We selected Papakia for its relaxing less busy (first week in Dec.) environment, we have stayed at the resort several
times previously and always enjoy the walk ability and nearby restaurants and groceries. We are a retired couple on our early seventies Security handled our 1am arrival immediately without the need for contacting them
Unit D304 has excellent views and daytime shade from the lanai and the interior upgrades are excellent and all very
clean and new You may have to bring your own spices and other condiments if desired but not an issue for us

Everything was up to our expectations! We enjoyed a lot of home-cooked meals right on our balcony that’s overlooking the pool. You have the view of the ocean and can literally hear the smashing of the waves! It was an incredible experience and family bonding time for us in Maui! The unit is clean, well kept, the beds are comfortable we can’t ask for anything else!

We love staying at Papakea and our unit was clean & tidy. We were, however, quite surprised at the total lack of basic amenities: toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, hand soap. We attempted to contact the host, to no avail. Seems like most of those items would be included, as they are everywhere else.

Only problem was no AC or ventilation in bedrooms. Had to leave BR door open to get AC from the living room which meant late sleepers had to hear early risers.

We fell in love with the location. Right in the sea wall and spent most of our afternoons laying out. We were able to spot turtles and whales from the patio (even walked out and snorkeled with the turtles right there with host provided snorkel gear!). It’s not a crowded facility, mostly retirees and a few families. We made great use of the kitchen as well as the resort provided grills. Would definitely consider rebooking if/when back on Maui.

The property was even better than we had imagined. The sunset view from the corner unit was awesome! The location was perfect for the activities we had planned on Maui. The kids loved the pool and hot tub and the upscale Weber grills around the pool were a bonus. There was a lot of beach equipment included and plenty of kitchen appliances & utensils available. The hosts were very responsive to all of our questions and we had a very enjoyable experience.

My husband and I stayed here with my one year old daughter. The location is central to everything and the unit is very well equipped with kitchen supplies and beach supplies. Laundry in unit and a pull out couch. Also, a shower and half bath tub, so good for little ones baths! We would stay again! The owner was very responsive to phone calls and texts. Thank you!

Loved the resort and the unit was well laid out and located. The dishwasher had some issues, I don’t think it was installed properly so the door will not stay open during loading and it left dishes dirty. I thought the mattress was too soft but I know some people prefer soft style mattresses, so I could be just me. Mostly these are just tips for the owner. I appreciate the opportunity to stay here!

Loved the view and amazing sunsets. It was fun watching the many turtles passing by from the lanai. Unit was very comfortable and we used the available beach chairs on our trips to the beautiful beaches nearby. We walked to some restaurants and others were not far by car.

My wife and 2 teenage kids stayed in the the unit. On initial arrival, the A/C was not working properly. Contacted the host and an HVAC tech was onsite same day and had hit fixed. Found the drain blocked, so easy fix. . I bring this up to show the attentiveness from the host. He was awesome. The unit was clean and description was spot on. Kids had their own beds, which was great.Beds were all very comfortable and clean. The kitchen had all the necessities and having washer/dryer was nice. The view from the deck was great and we watched turtles feed 30 yards off the beach every day. I even snorkeled out and swam with them, but kept the required 10 feet distance. The unit is within walking distance to everything needed to make your comfortable including grocery store, gas station, restaurants and dive shop. The beach is a short walk away. The hot tub and pool was always clean. The grounds were well taken care of. We highly recommend this unit and location.

The property and condo were amazing. Great view of the ocean and grounds from the 4th floor balcony. Easy access from nearby parking lot. An easy quick walk to all amenities and the ocean. The unit was clean and had a well equipped kitchen, with the host kindly providing enough coffee filters, dishwasher and washing machine tabs, garbage bags, etc for the two weeks we were there. A couple of suggestions: the fold out couch could do with a better mattress, and the lanai furniture is not very comfortable. Otherwise, a lovely unit!

Very good location. The grounds were very well kept. The seawall area is a beautiful area to relax and view the sunset. The water in the area is quite a bit more turbulent then other parts of the island but still beautiful. The unit was nice. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The bed was the winner in this stay. Very comfortable. The area was very nice. Plenty of unique eating opportunities nearby. The best experience of the stay was staying in contact with the owners. They responded to your questions or needs immediately. It is always a relief to know that you can get in touch with the owners for your concerns with a phone call. Thank you for that.

It had all the needed amenities including beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, snorkeling gear and washer and dryer. The condo was clean. Never heard any noise our neighbors and always had parking. It was close to other beaches, a grocery store and lots of restaurants! Would definitely stay again.

My two friends and I stayed for 6 nights at this lovely property. Carol, the owner was so easy to work with, and assisted with getting us early access to the condo which was much appreciated. The kitchen was well-stocked and everything was super clean. The front desk staff were very helpful and gave us several excellent restaurant recommendations. The grounds were beautiful, very-well kept. We enjoyed the pool and one night there was a complimentary happy hour. The location could not be beat--so close to the sea--wall, allowing you to watch the waves and experience beautiful sunsets. You could walk in just a few minutes to the next resort, and swim at their beach--plus enjoy delicious drinks at their bar. All in all, it was a wonderful stay--oh, and parking was a breeze! Our family of 10 (11 when you count our infant granddaughter) had a wonderful time at Brian’s place.
The condo was clean and suited our needs just great! There were plenty of beds for all of us! The kitchen was stocked well including spices and such from other guests to get us started.
Plenty of soaps, shampoos, toilet paper.and laundry soap. So many nice touches.
Papakea resort was beautiful as well. The kids loved the swimming pool! The beach steps away had shady spots while we played in the ocean for the days we didn’t want to drive anywhere.
Communication with the owner was spot on!

Two weeks at this lovely property. The owner was responsive and assisted us with requests. The condo unit itself was clean and well located overlooking the ocean.
Our only suggestion for improvement would be in designating one of the two swimming pools on the property as adult only and “quiet “ so that guests who wish to relax and read could enjoy the space. We often found the pools to be noisy with young children and filled with children’s toys and games. One quiet pool would provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the pool experience they are looking for.
