short walk to the beach which was amazing, naturally shaded with trees, and not very busy! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else on the north part of the island. We will be back!

The location on the property was ideal; close to parking, pool, and restaurant. Unfortunately the hot tub was closed the entirety of our stay. Room/s was spacious and had everything we needed except a blender would have been nice. The "toy" closet with beach chairs and umbrella was very handy! They only real bummer is the location of the A/C unit on the lanai (not an easy fix, I know). It makes it so hot out there you can only enjoy the outdoor space first thing in the morning, or turn the A/C off if you want to enjoy the sunset, or any time other time besides morning, from your lanai.

The location and views are STUNNING. The house is clean and very comfy. The resort was weird for us but probably more accommodating for the golfer or all inclusive resort going type of guest. There was creepy talk at the front desk when we checked in about keeping the property "safe" from locals. There are zero Hawaiians that own property in Princeville which also felt really wrong. The sports bar cheapened the vibe at the resort's restaurant, but might be your cup of tea. The hot tub was not open during our entire stay and there are no blackout curtains in the bedroom. That all said, we still had a lovely time exploring the island and the property is truly gorgeous.

The stay was great and the small little unit fit our needs perfectly. Great location with easy in and out. Great views and quiet balcony to enjoy morning coffee and evenings. Didn’t need to talk with manager as everything was good. We bring our own umbrella and chairs but it was good to know for future that they are available with this unit along with some snorkel gear.

The room was great! The view was amazing and very close to the smaller pool and grill area. My only complaint was the AC left a lot to be desired. During the day the room would be ~80 degrees but in the evening it would cool off fine. Not a big deal for us as we spent most of the day away from the resort. Keep the curtains on the sliding glass door closed or else it will be very hot as we discovered when we checked in and they had been left open all day. Golf cart rides are available but tips are expected. We walked most of the time. The walk down to the beach was pretty steep but didn’t take long. Restaurants located on the property were both good albeit expensive even for Hawaii standards.

Hanalei Bay was absolutely beautiful with the lagoon pool. The property was clean and staff were very nice. They have all the amenities needed. Ocean view and sunset every night was fantastic. It has its own private beach which is convenient and not too crowded. Great for snorkeling. I would definitely come back here again. Book it, you won't have any regrets. Mahalo! :-)

The title of this unit is very accurate. The view is absolutely stunning & immediately set the tone for our very short stay putting big smiles & excitement in our faces. For our overnight purposes, it was just right & had everything we needed. The bed is very comfortable & the bathroom is spacious with an updated dual shower. The AC kept the room very nice & cool. The convenience of being on the 1st floor & in one of the buildings right next to the parking lot made things much easier for us to unload & load our luggage. We’ve stayed at this resort before in a different unit & love all of the amenities & the location. The only big drawback is finding parking. But the unit itself was enjoyable for our night stay. Hanalei Bay Resort is wonderful and the staff are a delight. This condo is very small and does not have a kitchen, just a sink and a mini fridge. We spent days reserving the adjoining unit. Prior to checking in, the host was very responsive, but once the check in date arrived, the host took days to respond to messages. We eventually did add the adjoining room and appreciated the full kitchen and extra bathroom, although that bathroom does not have a bathtub, despite one being shown in the floor plan.

We were attending a wedding in the area so didn't spend a lot of time at the apartment but could have happily stayed longer. The apartment was spacious and well suited for our group of 3 adults. The resort had a lovely pool area and a couple of restaurants to supplement the kitchen if you didn't want to cook. We had a car and parking was at a premium.

Laurie was such an amazing host! She was so responsive and on top of all of our questions. We utilized her rental vehicle on Turo and wow! I usually have to wait hour + at the rental cars at the airport this was less than 10 mins and we were off! The view is spectacular from the room, you over look the mountains and pictures don’t do it justice. We were minutes away from Hanalei and not too far from Tunnels. It was perfect. To get down to the beach on the property, it is quite a hill to walk up and down but if you have any trouble with walking you can always utilize the golf carts that will pick you up/drop off. Same goes for parking your vehicles since that is quite a walk as well (with luggage). An overall fantastic stay and we can’t wait to come again! Thank you so much!

You can’t beat the views of the Napali coast right from the lanai! The property grounds are beautiful. You feel like you are in the middle of the jungle. There is a short walk to the beach. It’s not far but it is steep! They offer golf cart rides if needed. My husband and I were able to do it no problem but if you are older or have many kids I’d opt for the ride. They do have a collapsible wagon to help your lug your stuff down. You can also rent kayaks/surf boards/chairs etc. at the beach. Beach is shared with the beautiful 1 Hanalei Hotel. We enjoyed the restaurant on site - Happy Talk Lounge. They had live Hawaiian music and gorgeous views. There is a pizza restaurant as well, however we didn’t have a chance to try it. The place is well equipped with necessities kitchen, bath, beach. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to stay on the north shore!

The grounds were nice, the bathroom in our unit was nice BUT the shower water at it coldest was warm and I prefer my showers on the colder side. There were beach supply’s stored in the closet, which was nice, unfortunately the air conditioner was fair at best. The pull down bed was broken (the medal support at the foot that holds the bed up). We weren’t able to access Netflix on the tv and when I messaged the lady responsible for our unit she said she didn’t think they even had it. The window blind behind the sofa where you sit to watching was broken on one side so it wouldn’t close and hung down sideways so we had to Gerry rig it against the wall with the sofa. At check in we were given rubber wristbands to wear while at the swimming pools and weren’t aware that they would charge us if they were lost. I thought mine was lost but thankfully I found it. Last, and this may be on VRBO, I paid in full before we arrived and the resort charged fees on top of the supposed “total” fees that VRBO charged. The food at the restaurant was okay. Our waitress was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the foods.
I won’t book here again based on the price I paid to stay and these items I listed above. It wasn’t cheap so I would expect everything to be in perfect order.

Well appointed resort property, friendly staff and welcoming grounds here.
The unit was very clean, has an exceptional view- best in complex for sunsets - and has just a few minor issues that are easily overlooked- small shower/ door hits the shower head and you have to squeeze in and out of the shower (I’m fairly small so it wasn’t a big deal), small refrigerator door and small drawer above it rub against the wall frame a bit.
Fees disclosed in the property description had gone up a bit- I found this out at check in- parking fee daily and resort fee daily add up but you do get pool access, towels, golf cart shuttles, concierge service and other amenities.
Owner was responsive and there were some refreshments upon arrival which was a nice touch and appreciated- also had a water filter in the fridge.

Hanalei bay resort has got to be one of the most beautiful spots on planet earth. We have stayed here many times before. We have booked through different private owners. I was concerned before arriving that the view might not be as spectacular as some of the other units we have reserved down further on the property but that concern was quickly put to rest the moment we walked in. The view out across the pool to the ocean beyond is just so pretty. At night the tiki torches add that special Hawaiian flavor to your panorama. The unit is well equipped with dishes pans etc. The bed is very comfortable but be warned the pillows are not down. Our only complaint was with the air-conditioner on the unit next door. It is noisy and blows hot air into our unit when the door is open. Unfortunately our neighbors ran it the entire time we were there day and night. Crazy considering the beautiful trades winds are so lovely at night along with the sound of rain. The location of the unit was great as far as parking close by. Dave is an absolute Joy to do business with. He went out of his way to be accommodating, so professional and prompt in all of his responses. He really helped make our trip fabulous!

The balcony was our nightly gathering spot and morning coffee drinking area as well. Resort has one of the coolest beaches and two good restaurants with awesome views. Staff was cool and the studio was as shown…no surprises! Quiet, clean and comfy! The A/C worked well, too! Perfect place for what we needed. We will be back!

One thing we didn’t know that could help other folks— Recommend bringing small bills for tips as there is no ATM in the resort and the golf cart guys work for tips. Nice beach on site with golf cart access up.
