Our stay at Kihei Sands was perfect. It was so great staying just steps from the beach. We had multiple units with grandparents / family, and the small location made it easy to always find a patio table for lunch, beach chairs for lounging. The properties all had their own beach gear that we used both on this small harbor beach, and also brought with us to bigger surf beaches elsewhere on Maui. The location is perfect to either hang on the beach, but also central to Maui so you aren't far from any of the tourist spots. Fruit stands, convenience store, and restaurants all walkable from the condo. We have stayed on Maui before this trip, and would stay here again over the huge resorts elsewhere.

This was our first time staying in Kihei and we loved everything about it! Our condo (B6) was very well stocked for our adventures on Maui. We were greeted by a most amazing welcome basket of goodies! Plenty of items to take to the beach including a cooler and a much needed umbrella, grass mats & beach towels. The kitchen was very well stocked for our stay. We loved the shared patio and access to BBQ's. There was also a little basket of sunscreen and after sun care.Location! Location! Location! A lovely walk on the beach and you reach the amazing Sugar Beach Bakery, Shave Ice Stand and ABC store. Easy access to lots of restaurants in Kihei (The food truck park was our favorite) and surf shops with beginner surf at the Cove.We loved our stay and will definitely be back because of all of the attention to detail and easy location for our daily adventures!

This was my second time staying at Kihei Sands. You can’t beat the location with an easy 20 minute drive to almost anywhere you want to go on the island. The condo is stocked with everything you’ll need to be comfortable and feel at home. The pool rarely has more than a handful of people. The beach is just steps out of your door. I’ll definitely be back again to Kihei Sands!

I’ve stayed at this location 3 times. When we arrived, the toilet was running non stop & the fridge was leaking water all over the kitchen. The office closed before we arrived. We went down the next morning to report the issues. It took until later in the evening for someone to come fix the toilet. We went down again right before they closed to confirm someone was going to fix it. The person working knew nothing about it. We were having to mess with the tank every single time we used the toilet. We were there for 9 nights. No one ever came to do anything about the fridge. I had to keep using the kitchen towels to soak up the water and washing them. Additionally someone before us had spilled a bunch of water in the freezer and left it. Probably from the ice trays. The ad claimed there were new appliances and with the rust spots inside the freezer i doubt that. Space claims to sleep 6. Just because it can doesn’t mean it should. The table takes up a ton of space and fits only 4. If you pull out the sofa sleeper it makes space so tight you can’t really move. The coffee table is in the way. The furniture is too big for such a small space. The downstairs room has twin beds. They can be combined to make a king. It’s the only room with a door. They charge extra to push it together. Both mattresses in this condo were so horrifically uncomfortable we had to purchase mattress toppers. The headboards for the downstairs bedroom are connected to the wall in the twin bed positions so trying to sit up in bed to watch tv is uncomfortable because there’s nothing comfortable to lean on. The partition in the shower does not reach far enough to stop water from getting onto the floor. So every time you shower you soak the tiny towel they provide and the floor. I spent more on laundry to wash the towels that were soaking up water in this place than I did on my own clothes. Every place I have stayed has insulated coffee cups and wine glasses available. T

Our family of five truly enjoyed our stay at Kihei Sands. There was a feeling of staying at a private beach, the complex was just the right size, quiet and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were able to walk to the best shaved ice (Ululani), bakery (Sugar Beach Bake Shop) and farmers market. What a great experience for our young granddaughter who loved the waves.

This was just an overnight rental for us between when we landed and the next day when we checked into our house rental. I chose this condo over others because it looked easier to get to vs the larger complexes (large group, lots of luggage to haul in and out!) and that turned out to be correct. We were a family of 5, all adult size people and we just needed a nice place to sleep that didn't cost as much as having to get 2 hotel rooms to fit us all. The unit was clean, they had snacks on the table which was super nice & we all devoured immediately because we were starving, the beach outside was great and they have some tables and chairs with umbrellas to sit on the patio by the beach which was all wonderful for weary travelers. Both bedrooms were a roomy size, the living space was very limited. For a family with small children or 2 couples this would be a great rental size. The only hiccup was when we couldn't find any extra bedding for the sofa bed and I didn't have a non-emergency contact to ask. I wasn't going to call the emergency contact numbers listed, because it wasn't what I would call an emergency but it was an inconvenience. Also it's good to know that if you will be relying on the sofa bed for your stay at this unit, the coffee table is very large, heavy and hard to move for the bed to fold open. Once the bed is open and the coffee table is moved, there's no floor space left so that's something to consider depending on how you plan to use the bed situation.

While our initial reactions upon check-in were 'the pool is smaller than we thought' and 'maybe the room is too small for our family of 4' and 'our early check-in seems to have irritated the staff', we are ultimately very happy with our stay and absolutely would come again. We stay in a Kaanapali timeshare for a week every year and then move to Kihei for 3-4 days and like to try out different airBnBs/VRBOs. It's windier in this location, which makes the ocean right outside choppier, but it also keeps the air cooler. Wonderful to be able to be on the sand from our room in 30 seconds. While the pool is on the smaller size, we really loved the lounge area next to it- the lounges are in great shape with plenty of both shady and sunny options. We didn't barbecue or but the shared dining patio completely negates the need for an individual patio attached to our unit. It was quiet and intimate and never crowded. The A/C in both bedrooms and living room worked very well and kept us quite cool at night. It doesn't reach the bathrooms which can get a tad warm, but didn't bother us. The kitchen was very well equipped- from dishes to pans to utensils to ice packs in the freezer (we were just at another rental that gave us the bare minimum). Particularly delightful was the area under the outdoor stairs with toys, floats, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas and sand toys for community use. These are available to anyone staying at the facility, in addition to anything provided in the room. Our room had 4 tommy bahama chairs for use (2 brand new in plastic), a cooler, a beach bag and an umbrella. We always feel guilty leaving behind perfectly good toys or unused food/drinks, so I liked being instructed to leave behind unopened food in the fridge, and toys with the other. It was also a nice touch to see several bottles of sunscreen available for anyone's use.

Perfect location on Sugar Beach with beach and pool right at your doorstep. Beach is sandy and perfect for kids. Great patio location with community vibe - we used the grill and plenty of boogie boards, pool noodles, beach chairs and umbrellas available for use during our stay. Kihei Sands is a very comfortable condo right next to the ocean. It is clean, nicely decorated & recently remodeled, furniture looks new. I am a second generation guest. I was there with my parents in 1999, and back again about 15 years ago. My recent stay in June of 2024 was very enjoyable. My husband and I did the road to Hana, a sunset dinner cruise and went to Nakalele Blowhole, north of Kihei. We also did some shopping at nearby markets. We loved having a first floor unit with a view of the ocean. We spent a lot of time on our patio enjoying the nice weather and sound of the ocean. Love that there was plenty of tables and lounges for people to enjoy, plus boogie boards, kids sand toys, books, BBQ's and various other items to use while there. The staff were very friendly.

This was our 3rd time to Maui & staying at Kihei Sands and our 2nd time in this condo. We love sitting on the lanai watching the waves crash and the beach is just steps away. The condo is clean and well stocked. The King size bed is very comfortable and you can see the beach from the bedroom window. Its lovely to open the window and listen to the waves crashing. The property is clean and well maintained. It is wonderful to have management on-site. They are so helpful & personable. The pool is what I enjoy most and you are right on the beach so its the best of both worlds. The pool is clean, well taken care of and rarely busy. There are community floaties to use or you can also purchase at the ABC store down the street and they will fill them for you for an extra $1. Its a short walk down sugar beach to the ABC store, small farmers market, Kihei bakery & my favorite...Ululani's shave ice. I highly recommend any condo at Kihei Sands....you just can't go wrong. It's worth every penny!

We loved our stay! It was a treat to stay in a location right on the beach. It was ideal for early morning paddles on the calm waters, walks on the long stretches of beach and watching the sunsets and even a full moon rise. The condo is well equipped with all that you need for a beach vacation. Krysta the owner did a great job communicating with us before arriving. We really appreciated all the recommendations that she shared. When we contacted Krysta about a few minor issues she responded right away and solved the problems. For example, one of the beach chairs accidentally broke and she went out and replaced it with a new one that same day. I highly recommend this condo for a getaway to Maui. We’d love to stay here again if we come back to Maui.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing condo, then this is the place for you. Condo 8 has a great view, and condo was everything we wanted. The only downside is that the beach is the color of dark brown sugar, so it makes the ocean look dirty when it really isn't. If you are an avid snorkeler, or like crystal clear water, then make the 30 min drive a few days to Kaanapali beach and park for free to see clear water. The ocean isn't the condos fault, just didn't want someone to be mislead by the "Sugar" beach description. The owner is always around the property and is really friendly and helpful.

Our vacation rental was a 1 bed/ 1 bath with a pullout. It was a very cute little place. We did have 4 people in ours, 2 adults and 2, 16 year old girls. It was a little cramped but we made it work fine. The location was perfect! Waking up everyday to have coffee on the beach was just what we needed. The area is safe enough that we felt comfortable letting our teenage daughters go off and explore on their own. The kitchen was fully equipped with what we needed to make our stay feel like we were still at home.

Perfect mix of togetherness and privacy provided by renting several units, walk to the wedding, walk down the beach to Sugar Beach Bake Shop. B11 is clean, comfortable, well furnished and very nicely updated. The separate enclosed bedrooms were ideal for us. The beach is beautiful, clean, and ideal for long walks and little kid sand castles, sparkling pool a nice alternative to the surf. Hope to return here again.

"The condo was perfect. Beautiful, clean, full kitchen, free coffee, beach supplies. Everything we needed plus more. Best part: to get to the beach you walk out the condo door, go down the hall, pass the pool and there is the beach right in front of you. No road to cross... it's all just there. Ideal location in an ideal community. We loved the condo. We loved the beach. We loved Kihei.

From my side, Elen was great to work with. Her communication was excellent. She kept us totally on top of things and had great recommendations for things to do, places to eat as well as where to rent the car!
My daughter also mentioned that check-out was a breeze. There wasn't a mountain of chores to do like some short term rentals. They totally appreciated that as well.

We’ve stayed many places in Maui and this is a favorite. Great location in Kihei. Super clean, very comfortable beds, excellent pillows and linens. The soundproofing is great and we never heard any road noise or other people. Even though it’s small it never felt crowded. The decor is nice and the whole condo has been updated.
The owner is very responsive and nice. Rick the maintenance person, was so kind and helpful.
My only suggestions for improvement would be if the keyless entry code were simpler- as in the renter’s cell number.
Overall a great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

The unit was clean and everything was functional. We had 6 adults staying here and it was a bit small for our group. Had it been a group with a couple of kids it would have been more appropriate. Pictures make the unit appear a bit bigger. Property was beautiful and we loved the back patio and pool. We were in the ocean a couple times behind the condo as well. The unit is a bit outdated but again it worked for us. We were not in it a lot - we spent our days out exploring the island.

Elen was an excellent host, she was timely with all the information for her condo and then she also had so many recommendations of places to go on the Island. I would highly recommend staying at this location. I will book again on my next trip to the Islands.
A few things had changed since my last visit to Maui that I just wanted other guests to keep in mind if they book a trip. If you do the Road to Hana and want to visit the black sand beach they require reservations. Also if you want to do the Sunrise on Mt Haleakala you will want to book that early, they sell out a month in advance. I will say we did not get a reservation and got a recommendation from a local that stated the sunset is just as gorgeous and you don’t need reservations for that. We did that and she did not disappoint, it was Breathtaking!!!
