The views were amazing, we saw turtles and whales!!! The beach was not really the best, but down the street the beach was great!!! There are a lot of bugs, they did spray while we were there, but still a lot of bugs inside. We found it hard to use the pool and hot tub and get access to the beach as they close everything up at 9pm and don’t open it until 9am. It is very centrally located which is nice!!!

Communication with the property manager was great and the pool, hot tub, and beach at the end of the street were great after a long day. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the unit and property were clean but worn. The towels were thin and the pillows flat but overall would stay again.

This is our third time in Nikta's condo at Ma'alaea Banyans, and it is always a great experience. Being able to watch the sunrise over Haleakala and then walk just a couple of blocks to a quiet sandy beach for a long morning stroll and swim makes our visits to Maui just perfect. We are visiting family in Kahului, so the location is extremely convenient, but it would also be a great base to explore any part of Maui. The condo itself has absolutely everything you might want for your stay, and the complex is very well-maintained. Nikta is accessible and generous, going above and beyond to make sure your visit is exactly what you want, including providing a lovely welcome basket.

This is a great lil condo with a really nice view. The condo looks exactly like the pictures. It was really nice to have the beach chairs and towels to use as well as a small cooler to take to the beach etc (saved us from having to buy one and then figure out what to do with it aftwards.) Gail was great! And responded quickly to any questions that we had. We would stay here again.

The area is remote, beautiful, and charming. The unit was definitely updated and fairly clean with a few exceptions. The unit listed a washer/dryer, but they called us on the first day to say no dryer. Then we had guys come and take the dryer away. A bother, but they gave us a rebate for the trouble. Had that been the only issue, no problem! The most frustrating thing was that the listing says A/C, but that’s not exactly true. There is a single window unit in the living room. Under ideal conditions, it is definitely not big enough to cool the entire unit. So there’s partial A/C—seems like that’s an easy and honest fix to the listing. The bedroom was extremely hot and humid. When we opened the windows in the bedroom, there was instant rush of welcomed air, but not welcomed were the bugs from the outside. The screen was not the right size for the window and there was a two inch gap at the top to the outside. We called and someone was sent out to replace the screen—but it ended up being two days sleeping in the hot bedroom for us. The very dirty curtain in the bedroom over the window kept falling off if the rod as well, but the screen guy fixed that too. After it was fixed, it was still not A/C as advertised. No compensation or response from the host when I asked for it. Having workmen in the unit disrupting our vacation on three occasions was not relaxing. The grounds there are lovely, however.

While working in Kahului, I chose to stay at the Maalaea Banyans which was a great decision! The location was perfect for my daily commute to work and it an easy walk down the street to catch our weekend excursion to Molokini Crater to go snorkeling. The property was very clean, the hot tub and pool were a great addition, I appreciated having cable TV as well as Netflix to watch movies after the sun went down. The only thing that could have made our stay better was that the air conditioning didn’t keep the bedrooms as cool as we would have liked. We did use the box fan we found upstairs to help circulate the air which helped some. We read the other reviews and thought it would be okay but it just didn’t cool down enough for us at night and it was hot. Otherwise, a great stay and highly recommend this property!

There were many issues wrong with the general upkeep such as broken couch bed, sliding door needs repair to track as it was extremely hard to open, virtually no storage in the master bedroom and bed listed in amenities as a king and it was a queen. Maui rental agency did actively work to fix issues and gave me a partial refund as my daughter had to sleep on an inflatable bed.her whole stay except one night. I believe that the rental people should do an occasional inspection of these properties. They did change the amenities list to queen bed. The final recommendation would be to put a dresser with drawers in the master instead of 2 tables pushed together with triangle shaped openings in the front. My husband had to put his open suitcase under the bed because there was inadequate storage.

An absolutely lovely condo overlooking Maalaea Bay. Our favorite place to stay on Maui because it’s centrally located and a bit off the beaten path. This is a perfect place for two people. VERY well stocked kitchen. Washer and dryer. A big storage box on the lanai with everything you need for a day at the beach. A comfortable king sized bed. Communication with the owner was easy and straightforward. We’re already planning a return trip. Highly recommended.

Check-in was a breeze, and the free parking was a bonus. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with stunning ocean views. The condo was cute, spacious, and fully equipped with everything you need—full-size fridge and freezer, oven, coffee makers, washer and dryer, dishwasher, plates, silverware, and kitchen appliances. It even had a hair dryer, big bedroom, air conditioning, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi.
The balcony offered a priceless paradise view, and the pool felt almost private with hardly anyone there. The hot tub stays open until 10 PM, and there’s a special little corner of the beach nearby where we saw sea turtles in the evening. The outdoor kitchen was perfect, with propane BBQs plumbed for all-day use and a sink area.
This spot is an amazing value with a relaxed Hawaiian vibe. Nearby, we found great deals on happy hour—$3-5 mai tais and local draft beers—and a general store within walking distance that had everything we needed, including breakfast options.
We also stayed at the Hilton Waikiki for a weekend, but we were so relieved to return here. It was truly a laid-back oasis, and we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else if we come back to Maui. Great location, fantastic condo, and a wonderful host. Mahalo!

We stayed at a condo in this complex in 2018 which was rented from a private individual so somewhat knew the lay of the land. Good property overall: spectacular view, grills, pool, hot tub (didn’t use any of the facilities this time). Parking is adequate and the grounds are nice. Property is a tad dated and this condo was definitely wanting for some TLC (3 curtains over one window) and peeling paint. I understand that’s potentially partly due to salt air but be aware regardless Overall it was decent but not fantastic. Probably the biggest headache was the AC. One small “window” unit in the living room and a large portable one in the lower bedroom. Oscillating tower fan provided only in the upper loft bedroom which seemed strange given the need and the low cost for these. Both AC units were on twist timers and so shut off by themselves. Bedroom one had a longer timer (6 hrs?) and main area was 2 hours or so. Neither could keep up with the heat and following directions meant shutting it all down every time you leave. Seems logical on paper for cost but then humidity increases dramatically thru glass tilt windows and it never gets it back under control. Bedroom unit had a small drain hose dripping into a plastic waste basket which we discovered would fill up (thankfully before it overflowed). I didn’t remember reading anything about this important responsibility so if it’s not in the listing be aware. Mgmt company communication was great.

The condo was nice but hadn’t been cleaned upon arrival. They were able to get a cleaning crew out there but after a long flight it was definitely an inconvenience. Other than that our stay was great. The view was amazing for watching the turtles and the Monk seal that lays out during the day.

The pictures are deceiving. The building is very rundown. The elevator is over a year expired on being serviced. The patio door is loud and very hard to open/ broken track, we had grandma with us and had to open it for her it was so hard.You cant have food unless its in the fridge because they have a infestation of ants and they are bad if there's any food. Alot of the dishes we pulled out of drawers and knife block were put away with food stuck to them. Water pressure is terrible making it hard to remove sand from your hair. Pool /beach access closes at 9pm. Overpriced. mediocre and not worth what we paid. There are tons of homeless living on the road right behind the parking lot and the parking lot smells like sewer everytime you go to your vehicles.great view from patio and saw turtles on beach. Beds were clean and comfortable.

This was a great property to stay at. We had a hiccup with our check in code for the door but it was addressed within minutes and after that everything was smooth sailing! Thoroughly enjoyed this property, the cleanliness and the location. It was great being so close to the marina, there are a few food options close but we did travel elsewhere for food for more option, only a 15 minute drive to other options. Would stay at again!

Maui was our last of four islands on a two-week vacation, and wrapping it up at Ken and Lori’s condo was just perfect! Spacious and clean, centrally located, and very comfortable. The incredibly well-stocked kitchen and washer/dryer were very helpful, and the private lanai overlooking the ocean is wonderful! We aren’t typically drawn to pools or hot tubs, but we enjoyed both! Daytime outings included a Haleakala sunset; snorkeling at Honolua Bay; relaxing on a nearby beach; and gorgeous drives along the western shore and the Road to Hana. As many as 15 turtles per night came to rest on the beach in front of the condo at sunset—magical! Staying here was a relaxing and beautiful end to a wonderful vacation. Thank you, Ken and Lori!

Maalea is a quiet, secluded spot to get away from it all on Maui, but within easy driving distance of the entire island. You’ll find yourself watching the sunrise often, or everyday as we did, and the enjoy beautiful sunsets from the porch. It is the perfect size for two, very clean and nicely decorated. We actually didn't get to stay here, just reviewing off of what we did see in the 30 minutes we dropped in. Our flights were delayed a whole day. The hurricanes were moving in and we were told by Gail the electricity may get shut off due to the hurricanes coming through and threat of possible fires, so we went closer to the resorts and wetter side of the island. It was a rough first visit to Maui but it was eye opening.

This unit had all we needed. The kitchen was stocked well to have some meal in. There was plenty of linens and even some snorkels and beach items. The location on the water was wonderful. We saw sea turtles from the balcony. The AC unit didn't work great so we just opened a window and the balcony sliding door and had a fantastic breeze the whole day. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a day of exploring. I felt the location was central to the many things we did all over the island. It is not in a main touristy area so you will drive to do the normal things but we did activities in every direction so it worked great for us. They do require a refundable deposit which I was not used to, but I did get it back about a week later.

Stayed for a month while working on island. Maalaea Banyans is a perfect place to stay. Short drive to most places you want to go. Beautiful beach is a 5 minute walk away. The condo is just right for a couple and has everything you need. Kitchen is well organized and we did a lot of cooking there. Finally the view of the ocean is unobstructed and really priceless.

The view was breathtaking. The condo was as described. We loved all the extra thought into the little things available...such as a cooler, beach towels, bbq utensils, etc. We spent a lot of meals, cards, games on patio because it was cooler. The AC didn’t really cool the condo off much, bedroom AC blew out warm air. Leaving ceiling fan on a patio door open did better. May we suggest maybe flipping tv/entertainment center to wall in living room where couch currently is, then add a small sectional couch where tv currently is. Create more comfortable family seating. Three people tops can sit on current couch to watch movie/tv, leaves everyone else pulling up chairs. Microwave door is very inconvenient, needs to swing other direction. Patio door was off track so opened really hard, lights in main bathroom did not work ...other than that, very satisfied!

The room was clean and well stocked with most everything you need except spices. Normally the places we have stayed in has at least salt and pepper, some a cornucopia of of the previous quest spices. The balcony view was beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful as well. Unless you are on the first floor there is no access to them from 10pm to 7:30 am. Being a morning person that was disappointing. This was the first out of 3 condos on this street that was the case. It does have a washer and dryer but no laundry soap, so if you intend to use it bring it with you. Air-conditioning is there if you need it, we live off grid and shut it off. The breeze is more the enough. We enjoyed our stay here.
