Incredible view, but unit needs some care and needs to have some damaged furnishings replaced. Smoke detector was not attatched to ceiling, but left on a closet shelf. Don't know if it was working. Would love to enjoy view again, but not until maintenance problems are fixed. Also be aware that this is a unit connected by a locked door and I had very loud neighbors who spent a lot of time arguing very loudly.

The room was as listed and the stay was wonderful. We loved the resort and the amenities available as well as the location and proximity to different beaches, towns, and activities. The only downside to the stay was a number of bugs throughout the stay. While this is somewhat expected given the climate and it was not excessive, we were consistently finding 1-2 cockroaches a day. Other than that, this was a 5-star stay.

The place was clean and modern. Gorgeous view, friendly staff. No kitchenette, no microwave. No guests allowed to visit at pool, bar/restaurant opens late, no place for breakfast or dinner. We arrived at noon and we could not check in early even though our room was ready. No response from the mgmt company. Also, hidden fees that we had to pay the hotel.parking and daily hotel fees.

We loved this property. The units were amazing and the owners thought of everything. The Hanalei Bay Resort (HBR) is so beautiful. The good: check in was easy, the bellhop service was wonderful. Gorgeous view from the patio, great amenities, great location with beach access. Convenient location near shops and restaurants.
The bad: On our first night we found two cockroaches in our bathroom. We contacted the property owner who told us they would contact their pest removal service. I am not sure if they did so during our stay. The next morning we found two more roaches. The worst part is that the owner did not even apologize. It’s a shame because the rest of the stay was great, but I would not stay in this home again.

Although the room was clean and for the most part you interact with the front desk, actually getting a hold of the host for this particular AirBnB is impossible. We reached out on several occasions and never got a response. In fact, after sending a message it would tell you the host’s typical response time is 11 hrs. Who doesn’t respond to their guests until half a day has gone by?Some of what happened was definitely our fault, when booking we accidentally shorted ourself a day and didn’t realize it until we got an auto text reminding us to checkout a day early. This is when we tried to contact Kristen but never heard back. If you are expecting to have your host be available to communicate should you have issues, I would not suggest this rental.

Great view from the lanai, although it is not as private as I had assumed from the pictures. The resort did not disappoint in amenities, there are a couple pools, a hot tub, restaurant, tennis and pickleball courts and beach access! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and the room had enough necessities and beach toys.

We visit Kauai 2-3 times a year and always in Princeville. We've shared a house with our children doors away from HBR and then we've all had separated units at HBR. We love the proximity to the beach and the amenties offered at the resort.

Loved our stay the property is beautiful the condo was lovely. The only complaint is that in the VRBO listing it was NOT clearly mentioned about the resort daily fees and the parking fees. Which ended up being an extra 300 dollars.

Beautiful location, easy access to room, and an amazing view. Cute visitors everyday with the Nei Nei (Hawaiian Geese) and tremendous sunsets make the stay feel so unique and memorable. Not the quickest or easiest drive to the actual resort, as it is reallt far into Princeville, but worth the extra time to get there. Great communication with the Host (Stacey) as they allowwd us to check out a little later due to flying out that night. We also left behind a cell phone cord and was immediately notfiied that it would be left at the feont desk. We would definitely stay here again if we ever returned to Kauai.

Room with a nice view. They have a huge balcony facing the mountains as well as the ocean.
They do have surf boards, snorkeling masks, beach toys and inflatables. We didn't know that so we bought some along the way only to realize it wasn't needed.

Love Hanalei Bay Resort and this unit is nice. Couple minor fixes: faucet in bathroom is leaking, knives in kitchen very full and door into shower room is losing wood at bottom of door Super views and the nearby BBQ is very convenient and nice.....we'll kept.

Great experience. The location was fabulous. We took walks on the beach, swam in the pool and ocean and just relaxed on the balcony. The town is close by and we enjoyed the farmers markets and several restaurants.
The unit was very well equipped, beds were comfortable and bathrooms luxurious. It was a wonderful vacation.

I was in awe the minute I opened the door and saw the view. We would be looking at for the next five days! Just breathtaking! A couple things to note upon arrival, the smoke detector was on the counter in the closet. And a few of the lights./outlets do not seem to be working. We would like to book the same unit and possibly an additional for next year same time! We plan to make this spot an annual event.

We love Kauai and having this condo for 2 weeks was just perfect for us! Of course we appreciated the comfy bed and the "wow" views of the bay & mountains...But I must say that we also enjoyed the convenience of having lots to do within walking distance. The resort's beach just down the hill is a great place to swim, watch sea turtles or go on an explore. To the right (up the stairs) is a 10 minute walk that takes you to the best snorkeling spot "Hideaways Beach" (it's a strenuous short hike/climb and a little dangerous tho). Or you can go left (along the shore) down a trail & with a short swim you can be on the beach of Hanalei (I used a noodle lol). In addition to spending time with mother nature, we loved swimming in the pool and soaking in the beautiful waterfall spa. We'd usually end our day at Happy Talk for drinks and a hot meal. Their food and cocktails were really good, and they usually have live entertainment too! You literally can enjoy so much without using a vehicle to get there.

We had the best time at Hanalei Bay Resort. Our host was timely and attentive when we needed some specific help with check-in. The room was gorgeous and clean. I loved the vaulted ceilings & canopy bed. The bed was also comfortable & sheets felt fresh. The view was even better than the pictures - absolutely stunning! My only suggestion is some new bathroom rugs but overall we were incredibly pleased with our stay and would love to return as soon as possible. 10/10

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The location was further out from the main entrance which we knew prior to booking but we liked that and were able to get extra steps in! The property was clean & had a few more items than listed which was a great surprise. The views were gorgeous and the staff were friendly. We were here for a wedding and only wished we had more time to enjoy the amenities.

We loved our stay at Theresa and Milo’s place! The views are stunning! We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony, winding down at the pool after long days of snorkeling and hiking, and the sunset views. The restaurants on site are extremely convenient as is the golf carts that take you down to the beach. The unit is a great size for 2. No kitchen, but mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and dishes were enough for breakfast and to go food. Milo and Theresa were great hosts and were great at communicating all info we needed ahead of checkin! Can’t wait to come back!

This unit and the property it is on are great. The closest beach was a quick walk (on a steep hill but a golf cart can take you as well) and we got to swim with tons of turtles there. Hanalei Bay Resort has a fantastic pool and 2 delicious restaurants on-site with reasonable prices and live music nightly. The unit itself is basic but clean and has a great view/comes with everything you need for a good beach day. There is no kitchen in the unit but there are grills on the resort you can use. Highly recommend staying here!

This room looked bigger in pictures. I wouldn’t say the view is “unobstructed”. TV wasn’t working and when you call the front desk they instruct you to call property owner. Texted property owner but no response. Furtherest building from the main parking lot so expect to walk a long ways. If you call for cart service expect to wait more than 15 minutes. We’ve stayed at other rooms at Hanalei Bay Resort before, this one was the most dated.

We have stayed at HBR before and always go for a room with a view. This is no exception. It looks right at Bali Hai. We knew we were renting from an investment group rather than an individual. That is where you just have to be aware you won't get the personalized touch. We were told many times, before check-in and at the desk and by the bellman to call Vacasa with any needs. We got there and was very low on hand soap and body wash. When I texted Vacasa the response was to supplement any additional supplies ourselves. My reply was "Really?". They did have someone bring body wash but that is just what you have to deal with. The property is spectacular with restaurants onsite, a walk to Hanalie and several pools and courts.
There room had ample towels, new bed, beach toys and all the kitchenware you might need. The bathroom is outdated and the wall in the kitchen was cracked and the baseboard was detached.
