We had an amazing time at Ma’alaea! The view from the condo is amazing and the sound of the crushing waves was spectacular.
This is one of the windiest locations on the island which helped keeping the condo cooled off. We loved the location, the set up and the amenities of the condo. We would stay there again.

Nice and clean condo. Beautiful ocean views. Central to all the activities we had planned. Easy access to condo and easy parking.
A couple things I’d like to mention.
The air conditioner is a small window unit at the front of the condo. The bedroom is in the back. It did get quite hot at night. We had to leave it on with a fan blowing toward the bedroom. To keep that room cool. July is hot in Hawaii. Other times of the year probably would not be an issue.
The mattress was very uncomfortable. It needs replacing. It has dips on each side. I personally feel a good night sleep is most important. This is a nice condo so was surprised with the condition of the mattress.
I still recommend this condo. If the mattress was replaced, I’d stay there again.

The condo was just as we expected, with everything we need from beach chairs to coolers to a well furnished kitchen. And there was more in Maalaea than we expected. Our only surprise was the wind coming down over the flat part of the island from Kahului (July).

After a long day of travel to be able and open the front door and head out on the balcony to see the view in person set the tone for what was an incredible vacation.
We were promised sea turtles and we saw sea turtles EVERYDAY. We were away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to where we had no issues exploring the island. The owners went out of their way to make sure our stay was as memorable as possible and answered ANY inquiry (leading up to and during our stay) in a prompt, effient and professional manner; even helping us solve how to door pass code at 11:30pm!
Wouldn't hesitate to rent again or recommend to family and friends

We have stayed at the Island Sands many times over the years. To us there is no better place. IS310 was no exception, great views, clean, well stocked and quiet. There were turtles on the little beach every day. One day there was five on the beach. What a great place!! Thank you for your hospitality We will be back!!

The suite wasn’t clean and unfortunately there were lots of unwelcome cockroaches. We had planned to make full use of the kitchen but every time we would put food out, the cockroaches appeared. There were crumbs of food in the drawers and cupboards, prefect breeding ground for unwelcome friends. The place was crawling with cigarette beetles, even woke up with a few on my face. I totally understand tropical vacation means bugs, but they shouldn’t inhibit our ability to function in the suite. I bought some bleach and cleaned what I could, didn’t want to bother my holiday with insecticides, and management. I would not recommend that this place for families or young kids, lots of pool rules. The place runs like a 55+ senior living space. My autistic 14 year old son was in the pool, not diving or running, or being loud or playing “marco polo”, which is prohibited, but a lady who stayed in the suite beneath us would come on the patio and stare us down. She would shake her head at us. Not a very welcoming feeling.Location was great, area is quiet and serene. Would come back to the area, but for the reasons stated above I would NOT stay here again.

Views are lovely, beds comfortable, place was clean, location was wonderfully quiet and 15-20 minutes from restaurants in Kihei. Central location for upcountry and West Maui. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked as well. Some lovely snacks were there upon arrival.
The only drawback was that the air conditioning unit was small. The bedrooms were fairly warm at night even with fans and windows open.

Check in was super easy. Unit had everything we needed and a spectacular view. We loved watching the turtles swimming from the deck. In the evening's turtles would come out of the water to rest for the evening on the small section of sandy Beach.

The oceanfront view was amazing! We watched the sea turtles swim from our balcony and enjoyed the fresh sea air while we slept. The two bedrooms and baths provided plenty of space for 5 adults. Check-in and checkout were straightforward and easy to follow and the owners were very accessible when needed.

We are extremely disappointed by the stay at this VRBO. Most striking of our displeasure is the listing—highly inaccurate. In addition, staff is available to connect via text at any moment but still this does not deny the fact of the lie of this domicile.
The water quality of the beaches nearby are contaminated, which local residents will tell you. Roaches were crawling all over in two of the rooms. Finally, the a/c stopped working.
It seemed to me that there was plenty of customer service representatives but something was “off” in the amount of integrity of the listing and the price that you pay for a room without any beach access.

This place is the very best. We set on the lanai everyday, watched turtles, drank coffee and soaked up the ocean views. The condo was furnished well and we found in our 17 day stay that we had all the amenities necessary to have a fabulous time. My wife and I recently stayed six days at the property and hated to leave. When we stay at a property, the number one thing we’re looking for is that the property is as it was described, the location is as we expected, and it’s easy to get into the property.
This property met all those requirements and more! When we did have a question, the owner was super responsive and could either be contacted through the vacation app or her personal cell phone. The property owners also gave us some great recommendations on things to do when we were in town, and they were spot on.
We would return to this great property in a minute. The views are amazing every day and once you get the timing down, you can stand on your balcony and watch 10 or 15 turtles work the shallow areas of the bay. Just a couple of hundred yards down the street is a beautiful sandy beach, and once you do a little exploring there you’re sure to discover a perfect spot that either has some people around, or can make you feel like you’re all by yourself.
We would highly recommend this property.

Every thing in our Maui condo was wonderful except it was so hot. It had one small air conditioner that was in the living room on the floor, facing the sofa. The basic problem was that it would only run for 60 minutes and then cut off. When we would return for the day it would have been off all day and there would not be enough time to even cool the living room beside the two bedrooms. It would go off 60 minutes after we went to bed. Thank goodness there was a fam in both bedrooms even if they blew hot air. We loved the condo, the location and found everything we needed except cool air.

This is a quieter location, and the view is spectacular. I sat on the lanai and watched the sun rise and the turtles swim. The unit was clean and comfortable. We cook, and the kitchen worked out great. Robert was very responsive to our questions and addressed any issues. You have to drive about 20 minutes for swimming beaches, groceries, and restaurants. However, we could walk to the harbor, which has some eateries and where we took a snorkeling excursion. There was a convenience store and Starbucks right nearby. We were also close to the beautiful coastline drive up toward Lahaina.

My family of 5 stayed in the condo for a week. Great location and condo for the value. Amazing views, with turtles swimming below our balcony daily and coming onto the beach at night. 15-20 mins to south beaches and 30 minutes to north beaches. Host was extremely fast and communicative. Overall, a great stay!

The condo was convenient to many locations being that it’s centrally located.
We are long time Lahaina and north travelers and enjoyed this new to us location.
The beach out front it pretty to look at but to rocky for swimming or beach access. The condo has a great water view and is well equipped to cook at home.
The beds are comfortable but not the common area furniture. Only one comfortable chair.
We liked everything except they told us just days before arrival that the pool would be closed 3 if our 7 days. Had we known this ahead of time we definitely wouldn’t have booked this condo. The pool tiles are chipped and in need of repair that wasn’t what they were fixing so beware of pool closures if your pool people.. also the pool is very small .

I’ve stayed in four condos in Maalaea and I will say that this one was by far the best. The double balcony with a great view was superb. It was just what we needed and wanted for our island getaway. The location is central so it’s easy to get over to nearby towns. We loved walking on the beach every morning.

The condo was more spacious than it seemed in the pictures. Loved having the washer/dryer. The views were relaxing and we enjoyed watching the turtles from our lanai. The cold filtered water was appreciated. The bed was comfortable and guaranteed parking was a plus. When I had a question about the property the owner was quick to respond. We had a pleasant stay.

Great communication from property management. Very easy check-in/check-out. Keyless entry to condo is super convenient. Condo is great & has a LOT of random stuff...beach stuff, sunscreen, after-sunscreen, seasonings, cooking oil, laundry soap/dryer sheets, water filter pitcher, and a TON of books/literature about Maui & things to do there. A LOT of Hawaiian-themed tchotchkes everywhere...possibly too many, as they take up space you might use to put your belongings, but they are cheerful & cute. The winds are crazy & blow right through from the entrance to the balcony...between the wind & ceiling fans, the unit was always comfortable. (The stairwell is across the hall from the condo & the door will bang LOUDLY if it's not closed tightly...) The pool is small, but was never busy. Lounge chairs are really nice...comfy. The grills are nice & worked great. The unit's assigned parking spot is easily seen from the balcony of the condo, which also has an amazing view of the water...we missed the whales, but saw dolphins playing on most mornings. Our only quasi-complaint is about the pillows...there are quite a few of them, but none are very great to sleep on. We definitely recommend this property as a great place to stay on Maui!

Location is great! Walk to the Aquarium and mini golf. Lots of things to do at the harbor. Not too far from most places. The unit is really nice. The lanai is protected from the wind. Beds were comfortable, kitchen is well appointed and there are bbq’s to use by the pool. Host was responsive. I would stay there again!

When we arrived, we walked straight to the lanai. I had to catch my breath when I looked out over the water! It was perfect. Sea turtles swimming, waves, surf, and the Island breeze all caught me by surprise. This place was perfect in every way. Eve was a very gracious host who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable (understatement). Sunrise from the lanai was stunning. We stayed five days- next time I will book ten! Just WOW! With some updating and basic maintenance, this place would be have a much better first impression. A rusty fridge door is pretty ugly but worked well. Needs a lockable entrance screen door for air flow through the suite. The air conditioner sucks. A sharp knife. Shower is great. Bed is confortable, slept well. For the price expensive I expected more. The owners should stay here for a weekend. I am easily pleased so I would stay here again because I did like it.

Our stay was nice, the place was clean and welcoming. The bed has a topper that is extremely soft, so if you like a firm bed, definitely not a good fit for you! It was also located in a wind tunnel and had high winds, especially at night! It sounded like a hurricane outside the bedroom window. The views are beautiful and it's walking distance from shops, restaurants and the harbor for any water activities. I had to work at the schools in Lahaina and the drive was very easy to make in the morning, no traffic issues heading that way. Everything is very close and easy to get to from here.

Overall the location was great in the center of Maui near the Aquarium so easy to go anywhere you needed to go. The apartment was good for a small group. It had good ameneties for cooking there on site except for some basic supplies that would be helpful. Maybe having some basic cooking spices and some coffee filters and basics for that would have been nice. Overall a good place for a small group.

Many turtles below that are so fun to watch. Had a great time watching the whales too. So much whale activity when we were there. Bring your binoculars!! We ordered another pair when we were there.
Complex is pretty chill. You’ll mostly have the pool to yourself. The beach is a short walk away and it’s a 6 mile long beach. Felt very safe there too. They could use a regular coffee maker, we generally bring our own coffee. It could also use a coffee table and larger side tables.
