We have stayed on this property before and love old school Maui on the west side. We came for work and love all the local businesses! We were bummed to hear about the market and the farmers market not open anymore! However, found great places to find what we love! Eating fish and great fruit! Awesome place!

This smaller sized complex is very quiet and relaxing yet within driving distance to everything the island has to offer. Home-style rooms stocked with beach towels, a cooler, and many extras. Just a few steps away from the pool and awesome ocean views. We appreciated the dedicated parking spot. A short walk to shopping for necessities. Sandy beaches nearby. Great communication with owners.

We had problems getting into the condo because neither the key cards or door code worked but the owner was quick to help us out. The balcony looks out over the ocean and it is wonderful to hear the waves. I suggest you check the location of places you want to go and try to find a close place. It took us 45 minutes to an hour to get to the luau, snorkeling trips, etc that I had arranged. There were closer places I could have chosen but I didn’t think about the drive time.

We stayed (8/8-15). Our group consisted of family of four and a set of grandparents. We loved the location and views of the ocean. There is beach access just a few steps away. The location to the pool is convenient as well as to various sites, beaches and eateries through Kaanapali and surrounding areas.
Positives: 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs and a few various sizes of coolers. 6 beach towels as well. A/C units within property helped keep the temp cool but definitely suggest closing blinds during the afternoon sun. Well stocked kitchen with pots/pans and cooking utensils. Beds and linens were comfortable and high quality. The location of property is very convenient to local supermarkets, restaurants, shopping and beaches.
Negatives: Not many to note but I have a few. If you plan on much cooking, plan on purchasing cooking oil/spray and any spices you may need. Salt/pepper is the only thing provided. A “starter” pack of laundry and dishwasher packs were provided but we quickly ran out with 1 to spare. Again, plan on purchasing additional if you cook/wash frequently. The A/C units did keep mostly the living area and main bedroom cool. As others mentioned, guests staying in back bedroom and loft were hot. Fans were provided which helped a bit. Definitely recommend keeping blinds closed during afternoon sun.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and recommend if the minor inconveniences noted are not a big deal. Mahalo!

I checked in and the front desk gave me card keys. We went to the unit and it did not accept card keys. We tried the code we were given and it did not work. I went to the front desk and they helped as much as they could. The contact number for the owner did not work. The contact number for the cleaner was incorrect. I contacted the owner and management company via email and phone number and no answer. I called VRBO for help. They tried all the numbers and no answer. They were going to cancel our entire reservation for the week and try to find us another place. Finally they got through to the owner who changed the code numerous times remotely and it never worked. Finally their new mangement company changed the code to one that worked. We sat outisde for nearly over an hour and half trying to get this figured out. Security told us the code they had didnt even work. When we got in, the managment company said we had to wriggle the door handle all over to make it work. The lock and door mechanism was not working as it should th entire week. This alone I would never recommend this place to anyone and we would never return. One bedroom also did not have air conditioning. The master bedroom was rather warm also.

We really enjoyed our stay at Maui Sands! The condo literally overlooked the ocean right behind the wave break. We had a beautiful view during the day, and heard the crashing waves at night! We even saw dolphins and a sea turtle!
The place was very clean and comfortable and located conveniently near many favorable places. And the price was right! Thanks to our hosts!

We had a great time staying in B 307. Even though it was a studio, it felt much larger than that. This condo had the best views and your in walking distance to everything that you possibly need. Papakea is by far the nicest resort on
the westside of Maui.

Maui Sands 4E is absolutely stunning! The condo is clean and very well appointed. The balcony view is breathtakingly beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sea turtles swim by every morning and evening. Laura was a fantastic host! We can’t wait to visit again!

We stay at the Maui Sands every year. This is our first year to stay in this particular unit. We really enjoyed the proximity of the parking to the unit. The units air conditioning units were excellent. The property manager was more than accommodating, they even added a crockpot upon our request. We stayed for over a month so our experience might be a little different from others, but I appreciated that the vaccum cleaner actually worked. The two bathrooms and showers were very unique for this condo conplex and so nice to have. There was everything we needed for regular cooking. The refrigerator kept things cold. They are enough plates and bowls that we didn’t have to wash between meals, they even have kids silverware and dishes! We will likely stay again for a month next year!

This unit has a great view and very easy access to the beach. There were German cockroaches in the unit that could not seem to be controlled or eliminated. The management company was responsive and came to put out more roach motels but we did not use the kitchen (otherwise we would have cooked and eaten in) because they were constantly on the counters, in the sink, and on the floor, dead and alive. Also, as another reviewer commented, the ac units cannot adequately cool the apartment. We had all of the fans on and tried everything to get cool air to the back bedroom without success.

This unit has a fantastic view of the ocean and the Maui sunsets. The complex had a pool, shuffleboard, mini golf and grills, all of which we used. It was easy to get to other locations on Maui, even with the unfortunate detour due to the Lahaina fire last year. We had a great time!

Lovely setting and right next to the ocean. Wake up with tropical birds singing and views of the sandy beach and ocean. Palm trees and beautiful tropical vegetation line your condo. Very clean and spacious, easy access to main roads and restaurants and shopping. We had a marvelous experience and will do it again!

The property is clean. Amazing location.. no nee dto go somehwere for anorkling as its really in fromt of your unit. Beach area very clean and easy accessible. Very quiet and the facilities are also very clean and organized. The only suggestion I have is to give direction of the unit location and the office because there was no sign and we did not know where fhe unit was. We have to circle the parking and walk around. But other than that this is difinitelly a repeater and highly suggested. Thank you

Everything was so close to the unit
The ocean was a under a minute and the pool was 30 seconds away
The grounds very lovely and we especially loved having a patio where we could enjoy mornings and evenings
The condo was very well equiped with everything you could think of
The beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms were nice and updated.
The condo was very close to some of the best beaches in Maui with free parking.
We will definitely be back.

Nice sized condo with a spectacular view. It sleeps 6 but we only had 4 adults and it was the perfect size. All appliances worked - washer and dryer were great to have. In master bedroom due to design - people from the next units balcony can see right into the bedroom IF you have the window blinds open. Be careful. Overall a great stay. We want to go back soon!

The location is ok however the AC is undersized for this property, the temperature was at 78 when we arrived, took 1day to get the level down to 74 with all curtains closed, the back bedroom does not have an AC unit and the couple was not comfortable the entire trip. The TV cable was out for 2 days, the master bedroom TV could not get working. The second day we left some food on the counter and it ended up being infested by the bugs, the second day the cockroaches appeared, this absolutely made this place rated at the bottom

My three boys and I had a great stay. Walking distance to some restaurants and ABC Store and a 5-10 minute drive to Black rock and Whaler’s Village. Very clean, very responsive host and had great pool/beach toys, chairs, an umbrella and even beach towels. Recommend!

Very easy to find. Close to a variety of locations. Traveling to any part of the island was easy. We saw turtles off the balcony most days. We loved that the ocean was right there next to our condo. My husband and I had a great time, very relaxing and quiet. My only issue was three items 1: only hot water came out of the kitchen sink. 2: T.V. Did not work in the bedroom. 3: front door with access code did not work most of the time, we ended up using slider door. Other than that we loved the location and it was very convenient to walk around. We would for sure stay there again. I would not recommend with kids.

Our family loved staying in Kristina’s condo. The condo was just as advertised. Very clean and fully stocked with everything needed. The kitchen and linen closet had everything we needed. My kids were especially happy to find snorkel gear, frisbee’s, and beach toys. We had a little trouble with the pullout bed and I messaged Kristina. Within 3 hours the entire sofa bed was replaced and we didn’t notice a thing! Daniel, her on island manager was more than helpful with anything we needed! The condo was beach front and my kids loved playing on the beach. It’s a small beach, but perfect for my kids. The location was perfect. Food trucks close and tons of restaurants and stores in walking distance. The local grocery store is in walking distance as well. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic condo! Quiet, well kept complex with friendly neighbors. Loved the area with everything we needed just steps away. The view is unbeatable with whales, turtles and dolphins passing by daily. Condo was clean and very functional with all the beach necessities provided - two Tommy Bahama beach chairs, plenty of towels, mats, coolers, toys, etc. Beds were very comfortable and we slept quite well. A/C units in all the rooms but we never needed them as we were there in March and there was plenty of cool breeze. Kitchen was great and stocked with all necessary appliances. Can’t wait to return!! Beautiful location and accommodations sum up our experience! The lanai view of whales, dolphins, and sea turtles was just amazing- we spent a lot of time enjoying the wildlife.
The condo was comfortable and the layout worked well for our group --everyone had their own space and we appreciated the convenience of having a washer and dryer.
Janet was very responsive to a slight issue we had and it was fixed without any problems the next day.
We would love to stay here again in the future!

PROS: Very clean, small gift basket w coffee and mac nut clusters, kitchen cooking supplies well stocked, bed and fold out sofa ok, good communication w Vacasa prior to check in, 3 large beach towels supplied, 5 minute walk to park w excellent beach for kids, very quiet the whole time we were there, grounds well kept, large pool (unheated). price very competitive, small strip mall just across the road w good little family owned eateries.
CONS: This whole complex is dated. Our unit had several windows that did not open or close completely, furniture worn; access to bedroom only through bathroom-ie if someone was using bathroom you couldn't get into bedroom, pool not heated so on cold days we still did not want to use the pool, (complex nextdoor had 2 heated pools), no beach chairs supplied, beach in front of complex was too rocky for little kids so had to walk to beach down the road
Overall just OK, biggest plus was the cleanliness, but would prob not opt to stay in this unit again.More

The condo has amazing views from the living room and the lanai. The only downside is that the condo is in need of some updating. This was clear ahead of time from the listing but we were still a little surprised the extent when we first walked in. However that quickly fell to the background with the beautiful views. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Wish it actually had a beach front but we had a wonderful stay. The only thing we were concerned about is the mold my son found in pockets in the wall below the air conditioner units which caused me congestion most of our stay. Otherwise nice place!

Thank you for everything! We are a family of 4 and had such an amazing time in Maui! Waking up and watching the whales from the balcony and watching the sunset every night was so amazing! The beds were comfy the rooms were the perfect temperature with air conditioning and fans! We loved hearing the waves and opening all the windows to see the views! We loved being the corner unit! We felt very safe and comfortable! It has all the beach toys from 2 different size coolers, 2 chairs, snorkeling gear, and more! Along with kitchen spices and coffee and all the stuff you need, even a flat iron and hair products!! Above and beyond! Would definitely recommend and hope to come back one day! Oh and the directions to the unit were perfect and Laura was easy to communicate with! Thank you so much! Can’t say enough it was so perfect! We got delayed and stayed at the Fairmont hotel for a night but we all preferred Laura’s place over the fancy Fairmont! :) :o
