The trip was amazing.... incredible views, nicely appointed unit, comfortable furnishings and surprisingly generous with staple goods (toilet paper/paper towels/laundry soap, etc which is sooooo not always the case). The kitchen appliances were seriously high quality, in fact, I loved the fridge so much I put it on my Christmas wishlist.... lol.
honestly, the trip was awesome. the condo is in an awesome location with plenty of convenient parking. 2 small draw backs that were entirely my own issues.... 1) we loved the view so much that we left the blinds up at all times which meant that people could look into the condo as they walked by.... we figured they would only look once or go blind, lol. the 2nd was that a family with young kids were in the upstairs unit. Well, either young kids or 12 dogs that ran constantly. There doesn't seem to be a lot of sound proofing between floors but truthfully, the running was all we ever heard, never voices or TV or anything else. Again,our own issue and nothing that would deter us from renting again.
Notes: its on the ocean so be prepared for dampness.
1) Buy Individual bags of chips rather than one big bag. Might cost more but at least you'll get to enjoy them all.
2) If you can, bring small amounts of your favorite spices. there's salt and pepper and some other minimal spices there, but it's damp and they don't last long and who knows how old they are?

The location and views from this property were fantastic! Unfortunately, I could not get over the MUSTY smell in the master bedroom and family room. It was overwhelming, I can only assume it is in the furniture and rugs. It was also very moist in the master bedroom even though we had the air conditioning on the whole time. There were 2 chairs that looked out at the water and when you got up your shorts were damp. Just really too bad! The kitchen was fine but needed some basic utensils. The silverware was a mix match and not many place settings. One more thing the outdoor dining table and chairs had only 3 chairs we had take a chair from inside when needed. Our master toilet broke the first day and the maintenance group was great. They came out and fixed it right away. All and all the place is so beautiful it just really needs an update and somehow they have to get rid of the SMELL.

This was our first time staying in Kapalua! We loved it. The condo had beautiful views and the property management was super responsive. Clean and property looks like it does in the photos! We also like the quietness of the property but still close to many restaurants. We also though the beach which is about a 5 min walk was quite and beautiful.

Had a wonderful vacation at Kapalua Bay Villas. The unit was exactly as advertised. Very quiet and beautiful setting. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Appreciated the beach chairs and cooler. The unit overlooked one of the pools, so very convenient. Pools did not feel heated though, and colder than the ocean. The other pools had better views of the ocean. I wish there was a better view of the ocean from the unit, just a bit of the ocean peaking over the trees and rooftops. Loved having breakfast every morning and drinks in the evening on the lanai. Proximity to both Kapalua Bay and Oneloa Bay was ideal. We preferred the beach at Oneloa Bay better as it was less crowded and bigger. Kapalua beach was the best for snorkeling. In the bedroom, I wish the bed was a bit firmer and I would have loved blackout blinds or curtains as it was bright in the morning. Wish we could have played more tennis, but the courts closed for repairs halfway through our trip. Overall a wonderful experience and hope to return in the near future.

Kapalua is a perfect quiet getaway. Awesome for walkers and Kapalua Bay closeby is gorgeous. Condo itself has amazing second floor views but is showing a bit of wear. Could use a refresh and a pantry with more than salt and pepper. No oil. No foil. Had to buy a coffee grinder as an example of what wasn’t there.

The location of the property was great. Great walking trail adjacent to the property. If you’re wanting a place to relax this is the place to stay. The only thing I would update are their cooking pans. Some weren’t large enough and non stick would be ideal. Other than that you won’t be disappointed.

We have stayed in this unit a number of times over the past 10 years. This year, all of the furniture is new and the central A/C is fixed after 2 years using noisy portable units. It has one of the best ocean views on the property. Kitchen and bathrooms are dated compared to most other units, but that might be why the price is lower as well.

Just okay. We’ve stayed in better equipped, and worse equipped units. Pantry items were non-existent, and there were no seasonings except S & P. Cookware was adequate, but something besides foil to wrap a sandwich in would have been helpful. Beds and seating areas were comfortable. The unit could use some sound absorption panels, as every sound from downstairs carries up into the upper loft. Note, that the entire upstairs except the bathroom is a loft, and I’m not sure that is very clear from the description or the photos. The third bathroom on the ground floor was a blessing. And even though we did not use them, there is an entire closet of baby furnishings. The provided shampoo/body wash, conditioner and lotion were a nice touch—mahalo!
Even though you are on the west coast of Maui, this particular unit faced north, so it stayed fairly cool most of the day and we didn’t have to run the AC much. No sunsets from your perch, but it’s a lovely view nonetheless. We will return to The KB Villas for a fourth visit, but would probably chose a different unit.

This is the place if you want peaceful respite and restoration. A beautiful condo with a phenomenal location overlooking the beach. This condo is tastefully decorated and has all the amenities needed. The only issue we had upon arrival was that our refrigerator was not functional… however, a replacement was brought in within hours and all was well for the week.

The air conditioning unit in the bedroom did not blow cold air. The stairs steps need to be able to distinguish the next step below. A rail on the opposite side wall would be good.

I am a caregiver for my mother, and I finally was given a break to go on a vacation. We (my husband and I) picked Maui and this rental.
There are no words to describe how beautiful this condo is. The location, the care put into it, the view. The bed was really comfortable, the condo was set up for us perfectly, and it was very clean and up-to-date.
To address another review, there were bug baits in the house to handle that stray ant that made it past the door. We did not find any issue with them. Also, it's a tropical island. You're going to have bugs. The condo was beautifully maintained.
I truly have nothing bad to say about this condo, but I know people don't believe that. So the only thing I'd fix is repainting the chairs on the lanai. Their paint is peeling at the bottom. It certainly didn't affect how much we loved this home, and I wish I could go back. (I literally cried while we were leaving the condo.)
Thank you for letting us stay in this beautiful, magical place. Thank you to the owner for sharing it with us, and to the property management team that went out of their way to make sure we had the best time in Maui. I cannot tell you how much it meant to me.

Great spot. Centrally located in Kapalua. The view is amazing. Watch the waves hit the rock right below the balcony. Local restaurants all walkable, and the coastal trail is right below the unit. Would come back for another great vacation.

The stay was amazing and relaxing. The only reason for the 4 star rating is because the very last night of the stay my wife and I got back from Haleakala Summit at 9:45pm, and the gate passcode had expired. Extremely unfortunate after a long eventful day. Place was great, quiet, and intimate. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
