We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo on our first trip to Hawaii. It was everything as advertised. It is a small one-bedroom which met our needs. The location was great, on a busy street in Waikiki, but quiet in the condo. The building is secure, with 24 hour security. We rented a car and parking was included in a gated garage. There are lots of good restaurants in walking distance. We only visited the beach a couple of times, but it is within a 10-15 minute walk.
Margo was a great host. She met us in the lobby to check us in. We were greeted with a bouquet of fresh roses and a fresh fruit bowl. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed and then some, including dishes, silverware and utensils. Amenities included a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, even a beach umbrella and beach chairs. Margo was available if we needed her for anything (we didn’t) but left us alone after checking us in. She gave us some great advice on places to eat and things to do in the neighborhood. I would gladly stay there again if I make it back to Honolulu.

I stayed here with my son and security was number one priority. The parking lot was gated in a 24 hour security building.
Plenty of places to eat and shop within 5 min walking distance! There’s a deli/convenient store right across from the street which had most of the things.
The place had everything we needed since I cooked most days. Bbq gas grill on the deck was very useful as well.
The property manager was really helpful and was able to manage everything we needed.
We definitely want to stay here again when we come back! Thank you!

The cleaner didn't show up to clean the unit and changed towels/blankets/pillowcases. We had to clean the unit and washed towels/blankets/pillowcases by ourselves and got refunded for $300. (The property manager didn't follow-up with the cleaner to make sure the unit ready to check-in.)
The laundry washer machine was broken on the second day we stay, and still broken by the time we check-out. (The property manager didn't update us the status of fixing the laundry washer machine until we chatted with her. Then, she contacted the vendor. They promised that they will come and fix it but it didn't happen.)
The toilet seat is old. They need to replace it.
The location is convenient, close to the beach and the waikiki shopping area. The big balcony is a plus but too windy since the unit on level 11.
Note: The unit's parking is parallel. We rent a large SUV 7-seat and it took us a while to park.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel, there was nothing but confusion and lack of communication. Hotel staff had no idea what we were talking about during check-in. It took them almost an hour to give us room keys and they said there was only valet parking, which is not true.
The big issue was lack of communication with the host. The front door came completely unhinged and couldn't be shut so I literally had to sit and wait for over 6 hours for it to get fixed. I called the host 11 times, left 4 voice messages and sent multiple messages on vrbo before I got a call back. The hotel manager even called them but got zero response. Completely wasted a day and missed an appointment because I couldn't leave the place wide open.
Needless to say, the frustration and hassle made the stay here not worth it. The lack of communication is unacceptable and very rude. There are too many other places to stay for the same price and location so I would absolutely not stay here again.

Staying here ruined my trip. Please do NOT rent here. I took my mom to Hawaii for the first time with my wife and right when we arrived at the property, we noticed the living room was flooded with water. Also the carpet in one of the bedrooms was also soggy and wet. I immediately contacted the host and she told us we could leave to go sightseeing and she would send someone to clean it. When we came back, the water in the living room was cleaned, but the carpet was more soggy and more wet than before. I told her this and was ignored. Then, everyday when it rained (in Hawaii it rains often) water would leak into the living room flooding it again and the carpet in the bedroom would get more soggy. The terrible wet carpet smell was intolerable and made that room inhabitable. I asked the host if she could move us to another room, she said she couldn’t and she won’t refund any of what we paid. We paid for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom but instead got 1 inhabitable wet room and constantly lived in fear of the living room flooding each time it rained. We didn’t understand how this host has any positive reviews—did it never rain when other guests stayed here or did the leak only start happening during our stay? I gave the hotel a 1 star as well because they were rude and wouldn’t let us borrow towels when we told them we were flooding. We were only allowed access to pool towels. Terrible host and worst stay in my life.

The property was very clean and was as advertised. Nice location because it was close to the beach and plenty of places to eat. Its lists a washer and dryer. We used the washer but the dryer had directions on how to use it that had where you had to add water to the i believe dryer vent area and we weren't sure about that so we just dried our clothes in the bathroom but other people may be use to this type of dryer. Other than that this place was great and we would definitely stay again. Make sure if you have a car its a small compact car. We rented a Kia Soul and the passenger side is up against the wall so you have to get out of passenger side before you park. Luckily no one parked in parking spot in front of us because there was always a truck next to that spot and we wouldn't of been able to park if someone was in spot infront of us. This place is definitely worth the price we paid for location and cleanliness hopefully we can return again next year!

Greatly in need of a reno though. Popcorn ceilings, old appliances, cheap countertops, chips in flooring, poor finishing on trim and baseboards, and dated bathroom. The taps in the kitchen and bathroom need replacing too.

Margo was a great host, she met us at the condo on arrival, there was a large bowl of fruit plus cheese and crackers for our enjoyment. The condo was very nice with 24 hour security and indoor parking. Our Kuerig coffee maker quit working, we notified Margo and a new one was delivered the next day. All in all a very nice vacation.

The hotel assistant called the agency to send the sheet immediately by fax but it did not executed... for a while. I also tried to call the office but only the voice message... Finally, we need to wait that sheet for one hour in front of the hotel reception desk....

I have previously commented to the Property Manager that this property needs a complete "make over" with replacement of major appliances (range and refrigerator) to equal all other Captain Cook managed properties at Four Paddle. We have stayed in almost every property offered by Captain Cook at Four Paddle and this property does not measure up. The Property Manager indicated he would pass our evaluation on to the owner as it is their responsibility to upgrade the facility. We would not stay in this unit in the future unless it were to undergo a complete renovation. Unfortunately the condition of this property had a negative effect on our stay. As to the building, the new pool deck is fabulous and the remainder of the building continues to be maintained to a high standard. Also the wind this year was extreme which limited our ability to enjoy our stay completely. Next year we hope things will be different.

It’s a perfect condo in Waikiki. The apartment was clean, the neighbors never made any noise, the location is fairly quite and safe, and the price is reasonable. It's about an 8-10 minute walk to Fort DeRussey beach park, the Island Country Markets shop across the street is nice and extremely convenient, and Ala Moana is just a 5 minute drive. Over roughly a year, I found 3 small roaches - considering this is Hawaii, that's not bad at all. Very much enjoyed it here.

The property was as described. There’s a new couch in the living room and a new furniture set was delivered on the lanai while we were there. The lanai was great with views from three sides! The time we were there in late February early March it was a little windy, so we only got to spend limited time on the lanai but it was wonderful. The two balconies are actually where we spent most of our time outside. The kitchen is well stocked on cooking and eating utensils, but I was surprised to find that there was nothing food related there such as salt and pepper or cooking oil. There was plenty of toilet paper and paper towels and coffee filters, but only one extra garbage bag for the kitchen garbage and very few dishwasher detergent packets. It is within walking distance of the beach and many restaurants and bars. We had a minor issue with the check in procedure because they were changing from one process to the other but that should be taken care of now.

Loved this apartment. We stayed for a week and the views are fantastic. There's two shops across the street if you need anything but everything is so close - you are in the heart of Waikiki and a very close walk to the beach. I always enjoy my stay at Four Paddle. I like the location of the building, a bit away from the busiest area of Waikiki. The staff of the building is so friendly and helpful. I have stayed in this studio for a number of years, and have been happy. The only problem I encountered this year was the internet. For the majority of my 6 week stay I was either without wifi or very patchy wifi which was very frustrating. Captain Cook staff and Vincent had the company come and service twice, but it continued to be a problem.

This particular unit has little to no sun because of large buildings surrounding it. No grab bars in bath tub. Toilet very low so not good for older renters. 95% who live here are older and old. We enjoyed the location and the great balcony. The hotel the condo is located in is well kept and the staff is friendly. The views from the balcony are great and the location is wonderful. You are close to Waikiki without being in the busy part and a quick walk to the beach.
However, communication with the management company was frustrating. Check out instructions said to get key from front desk at check in. At arrival the front desk said we needed a code for lock box. When I called they were confused, and it took about 20 minutes for them to call back with lock box code. Frustrating, but oh well. Things happen.
The condo wasn’t very clean. It has a mildew type smell when you first walk in.You can see signs of water damage along the lower walls. The AC filters need changed.The living room furniture is a bit grimy. The patio was swept and the pile of debris left in a corner. But it was also missing the hammock and all dish/ kitchen towels. There was one measuring cup… 1/3 cup. Which is not a huge deal, but weird. We didn’t do much cooking, but if you are planning to cook alot, the kitchen might not be well stocked.
Without getting into too much, I will just say that I found the management company difficult to clearly communicate with. And I was frustrated by incorrect or poor communication at the end. I am not usually one to have to ask questions or bother with hosts much. So this is not a usual problem for me.
Overall, the balcony and location made this stay enjoyable.

This room is our favorite. It is spacious enough for two people. It is a satisfying level with storage, shower, king size bed, etc. The interior has a good taste and is not overly decorated.
