Wonderful view and nice accommodations; but not for us. The main bathroom has no privacy from the bedroom, no walls or door even for the toilet. The second bedroom, although better, still has no door and glass in shower that is visible from bedroom. If someone is sleeping, any lights turned on will be visible to bedroom from both bathrooms. This might not be a problem for some; but a negative thing for us. There is a Murphy bed in the den; but there is no way to close it off from the rest of the house. I think that there used to be; but with a remodel the listed pocket doors have been removed.

The unit is well maintained and nicely decorated. There's lots of room, a lovely and large balcony, and a wonderful kitchen. There are two very nice full baths. It's also right along the beach and next to food and shopping. I highly recommend it.

The location of the property is bar none the best on the island. Each unit at The Whaler is individually owned and therefore each unit varies substantially in what a renter can expect. Steve openly lists his property as discounted in compared to others in the resort. There is a reason for this and manage your expectations as a renter accordingly. Highly functional with all appliances and amenities, amazing ground floor location however furnishings and condition of unit are well worn.

While very familiar with Ka’apali , we had never stayed at the Whaler. Management was very responsive and communicated well. The unit was exactly as described and furnished beautifully! The furniture and bed were comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well provisioned. We spent a lot of time on the spacious lanai enjoying the ocean view.

Perfect place for a family of 4. Ground level corner unit allowed easy in and out for the kids. Everything was kept up nice except the bathrooms. They both could use some updating and the toilet seat wasn’t on very well. The main bathroom had a funky odor which was unpleasant. Nice to have a washer and dryer.

My wife and I spent a week in this absolutely beautiful condo. Beautiful location, beautiful view, place was spotlessly clean. It also has beach chairs, and umbrellas to use, which was a plus! Absolutely wonderful stay! Would definitely recommend us to anybody! The view from the lanai was spectacular!

Our unit was amazing! What a picture-perfect view and location! The oceanfront, wraparound lanai was perfect for happy hour and sunsets. The unit had all the accommodations you need. It was nicely furnished, very clean and has a convenient washer and dryer. We felt at home right away during our stay. Also, the owners are very helpful and communicate before and during the stay. We are looking forward to our next visit. I highly recommend booking this unit.

We enjoyed our stay here. The Whaler and its staff are awesome. It is a beautiful and well maintained property. The ppl from the front desk to the workers as well as the other guests are friendly and laid back.
The condo was spotless and had everything we needed for quick brunches to full blown dinners. Dinner from the balcony, taking in that sunset, never grows old.
It is an easy walk to Black Rock and the Sheraton where we have always enjoyed snorkeling and always found turtles somewhere around. The Whaler Village has so much going on that if you need a shopping or restaurant fix, it is right next door.
Looking forward to returning.
It is so easy to find and get into the aloha spirit here.

We have stayed at the Whaler several times, and this was our first time staying at this condo. The owners were very prompt in responding to me, which I really appreciated. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed the ease of being on the ground floor. The only downside to this location is there is a lot of foot traffic and not a lot of privacy. This condo does have just about everything you might need except for beach chairs and an umbrella. Now, the Whaler does provide complimentary chairs, but you need to get there early as everyone gets chairs and leaves them on the beach with towels until they are ready to use them. This was frustrating and I just want to give future vacationers this info. This does not reflect on the owners, but it would be nice if they would provide at least a couple of chairs. The interior of the condo is nice but could use some updating specifically in the bathrooms. With that being said, we enjoyed our stay at this condo, and we would definitely stay again here. The Whaler is right on the beach and next to the Whalers Village, which has shopping and dining etc.

The place was wonderful for our family of 4! Great location, had debated other places nearby and the proximity to Whalers Village was very appreciated during our stay. Beach section is great, easy towels process, nice refreshing pool when we needed an ocean break, plus free and easy parking which made day trips super easy.
Unit is well loaded with beach supplies and kitchen items. Beds were extremely comfy except the pull out sofa, they ended up sleeping on the couch (slept very well but something to be aware of).
Overall we'd gladly stay again and were sad to say goodbye.

Great location amazing view and sunsets the only negative was there were no beach chairs in the unit .They have them for Whaler guests on the beach for free but they run out early.I purchased 2 Tommy Bahama beach chairs and an umbrella and left them in the unit hopefully they’ll be there when we come back.

We had another great stay at Laura and Jim’s condo at the Whaler! Perfect location being ground level and being able to enjoy the grass and landscaping, get morning coffee quickly, not have to deal with elevators and get to the beach in a matter of seconds. We loved having the space of a full kitchen. Bought groceries and cooked in the unit and also at the BBQs below. With a family... 2 bathrooms is a must. Floor to ceiling windows provided fantastic views from the balcony which felt like we were 'at the beach from above' while relaxing and eating meals outside. Were there some smells once in a while from the Hula Grill below? Yes. But not that big of a deal for us. Music from below too? Yes. We enjoyed it. Host was on point with good communication. Had an excellent stay! Recommended.

Steps from Whaler’s Village for restaurants and shopping, easy walk to Black Rock for cliff jumping for our teen boys and steps to early morning Catamaran snorkel trip from beach. The remodeled home had more than enough room for our family of 5 and was well stocked w everything we needed. We didn’t use the pool since we prefer the ocean but the tennis and pickle ball courts were great and the grounds w koi pond and waterfalls were beautiful. Highly recommend!
