This place is everything it's represented to be online, but Ray was an especially awesome host. We had a communication problem (on my part, not his - I'd had trouble changing the number of guests on the VRBO app and hadn't realized I hadn't correctly registered the number of guests when my son and girlfriend decided to join us kind of last minute). Ray was super helpful, didn't hold the error against me, and helped us figure out everything we needed. Highly recommend this condo and owner!

Everything about our stay in this unit was excellent, from start to finish. It was exactly as described with plenty of space for our family of 5. One of the best features was the fully-stocked kitchen, which made it feel like home. We also appreciated the beach chairs, pool noodles and boogie boards. Looked like there was quite a bit of snorkel gear as well, though we rented ours from a local shop. We stayed over Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised that there was a box of nice decorations and lights that we were able to put up to make it feel more festive. Communication and care from Don was outstanding. The only negative thing that we experienced was the noise from people getting out of the elevator early every morning (It sounded like they were standing over your bed talking, lol). Nothing anyone can do about that though!Honestly, this is just the best unit and Papakea itself was amazing too. Don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it. In fact, we hope to go back some day!!

Of all the condos at Papakea resort, THIS is the one you want! It is a ground floor condo that faces the ocean. There is no sand but there is a 25’ wide strip of beautiful lawn between you and the ocean. The vast ocean view is absolutely unobstructed. There is an infinity edge black rock wall from the edge of the lawn that drops down to the ocean, preventing erosion. We had a very high tide one day and the waves crashing against the wall sprayed about 10’ feet up in the air. It was magical. A lovely beach with a big shade tree is about a one minute walk over a quaint, bridge walkway. The condo itself was very comfortable with everything one could possibly want. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the kitchen was the most fully stocked I’ve seen and the couch was very comfy as well. Excellent wi-fi, big TV, quiet ceiling fans in the living room, kitchen and bedroom. We propped the front door open as we’d seen others do, to take advantage of the cool island breezes that came through from the front to the back of the condo and we never turned on the AC. We did not want to leave and we WILL be back!

There was a tiny snafu on check in (things happen) yet the staff at the property and the cleaners worked to take care of things quickly while we went out to grab a bite to eat. We appreciated there help. The unit itself was well appointed with all that we needed. Air conditioning worked while it was not needed much. Location makes it very easy to walk to lots of food as well as the water. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the morning while the teens slept in. Lots to explore very very close by. Plenty space inside and out to relax.

The property was paradise! Couldn’t have asked for more -view of the ocean, palm trees, pond with a bridge, pool, hot tub, putting green and lit torches at night. The beach walkway was conveniently located next to our property which went for miles down the beach. The property was very clean as was our beautiful condo which had every amenity needed!

We enjoyed our stay greatly in this perfect little 1 bedroom condo, which offered everything you need for a beach vacation. The condo was super clean with comfortable beds. Few things where the ice maker was not working in the fridge and we found few critters running around, which really did not bother us much. It was awesome to watch whales right from your balcony. This place had such a great view, relaxing vibe, and location was convenient. Loved loved loved the views. Pool, hot tub, and grills are great. Communication with property management was great. Check in was a breeze. I would recommend the owner do a deep clean of the condo. When laying in bed you can see a layer of dust on the walls. I imagine this could be an issue with someone who has allergies. Overall the condo was clean but really needs a deep clean especially in those areas that you don’t clean on a regular basis.

Overall great. Encountered couple minor issues (fan not working, towel hanging rod falling, power outlets). Host communicated promptly, however the maintenance team could've been a bit more proactive on fixing other independent issues at the beginning instead of waiting for me to test the power outlet issue first. 5-Star Review:We had an incredible stay at this Maui rental and can’t recommend it enough!The unit was spotless, well-maintained, and looked exactly like the photos. Being oceanfront was a dream—perfect for cocktail hours while watching the waves and enjoying sunsets in mid/late December just within view. The patio’s orientation kept it cool, as it never received direct sunlight, which was a huge plus.The unit stayed comfortable throughout our stay, and we didn’t need to use the AC. Two large fans were provided, and we used one in the bedroom to keep a nice airflow from the living room. TVs were available in both rooms, though we couldn’t figure out what made the bedroom TV “smart” since only cable seemed to work.The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances, plates, and other essentials. While we noticed the washing machine pods were missing upon arrival, the host promptly resolved this after quick communication, which we really appreciated.The location was unbeatable—within walking distance of coffee shops, stores, food trucks, and beachside bars. The resort itself was amazing with plenty of activities and spacious common areas, so it never felt crowded despite being lively.We had such a fantastic time here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!

The condo was very nice. Clean and had everything you will need on vacation (minus shampoo and conditioner). It is nicely updated except the carpet on stairs. Location was great. Food trucks and other restaurants close by. A short walk to sand beach but can use lawn chairs next to the ocean on the property. We had a slight hang up with the code to the door upon arrival which was quickly fixed by the rental company. My only other hang up is that it’s advertised as “pent house” when in reality it is a very nice 4th floor condo. While there are ocean views from the living room and master bath, the lanai is only off the living room. The third bedroom is actually a loft with bath—very nice but not private and can be noisy if other family is up before whomever sleeps there. I was expecting a third bedroom with door and the pull out couch to be in loft area. That was my mistake however as I apparently misread the description. Enjoyed our stay but would probably find a condo with an actual third bedroom with door and more lanai area to enjoy the beauty.

We stay at this property 1-2 times per year and our first time at this property. Dawn was so wonderful at communication and the unit was perfect. Ground floor is our favorite because we are just steps from the pool and ocean ...and our kiddos love to chase the birdies on the grass outside. We found a wagon in the closet which was AMAZING!!! We used it every day we went to the beach which was so helpful to lug our stuff aroub 10/10 thabk you Dawn!

The listing of this property was very accurate. The location was great. The property came with wonderful amenities as listed. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back again. The only downside is the bugs throughout the condo, primarily viscosities in the kitchen. We did reach out to the owner who said she would have it sprayed.

Amazing property and great amenities. We enjoyed the pool, access to the beach, putting green and shuffle board. We also enjoyed the view of the ocean and all the whales. The only issue we had with our stay was the beds. If you are accustomed to sleeping on a firm mattress you will have no issues. These beds are the most firm mattresses we have ever slept on. This was the only issue with our stay. The condo is well equipped and the views are incredible. We went back through the reviews and no one else mentioned the firmness of the beds. So it may get be just our opinion. The staff at this condo are amazing and helpful. Overall it was an amazing stay and we will definitely want to go back to this condo if we go back.

The unit is about 30 feet from the water. We spotted whales while sitting on the lanai. Restaurants, grocery store and shops are easily walkable. Two pools and hot tubs, tennis courts, putting green. Unit itself is lovely and stocked with amenities. Communication with the owner is excellent! We plan to stay again.

We selected Papakia for its relaxing less busy (first week in Dec.) environment, we have stayed at the resort several
times previously and always enjoy the walk ability and nearby restaurants and groceries. We are a retired couple on our early seventies Security handled our 1am arrival immediately without the need for contacting them
Unit D304 has excellent views and daytime shade from the lanai and the interior upgrades are excellent and all very
clean and new You may have to bring your own spices and other condiments if desired but not an issue for us

You have the view of the ocean and can literally hear the smashing of the waves! It was an incredible experience and family bonding time for us in Maui! We love staying at Papakea and our unit was clean & tidy. We were, however, quite surprised at the total lack of basic amenities: toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, hand soap. We attempted to contact the host, to no avail. Seems like most of those items would be included, as they are everywhere else.

We fell in love with the location. Right in the sea wall and spent most of our afternoons laying out. We were able to spot turtles and whales from the patio (even walked out and snorkeled with the turtles right there with host provided snorkel gear!). It’s not a crowded facility, mostly retirees and a few families. We made great use of the kitchen as well as the resort provided grills. Would definitely consider rebooking if/when back on Maui.
