The other reviews are accurate. The location, facilities and views are excellent. The property itself is gorgeous, the staff super friendly and welcoming. The unit was clean, plenty of clean towels. It had everything we needed. Views were perfect. You can see black rock and the ocean from the main room and the bedroom. The unit itself is a little dated, but we were good with that. We will be back.

View from condo: Oceanfront-breathtaking. Location: When you watch sunsets from your balcony you will hear the Hawaiian singers playing from the Hula Grill next-door. It's dreamy. Just steps from whalers village & all the other hotels and restaurants. Parking: included in cost of condo. Condo Amenities: there is 1 beach chair, a portable ice chest, 2beach umbrellas & a beach bag. There's a black and decker automatic coffee pot, but you'll need to bring your own #4 coffee filters and coffee. The lobby does offer coffee for free or you can walk to the nearby Starbucks. There are instructions on how to use the TVs remote but the Samsung remote only turns TV on and works the volume. You'll need to use the 2nd smaller remote to stream. The owner provides small hotel type of hand bar soaps, travel size shampoo & conditioner. The complex does supply beach towels. There is a stand near the pool & for $100 a day you can rent 2 lounges & 1 umbrella, $25 for a chair. The chairs are free after 5 PM. This condo is in the perfect location and you will have a wonderful vacation if you stay here.

Lighting needs attention…bulbs were out or missing, bathroom lighting in the shower area was like having a nightlight on. Holes in sheets,Tv completely inoperable(TV did not respond to the remote)no kleenex. Very dated shower. overall loved the location, loved the view, but this unit needs definite attention and updating to a VRBO standard.

We loved our stay in this unit at the Whaler, this was our first time in this condo, but second time at the Whaler.
We love the location where we can walk to snorkeling at Black Rock, get coffee in the morning at Whaler's Village and then go look at the flamingos at the Westin, and be close to most things we wanted to do on the west side.
The unit was very clean, and as some people mentioned, could use some updating, but overall the unit is great. And you can't beat the view! Waking up to Black Rock every morning was the absolute best.
I will note for anyone in this unit, you can't see the sunset from the unit, you will need to go down to the beach. We loved it since we would pick up the chairs and then sit on the sand every night to enjoy the sunset. In my opinion, Tower 2 is better than Tower 1 based on the view alone.
We would definitely stay in this unit again! Check in was really easy, we got right in at 3pm, the shopping carts in the underground parking made it really easy for us to take less trips to our room. The staff onsite were incredibly nice and had activities through the week.

Overall it was wonderful. Great location and views. Condo was clean ,comfortable, spacious and great view. The only thing that could be improved upon is the bed. I am 5'2 and weigh 125 lbs. and I could feel the springs. It was also very hard. A mattress topper would help immensely. Also all the pillows were old ,flat and hard.

First of all checking in was a breeze my party was happy to have the beautiful view of the ocean and the mountains view and the courtyard sunset we’re beautiful from our condo
Here are some suggestions we use what was available. I’m giving you some suggestions of what you need to add Not enough chairs at the dining room table to accommodate eight even though we only had six in the condo we only had for chairs for the dining room table
Wine Glasses & Coffee Mugs for 8 People and plastic cups for use on lanai for a party of eight would be good
The frying pans need to be updated not so used can be a health issue
Extra blankets would be nice also there was two blow dryers and only one worked
Overall, we love the place just needs to be updated. We are looking to definitely come back and stay. Next year

We’ve stayed at the Whaker several times, but this is my favorite condo yet. The owners have updated and thought of everything. The room has a washer and dryer which was very convenient, a great new coffee maker that takes pods or grounds, bed is extra comfortable, well supplied cupboards, as well as a closet with all the beach gear conveniently located. Owners are easy to communicate with. Will stay here again!

My family of 4 (including 2 kids age 9 and 12) stayed in Liz's unit at the Whaler. The location can't be beat! The view was amazing. The unit has everything you need and the owner is fantastic to deal with. The beds (1 king, 1 double Murphy bed and they even had a roll-away cot) were comfortable and the unit was sparkling clean and quiet. Thanks for the great stay and we hope to return soon!

We booked room 656 at the last minute. Staff were lovely as usual, but unit is in serious need of refurbishment. Great location toward front of tower on the 6th floor, but bathroom is in sad shape. Carpets need to be replaced or deep cleaned, kitchen cabinets are in need of repair. Unit is well stocked with supplied for living as well as for the beach. Just needs to be updated - a full remodel would not be out of place, but probably to expensive given the current economic climate. All in all, we DID enjoy our stay

This is my second time renting this unit and absolutely love it. The view is spectacular, the bed is so comfortable and the owner is fantastic to work with. We utilized the umbrella and coolers for the beach and the binoculars were fun for watching the ocean.

They were working on the balcony and nowhere in the listing. Did they state that you could not go out between the hours of eight and 430. Balcony was off with plastic so in order to see the view you had to stand up. We had a corner room which hindered sitting outside unless we were standing up. This unit should never have been rented under the circumstances. This unit is in need of updating.

We stayed in a studio condominium at the Whaler for the very first time in September. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and very well kept, everything was easily accessible to us within walking distance! Lots of food choices both easy and elegant, tons of shopping nearby, snorkeling right off the beach with just a short walk, sunset on ka’anapali beach at night. There is nothing you can want for that this resort doesn’t have to offer. Beach chairs, swim towels, snorkeling gear, you name it! Our condominium was booked through a private party, and the owners were so accommodating and communicative. We had such an amazing time and we cannot wait to go back!

I absolutely loved the location, and The Whaler staff and facilities were excellent. The room itself was overpriced for what it was - many of the appliances need replacing and the room itself didn't feel very clean (particularly the bathroom). Overall I would absolutely stay at The Whaler again, but I would probably pass on staying in this particular room.

The Whaler 1169 was everything we hoped it would be. Incredible views from the Lanai of the beach, the mountains and the island of Lanai. Well appointed kitchen with everything you need to prepare any meals. Close to everything Kaanapali has to offer with a five minute walk to snorkeling at Black Rock and all the convenience of Whalers Village next door. KBM was a pleasure to work with and check in and check out were seamless. The free rental car was an added bonus. You can’t go wrong with this condo or the Whaler.
