This review would’ve been mostly positive. We were willing to overlook the problems we encountered since the location was nice and we had a beautiful view. We came into the property with dirty floors, a broken dishwasher, a frozen over fridge, and stains on a few couches.
After we got home, I got an email that they charged us $178 to clean stains on the furniture that were obviously hidden by the past guests. We used the pull out couch for a bed and the bottom of the cushions had stains, which had obviously been flipped over by whoever stained them. We didn’t realize we had to log every imperfection in this giant presidential suite before we settled in. That was the last thing on our minds after a long travel day.
So being the optimist I am, I thought—no big deal—I’ll contact the management company/owner and let them know of the misunderstanding. I confirmed with my party that the stains were there before us, and I emailed and called and logged my complaint. My communication was met with silence. No resolution, not even an acknowledgment or apology.
I will update this review if they resolve the issue, but currently I would advise you to stay away from this place. There are plenty of other options on this beautiful island. Don’t settle.

We had a family of 5 and a toddler. There were enough comfortable beds for all of us and the convenience of having 2 1/1 bathrooms! Always enjoy staying here due to the walking distance ro ala moana center.

The Room Was Absolutely Perfect In Every Way!!! Our room came with Ocean View from my balcony which was breath taking. The room is very beautiful and clean. Check in and check out was quick and easy. I would definitely book my stay here again and highly recommend it !!!!

They need to take care of the mildew on the shower curtain and around the corners of the bathtub when you adjust the water such a pain in the butt there's only one handle and you turn it to adjust hot and cold so it's not too separate vowels, which is such a pain in the butt.

This unit is a VRBO unit that I booked via Expedia. Unit was fine. I liked the location. The view was ok. There were problems with the unit, primarily the toilet. I am a hotelier. This happens. What is important is how the management company responds. The management company, Lei Hawaii Realty, was very responsive, professional and kind. The location, at the Ala Moana Hotel, was fantastic. The unit met all my needs. Mahalo.

Pros: The views from the various balconies were exceptional- we saw the ocean waves during the day and the sunset at night. The suite was spacious with the stated number of bedrooms and bathrooms. The proximity to the Ala Moana shopping center was excellent - able to grocery shop as well as shop for any other items one might need.
Cons: The 2 living rooms and master bedroom were fine, but the kitchen and bathrooms appeared old and in need of a complete refurbishment. While the master bedroom was updated, the AC did not work for the entire stay. They brought in a small fan for the room and refunded a very small part of our total bill. The kitchen sink had mold around its rim and the floor was so dirty that the bottom of my white socks was completely black.
The amount they charged for the “Presidential Suite”
is excessive given the present condition described above.
The upkeep appears to be neglected. If they could fix these deficiencies I might stay here again. However, its current condition does not warrant the stated rate for the suite.

Overall, a really great holiday, it was our 30th wedding anniversary and we love spending time at Oahu. We always stay at the Ala Moana Hotel and use Lei Hawaii Realty Inc as our preferred Condominium rental within the hotel. The rooms are quite tired looking and could do with some TLC.

Location was great, nice views, great common space for family. Great to be next to the Ala Moana mall for ease of simple meals. There were a few things that were breaking (toilet paper holder, batteries in remote, lamp shade, dryer lint cleaner, but they tried to address what they could quickly. I only wish it was easier to communicate with host- such as a quick text rather than messaging through VRBO - the response time was pretty good, but was more of a hassle than other places I’ve stayed at. There really is nothing provided besides plates and appliance so you do need to buy quite a lot if you plan on cooking any meals. Luckily, the food court at the mall is terrific. Overall, a beautiful place to stay!

The only thing I didn't like was not being able to get more towels from housekeeping or toilet paper or any normal replenishable necessities. Also, we had to buy beach towels because the hotel would not provide us with any towels to take to the beach because we weren't part of the hotel. Other than that, everything was wonderful and the view was amazing

This property was perfect for our family of 4 (kids ages 4 & 10). It was in a fantastic location, short walk to the Ala Moana mall with great food options and shopping. The baby beach was super close which was perfect for our kids. And you can’t beat that skyline view of Honolulu from the balcony. The hotel itself was also nice. Would definitely stay here again!

I would recommend booking directly with the hotel if possible. I ran into a couple of questions and issues and each time, it was the next day or several hours before I received a reply with no resolution. We had a tight turn around for check in since we had a birthday party to get ready for and when I messaged the host saying the room wasn't ready at gaurunteed check in time, she responded a couple hours later when we were alerted the room was ready.The room was some what clean but the coffee maker still had water in it from previous use and only had one small roll of toilet for a 5 night stay. Anything additional needed we were told to purchase. At check out we were informed that dishes needed to be washed and an extra fee would be charged for ANY TRASH left behind. This was not in the listing or the check in information. There was no dish soap or sponge and there are no large trash cans nearby to dispose of trash. We actually checked out a day early because of the horrible experience so drove back to the hotel to do the best we can in disposing of ALL the trash in the room. It wasn't worth the stress and hassle of staying here. I should've just booked with the hotel directly.

But the Vacation Rentals don’t have that service. So I use it as my own room. It was very relaxing. Of course we were satisfied the location, the view and the price, everything. Ala Moana Hotel is a beautiful place to celebrate special occasions! My family and I recently celebrated my 60th Birthday in Honolulu Hawaii!! My husband and I stayed here with my parents while we were all celebrating our anniversaries. The property is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The views were breathtaking. Check-in was easy. Parking was a bit of a pain as the garage is small and the spaces are tight. It was a huge plus that the mall is within walking distance. The only downside is the kitchen has ZERO spices, condiments, or oils. The ice maker hadn’t even been turned on before hand so we had to buy ice! Also, one of the hair dryers did not work, so my mom and I were shuttling it back and forth. All that being said, We would definitely stay here again.

The stay was good once I got in the room. The room was supposed to be ready at 3 but when I got there at 4:45 and tried to check in at the front desk, the paperwork hadn’t been sent in. I called the property manager and he was difficult to understand and got impatient with me. He said he’d send the paperwork in 5 min. I checked again and still nothing. I then called him back again at least 3x and he didn’t answer. I ended up asking VRBO for help and they finally helped me to contact the host for the paperwork. We finally got the key after 1/2 an hr. When we opened the door to the room it hadn’t been cleaned! We left and I had to call the property manager again. Apparently the housekeeper went home sick. They sent someone to clean the room and it was finally ready at 7:30 pm, 4 1/2 hrs later. Sadly, they blamed the check in problem on the hotel though the 4 hotel workers at the front desk were so helpful! They also blamed the housekeeper for not telling them the room wasn’t clean. In my eyes none of this was my fault though I took the hit. The host refunded me the cleaning fee but I thought I should get more than that for the huge inconvenience.

Great location! Great space& accommodation. A few needs however.. 2nd bathroom had only 1/2 roll of toilet tissue, tub needs regrouting & side floor tiles as well. Kitchen has no salt, pepper, coffee, tea or condiments as in other VRBO accommodations we have been to.
